this what we africans felt to know. it is not by prayer alone, action matters zinowealth: |
seunmsg:pls we should help support this man in Power in building a better country. Tinubu might not be the best overall, but the man too is trying, intead of throwing insult everyday, we should unite and push our country foward. We should as much to detach ourselves from bigotry |
Some people among us are completely pessimistic towards our dear country they always wish that the country should colapse and unfortunately they easily decieve the gullible ones among us. Some hate Nigeria with passion, they dislike any goodnews about Nigeria GreenCovering: |
Cooked egg is more nutritious than the fried one. The process involved in frying an egg makes it lose some nutritional content |
try Makurdi City. Things are cheaper here compare to southern cities. Housing, transport, food etc are very affordable and the electricity here too is not bad, some places enjoys atleast 15hours a day electricity |
The truth is that some beliefs are completely illogical and i am of the opinion that a man should act base on reason. God Almighty has given us a brain to think intelligently for ourselves. And when it comes to religious belief i will like to say that a man should make verification to see that does this belief brings me goodness or misery? By their fruits you shall judge them. If today a religious belief says that, if you want to become succesfull pray and fast everyday and another belief says that if you want to be succesful work hard enough. As a good follower i will suggest that one should test both of the beliefs and see which one is effective, the bible says by their fruits you shall know them. One shouldn't belief blindly but rather make an effort to verify first gohf: |

