I have a friend that works in S.A (same area as my school) and he has agreed to take me in pending when I geta place. What should I tell him to send to me to prove I will be staying with him? Greetings great people of this thread. Do I need to make photocopies of my yellow card for submission or it is merely for sighting? Also I want to ask is there is a closing date for study permit application- I was told there is a deadline- though the person talked about the deadline being for Masters applications.

Good morning, I will advise you to do you medical at government hospital. Concerning the introduction letter, let them know your status married or not, where you reside, your work, let them your purpose of going to South Africa. If it is study or visiting give them the details of your host. Hope this will help. Please others add to this. Thanks Happy Sunday

Happy Sunday great men in the house, thanks for the help so far. i work at the moment but I dont plan to submit a letter of introduction from my employer as it might delay my application- do I still need to state where I work on my application for a study visa since I am planning to use a sponsor (letter and statement of acc) Also is it imperative to put a copy of my marriage certificate? If yes, do I need to also get it notarised? Kindly help!

Same to you brother. The form Bi -1738 is for study permit, work permit and other permit for temporary residence permit in South Africa. Go to South Africa embassy on Tuesday 5th Jan they will check all your documents. If they need SAQA they will ask for it. Please go with your CTC of your transcripts and your certificate plus your admissions letter. Thanks

Thanks for the all the responses. Is it adviceable that I do my medicals at a private hospital or govt hospital? I also dont have an idea of the things to include in the letter of introduction to the embassy. Thanks for the help- getting free help these days is almost a mirage. Cheers!

Compliment of the season brother, that section 6 I just wrote 800k naira equivalent to rand. Payment for what? You don't need to go any bank.just write amount that available in rands equivalent.

I am planning to apply for study permit without SAQA- due to the possibility of getting the certificate late- what is the possibility of being granted? I am to be in Bloem for my PhD before March.

Brodaly, ur response is most appreciated. I have another question- If I move a lump sum into the account I want to present for my permit won't it be a red flag? I have saved up the monies I would need for my studies but it is in my savings account and I plan to present my current account. I need to move the money into my current acct but a friend said that they might suspect the transaction being a lump sum.

People, must I have paid my school tuition fees before applying for study permit? Who can tell me about Bloemfontein- will be studying for a PhD at University of the Freestate.
