Is there anyone who is looking to resume at Stellenbosch this January 2017?

Also please which is the cheapest medical insurance provider for international students in SA?
Why don't you contact the school's housing department? If you applied for accommodation as part of your application you should be able to get a letter from them stating your residence.

Some of these vfs people don't know what to collect, you should have asked of the manager, you are not yet 6months so why do you need saps police clearance?
I am thinking of just telling the guy to collect it anyway!

No police report needed, but u need to get a clearance from your present school that you are not indebted to them in any way
I got to the VFS centre to submit my application for a change of condition - from UFS to Stellenbosch, but was shocked when the dude told me I had to include both SAPO clearance and Naija Pol. I haven't spent up to four months here! And I heard the SAPO clearance takes over a month... I need to be in school by Jan. Any suggestion my people?

No...If u r coming for Msc,then SAQA must evaluate ur Bsc,but for PhD, it ur Msc that must be evaluated..
Both B.Sc and M.Sc have to be evaluated. It provides them with an educational history.

[quote author=samuelUMOH post=50905656]Let him take the passport data page and utility to post office or police station for certification. he knows what to do .[/quote

If he writes as your uncle the embassy will get suspicious, especially if you are older than 21years. Let him write it in form of a lease agreement. I advise that you get a letter from your school's accommodation though. That doesn't involve any drama.

Hello house.
I just got PhD admission at DUT in Durban.
However I need to submit proof of residence
in addition to other documents for my study visa
application. My friend who is a PhD student in UKZN
says there is no problem with me staying with him
for a while but that he is not eligible to issue that particular letter of residence to me.
He tried getting it over there and he couldn't. My supervisor too has also started sounding as if I'm
bothering her too much and I no way oyinbo wahala.
It's the Letter I need, my friend is ready to take me in.
Please I need a way forward, assistance, advice pls.
Thanks in anticipation.
PLS EPP ME angry
Check your school Web page for the housing depth. Send an email to the contact person stating that you need a proof of accommodation. You can tell the person that you plan to stay on campus when you get in. I hope this helps. Naso I do my own!

Thanks alot for this info! I have been so confused. The new school is giving a full scholarship that covers all expenses, plus a stipend. Do I need to include my statement of account in the application?

Many thanks

Hello everyone,

I plan to change my school here after spending about four months. Do I need to get a police report from here, given that I haven't spent six months? Do I need to get a police report from Nigeria? Thanks

Hello house. I'm trying to apply for my student permit against January 2017b and I have just 2 questions.

1. I learnt that the Police clearance certificate can now be obtained in other locations beside Alagbon. I will like to know if the SA embassy does not have a problem with obtaining it elsewhere, I plan to get mine in Ibadan.

2. If one is going on full scholarship, does one still need to have a huge sum of money in one's account. Can someone kindly give me an idea of how much I should have in my account?
Thanks in anticipation.
Hey,
It depends on the terms of the scholarship. If it caters for everything and the value is ok, then you might not need a statement of account.

Best.

No you can't since you've submitted already, all you could do is to extend in SA. If you wish to reside there for some time, or more than 2weeks
You cannot extend your visa in South Africa! Except you have a temporary residence permit

It depends on individual lifestyles, I don't know what fees are like in stellinbosch, fees vary on courses and schools. But for feeding and housing in stellinbosch a striclty white suburb in Western Cape, 45 mins drive from cape town is quite expensive so from to of my head I will say R6k to R7k a month. In todays Nigeria exchange rate, that's about a rand is 30 naira so that's about N180k to N210k.
Btw this isn't professional advise just top of my head
This is spot-on! Stellenbosch is quite pricey. If you are self funding I suggest you try other schools that are equally high ranking. Cheers

Hello everyone, please I want to know how much SAQA charge for each certificate verification and will they verify only B. Sc and M. S results for PhD or WAEC inclusive?

Thank You!
They will evaluate B.sc and M.Sc only. For the rate you can check their website.

Cheers

@stevetop really? now am confused some say usd some say rand whew!!!
It is simple maths my dear, Rands is getting weaker against the Dollar daily while it is getting stronger against Naira. Rands is about 35 naira in the black market at the moment... do your calculation. 1 Dollar equals 14 rands.

Thanking you in advance.
Hello, just walk into the nearest post office and ask for the registered mail counter. It takes about three weeks for mails to get here, but it will get here in one piece- and it is quite cheap too- as low as 1500.