Sermwell:seriously religion is a big legal scam may God open our eyes to understand the true essence of living |
My thoughts exactly. Op's change is not base on reasoning at all matify83: |
that is why i am always skeptical of the bible(not an atheist though). how unfair it is to suffer the sin of another person, it is against natural justice. Had it being it is an reincarnation theory i will say it is fine that you suffer from the sins of your past lifes not your parent sin |
is the comparison that neccessary?. everyone is great in his own ability nobody pass anybody |
this almost ruin my life brother, at first i am not even aware of it. i thought the shyness and social avoidance is part of my own characteristics trait, unknown to me i am suffering from mental illness. Here in Nigeria many are suffering from mental illness without being aware of. Many of us belief that it is only crazy person that has mental problem. i think it's high time our people get to understand this problem, it is a silent killer jeffersonsam: |
it is very disheartening that in this side of our world a person with mental illness is often seen as a crazy(mad) person while in reality mental illness is a problem that everybody can develop just like malaria and typhoid. As it stand now every one in four persons in nigeria has a mental disorder but the majority are not aware of it. Some of them who are aware of it failed to seek support due to cultural stigma towards mental illnesss. UNDERSTANDING THE SYMPTOMS ---One of the most common behaviour of people with social anxiety is SHYNESS they always avoid social gatherings, they cannot perform a task properly if their being watched. they always avoid eye contact ----Caring alot about others÷ i think this is where the problem starts especially in my own case. Social anxiety sufferer always a people's pleaser, they don't like to hurt others feelings . They always review back the discourse they had with people during the day analysing wether they speak well or may be the people might talk behind them. the sufferer always care about what others think of them. ---SWEAT even inside a fully air conditioned vicinity a sufferer sweat in front of people cuz of constant fear and worry. ....SCHIZOPHRENIA: my own condition even reached this stage. there is always a correlation among all mental illness that is to say a particular disorder can also leads to another one if it gets chronic. Schizophrenia as we all know is a pure delusion of the brain, a sufferer can percieve and see things that are not real that is why here in nigeria a person that have such disorder might think that it is an evil spirit or maybe something supernatural, but lo this is pure chemical inbalace in the brain, and the goodnews is that our brain can be rewired and recover with proper exercise. A person with highlevel social anxiety tend to see people with angry faces, if a person pass close to them they automatically think that the person is staring at them. where there is an empty chair he think that someone is sitting on it staring at him, but if by chance he decided to look well he will discover that it is an empty chair. His brain is completely misled. THE KEY TO RECOVERY The truth is that mental illness is not like physical illness whereby you can get cured through medication, mental illness requires effort from the sufferer, you must try and workout your own salvation. Therapist can help also but you must finish the work yourself. 1: what others think or feels about you is not your 4cking problem always proclaim this to yourself. You are not here to please other, they can think and feel whatever they like it is your life not their life. this is the fisrt key to recovery 2:Face Your Fears: learn to go out and hangaround go to social gatherings, learn to speak in front of people looking at them in their eyes manfully with your headup. This will create confidence in yourself 3:Practice To Do Disagreeable Things: when your mind tells you not to go watch that football match inside a viewing centre, do the opposite by going there. When your mind tells you not to go gist with those your neighbours, pls go there and gist. Always do the opposite of what the mind likes, these type of practices will help you gain mental strenght and social anxiety will run away from you. Happy Sunday |
[quote author=StonesA post=136424547]hi guys. i want to give a brief message concerning the level of stereotype in our society today with a hope that many of us should be able to leave it behind and understand that an individual's character does not define his/her entire ethnic group. it is now a common occurrence in our society today whereby if an individual does something wrong, the first thing you'll hear is that "ah na ibo na, ah na hausa na, ah na yoruba na" and the phrase will end as that's how they behave. We always end up insulting an entire group because one person's behaviour. We always felt to realise that people can never be the same, even inside a family of five children you will discover that everyone has it's own unique character....one may be proud, the other might be very humble and they all bear the same parent. We all know that quite alright genetics can alter our behaviour but this is not an obsolute truth(it's halftruth), some of our behaviour are learned independently. For instance in my own family my elder bro is the master of womanising he can date 12 different girls at thesame time while me i hardly date one not to talk of many. But do you know that because of my brother's behaviour some people outside will tag |
hi guys. i want to give a brief message concerning the level of stereotype in our society today with a hope that many of us should be able to leave it behind and understand that an individual's character does not define his/her entire ethnic group. it is now a common occurrence in our society today whereby if an individual does something wrong, the first thing you'll hear is that "ah na ibo na, ah na hausa na, ah na yoruba na" and the phrase will end as that's how they behave. But do you know that because of my brother's behaviour some people outside will tag our entire family as family of womanisers.... imagine how their generalise judgement is unfair towards me as member of that family... an introvert who hardly date. so guys what i am trying to point out here is that if a members of thesame family of five has different behaviours how much more a tribe of people that runs into thousands and millions of people? imagine how unfairely a generalise condemnation is towards many. Myself i use to act that way but i thankGod that i am liberated. Just last week at a filling station a hausa bike man bought a fuel from a filliing station he paid in cash and left and the filling station attendant did not even bother to count the money..... he was like... ah hausa man no dey cheat na even if i no count the money no problem and me being a northerner who mingled with the hausas well, i stared at the attendant with a pitying smile cuz i no how many times i was cheated by the hausas. this is just one of the examples of blind stereotypes in our society we often think that a tribe or group has the same behaviour. Myself i was a victim of hausa scammer but people believe hausa don't cheat and those scammers take advantage of those kind of people. in our society today you will hear things like.. if you go to that igbo man shop he will cheat you it's in their blood blablaaaa but still if checken thoroughly you'll realise that not all ibos cheat in business myself i've met some honest ones. Another one is " ah yoruba no sabi business na only office work dem sabi blablaàa....still this is nonsense generalisation i've know some yorubas who started biz from scratch and made it big... one of them is the owner of titogate yourghort Makurdi the man came here for his youth service around 80's and started selling fura inside sachet to locals as time goes by he carried the biz to a higherlevel, as of today titogate is nationwide. Where i base now in benue there is a popular stereotype that Idoma tribe are very stingy but that's not an obsolute truth. i've met some of them that are very generous when i was doing carwash back then some of them dash me extra money after service. Another belief here too is that the Tiv tribe are drunkard na only drinking them sabi but thats another baseless stereortype i've met some tiv boys that don't drink at all(even soft drink) one of them is Terve my colleague. There are many instances showing us that generalising an entire group of people is pure ignorance. we should learn to see an individual for who he/she is not as a representative of his tribe and by doing so our society will be filled with love not hatred. myself i use to act that way but i thankGod that i am enlightene. MAY GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA |
goatandyam:so are you now telling me that there is no life after this one. |

one of the major security challenges that bedeviled our country in recent years is kidnapping and i think it's high time the gov't should do it's best in bringing an end to this problem. POSSIBLE SOLUTION: i am not 100% sure wether this idea could be the best, but i assume that MICROCHIPS INPLANTED will make it easier to trace anybody, it means that nobody can be hidden. But unfortunately this might not be accepted by the majority because of our religious inclination. some will even tell you that its a mark of the beast |

Dupsky:it was never a physical problem it is menatl, i suffered thesame embarrasment for years but thank God that i am save. it's only exist inside our mind, go read about Olfactory Reference Syndrome |
its all exist inside their head. there is psychological disorder called Olfactory Reference Syndrome, it stated that people who have this disorder are ashamed to go into public because of the fear that the odour will affect others while in reality it is actually in their head. And because of shame that is connected ti this disorder, the sufferers can spend their entire life without asking anyone wether they trully have bad breath |
