abdullahi45: Thanks for your response boss.
I will like to ask, can my sponsor which is my uncle use his company's bank statement for me or he has to use his personal account? As he is the manager of the company?
Also what can he do when most of his money is in his company's bank account?
Kindly help me. What could be done. it will serve you better if he can give you statements for both accounts. It makes it easier to show how he makes his money. Also, he has to state in his reference letter that he will be responsible for the cost of your studies as well as upkeep. Ire O! |

Silvabae: Have you ever travelled?, do you know what most Nigerian do there that provoke these said attacks, did you see any attack on good housing regions and legit Nigerians? Did you notice the pictures where mostly slums? Have you heard of Nigerians in schools attacked?.......There no smoke without fire, I have seen the life some Nigerians live first hand in South Africa sometimes I pity for them because I know they are trying to hustle and they dont care if they are giving themselves a bad name. I'm not judging I'm just say8ing Nigerians are not d only once in SA and the word Xenophobic is not a dictionary meaning for fights btw these 2 people, not all attacks should be stereotyped as xenophobic. Now lv us in peace this group is for Visa enquires, u can start a group and Trend for all that. Thank you Even South Africans agree that there are xenophobic attacks going on. Check Trevor Noah's writing on it. |

The killing of humans can never be right. Do you know that the attackers have a manifesto? Do you know that the Somalis are already taking up arms to defend themselves?-Not only Nigerians are being attacked! It is this attitude of I am not affected that continues to stop Nigerians/Africans from speaking out against societal ills... |

Wummih: hello house, how do I get proof of accommodation for Study permit application?
I actually didn't apply for residence last year now I've mailed International unit of the school for a letter of accommodation still no reply.
Any PG aspirant/student at bellville (UWC or CPUT) here?
how can I get the letter to apply asap as class starts late February, so I can sort out my accommodation later.
thanks Hello Wummih, try checking Gumtree, look for advert for student accommodation in an area close to your school, contact the ones that seem genuine. The plan is for you to make them realise that you plan to stay at their property, however, you wouldnt want to pay rent until you are in the country. The good ones would be ready to give you a contract which you can use as a proof of accommodation. All the best! |

samuelUMOH: Activate your online banking .You can transfer naira to someone account here and get rand in exchange . 2. Open stanbic account and inform them you are going SA 3. or open access bank account and get master card .Some people on this forum use this method. You can swipe your card here but I doubt if you can withdraw via ATM . I don't think the second options still works. I have an account with Stanbic and the Mastercard is plain useless! |

samuelUMOH: Bros be careful when you make sensitive comments thousands of people in Nigeria and outside are reading .How did you arrive at ' Stellenbosch is a racist ?To say an academic institution is a racist is very fallacious statement. And you are resuming to the ' racist ' school January ? And this same school gives million of rand to black students .I spent time there I didn't see any racism . 2 .How did you conclude that Kwa Zulu is not safe ? Have you live there before or based on what you read online? .We have thousands of Nigerian living in Kwa Zulu and more than 30 on this forum and they are not facing any racist attack ,so far you are not coming to SA for drugs business and Yahoo you have nothing to fear just be security conscious . Let us be careful what we post here there are people from other countries reading comments . Watch a documentary titled "Luister", maybe that will expose you a little to the underbelly of racism in Stellenbosch. Since we are used to being treated as second class citizens in Nigeria, we can't see racism even if it kicked us in the face |

Kentrasso: Hi people. First of all. Racism is personal not collective. As far as I know, I've never met a racist since I came to Cape Town last year. The way you treat people is the same way you'll be treated.
To my question please for those in Cape Town. If you want a faster processing for study renewal which would you suggest? Go very early to Strand street or jejely follow appointment procedures at Absa building? Or does it not matter? the same way there are no racists in U.S too... |

Let us be careful what we post here there are people from other countries reading comments . You are the one sensationalising the issue. I gave hard evidence here, Stellenbosch was the seat of the apartheid intellectual movement. I am a researcher and I don't rely on online reportage for my conclusions - and I do take exception to that running of mouth. Read the history of Stellenbosch and you will get some education on that. The fees structure of Stellenbosch is designed to keep blacks out of there, as any thorough academic will know, the presence of black students, or the charity enjoyed doesn't obfuscate the presence of racism. And contrary to your opinion that I do not know about the schol, I have friends that have finished their Ph.Ds there, I was there for some months for a residency, and I can tell you alot about the place. As per the Zulu-Natal, it is a truth acknowledged by even South Africans - Check the place where Xenophobic attacks were rampart - Durban, check where fees must fall movement was most violent. If you took your time to read my submission before jumping on your high horse, you would have noticed that I advised the guy to focus on his study - wetin concern agbero with overload? Abeg o! |

KarisBright: Good evening house. I want to apply for a Ph.D in Capetown, Stellenbosch and Kwazulu Natal. Specifically, Stellenbosch catches my fancy but all I have read points to the fact that the school and the community is racist. This is making me have doubts about it. Are these doubts unfounded? Do I really have nothing to fear? I await your enlightening contributions. Thanks in anticipation. Yes Stellenbosch is racist, considering the fact that it was the intellectual bastion of Apartheid as a theory. However, racism here doesn't stop you from achieving excellence or getting what rightly accrues to you. Believe me, no one will victimise you - but if you are looking for a place where you want to be the darling of the whites, then choose another school. As a Nigerian in search of excellence, I presume, you should focus on what the intellectual environment offers - plus it is way safer than the Zulu enclaves Cheers! |