Cheers

Okay. My colleagues that came in on Saturday came in via Ethiopian airlines.theybhad a stop over in Addis Ababa for 2 hours. They however told me that they had to pay $100 at immigration in Nigeria which they said was impaction fee and they were given receipt for and they said they were told it will be returned to them upon arrival ( I and my friends weren't asked that though)
At the Point of Entry here I had a smooth entry, the guy just asked me what I was here for and I told him and he stamped me in. It took less than 2 minutes.
In fact my friend wasn't even asked his reason for coming while my other friend was delayed for about an hour while they were trying to confirm our accommodation. So I must say it depends on luck.
Just be confident and ensure you have the following
A. YELLOW CARD (it's very Key)
B. Return ticket
C. Proof of accommodation
D. Any other documents supporting your reason for entry.
Have a safe trip whenever you are coming.
The name of the fee is repatriation fee and you could give the teller used to pay to a friend or relative to collect the money on your behalf the following day after your departure. I have stopped flying Ethiopian Airways though - I feel it is an affront to us as Nigerians - given that even the SA embassy has stopped all that shenanigan

1- I am not so sure about transcripts certification because it must be sealed in principle and addressed to wherever you want to send it,(I will still confirm this and let u know),
2- get both photocopies of passports data page and certificates, and their originals to any court. They should certify them there. I leave around Iyana in Ota along the road to Canaan Land. I have certified so many times at the Ota high court just in front of Honda company and it's 250 naira per page.

3- You can use any Express mail to send the documents to your friend in UJ. Just for him to give you the correct address.

I am also aware that the SA custom inspects everything coming into the country and that at times delays the mail and prolongs the waiting time on the receivers end.
I had the experience, i was in UJ and documents were sent to me. I expected to have them within the normal 3-4 working days but I didn't till I left. It arrived about 2weeks later and the explanation above is what I was given.
Sorry, very long and boring? I hope it helps anyway.
If you have a copy of your transcript, Student's copy or original, just make a photocopy along with the passport data page and any other document you need to certify, take them to the nearest high court to you and get them certified. I did mine for 200 naira a piece. That wat some time ago though.

As for the mailing thing, I would advise you use registered mail, if you have like a month to wait. It is safe and ridiculously cheap.

I hope this helps.

Hello Mr Stagerlee
I have a quick question.
Is it true that I can get back all my VAT at the airport if I keep my receipts and tender them?
Thanks quote author=staggerlee post=49313560]Meanwhile I am looking for people with legitimate visas in the republic but want to change status or extend, have opened an advisory office here with little cost. So hit me up, have also made in roads into the DHA, so there is a high chance of you getting your application approved, sorry guys no more free bees

Hello, why do you need rands? It makes economic sense to travel here with Dollars.
TravelRe: General South Africa Visa Enquiries by stevetop(m): 7:32pm On Sep 17, 2016
You will not need a transit visa if you don't plan to leave the airport. If your flight is delayed for up to 24 hours, you will have an option of getting a transit visa at the airport. I hope that helps.

Cheers

Hello my great people, good morning how are you doing? Please where can a friend get police report and yellow card from Bida Niger state. Thanks
It is best you find your way to Lag to do both. The authentic yellow card can be got close to the airport while the police character certificate is obtainable at Alagbon. All the best!

To be honest with you dumping huge cash into your account at once will greatly work against.you, except you have had a substantial amount in there before that lodgement,i will advise you to withdraw around 150k from the account, add it back maybe in two tranches and wait for about 2-3 weeks before making your application.
400k is not huge cash so it might not count against your application, especially if you had some money in the acct before now. Also the turnover of the account should be ok. i deposited 2mil in my account the day i printed my statement and i got my visa - i added my current account to the application sha.

It has always been like that cos i had the same experience when i applied in 2014. What you can do is to get someone in SA to pay for you while you transfer the Naira equivalent to him or her. That's the easiest way out considering the amount involved.
Has your card been opened for forex transactions? Contact your bank if it hasnt

Please Dexcmd, could you help me with info on how to send my documents to SAQA?
*Am I sending hard copy of my transcripts(myself) or my school is?
*And any need of sending photocopies of credentials alongside the transcripts?
Plz, your response is highly valued. Thanks
If you have a student copy of your transcripts you can get it notarized( the photocopy) and send it along with photocopies of your certificates which must also be notarized.
Yes you have to send copies of your certificates and transcripts. (notarized that is)
