Some people among us are completely pessimistic towards our dear country they always wish that the country should colapse and unfortunately they easily decieve the gullible ones among us. Some hate Nigeria with passion, they dislike any goodnews about Nigeria
GreenCovering:
You need to understand the governor clearly so that you do not judge him wrongly. That is, nobody comes to you ask you are you Fulani and if not kills you. Equally too, nobody comes to you and ask are you a muslim and if not kills you. This is this the interpretation people of hidden agenda against the Nigerian state want to bring into it instead of addressing the issue as it is, which is, some deviants who want to force their ideologies on others albeit wrongly and people involved in armed conflicts over land and resources.

Thank you dear governor.

Christianity EtcRe: Will You Obey Or Say No? by StonesA: 10:46am On Sep 07, 2025
The truth is that some beliefs are completely illogical and i am of the opinion that a man should act base on reason. God Almighty has given us a brain to think intelligently for ourselves. And when it comes to religious belief i will like to say that a man should make verification to see that does this belief brings me goodness or misery? By their fruits you shall judge them. If today a religious belief says that, if you want to become succesfull pray and fast everyday and another belief says that if you want to be succesful work hard enough. As a good follower i will suggest that one should test both of the beliefs and see which one is effective, the bible says by their fruits you shall know them. One shouldn't belief blindly but rather make an effort to verify first
gohf:
Would you obey whatever request God makes of you irrespective of the reason or would you deny certain ones based on your moral standard?

There are those who believe that those who believe in God throw reason and logic away, and follow God "blindly" and I know some who believe may say, we live by faith not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7.

Now the question is, do you believe that "faith" requires you to throw away logic and do whatever you believe God has commanded you to do, irrespective of the reason behind it and assuming you actually can verify if it's God speaking and it is God's command.

Take for instance, "sacrificing" your child as some translations put it, killing women, children and animals, eating food you have never eaten before or you may not even like, giving up your wealth, or any command as such that may not be in line with you.

HealthRe: Understanding Social Anxiety Coming From A Former Sufferer by StonesA(op): 10:34am On Aug 24, 2025
this almost ruin my life brother, at first i am not even aware of it. i thought the shyness and social avoidance is part of my own characteristics trait, unknown to me i am suffering from mental illness. Here in Nigeria many are suffering from mental illness without being aware of. Many of us belief that it is only crazy person that has mental problem. i think it's high time our people get to understand this problem, it is a silent killer
jeffersonsam:
Modern technologies will providing so many benefits to the people, at the same this will also causing some side effects to the people. Especially people suffering from depression, stress and anxiety. Day by day this mental health issue numbers increasing more and more. So, people should know the better way to avoid this health issues by following positive ways. Seeking doctor help also supports to deal this issues in a better way.
HealthUnderstanding Social Anxiety Coming From A Former Sufferer by StonesA(op): 10:42am On Aug 17, 2025
it is very disheartening that in this side of our world a person with mental illness is often seen as a crazy(mad) person while in reality mental illness is a problem that everybody can develop just like malaria and typhoid. As it stand now every one in four persons in nigeria has a mental disorder but the majority are not aware of it. Some of them who are aware of it failed to seek support due to cultural stigma towards mental illnesss.

UNDERSTANDING THE SYMPTOMS
---One of the most common behaviour of people with social anxiety is SHYNESS they always avoid social gatherings, they cannot perform a task properly if their being watched. they always avoid eye contact

----Caring alot about others÷ i think this is where the problem starts especially in my own case. Social anxiety sufferer always a people's pleaser, they don't like to hurt others feelings . They always review back the discourse they had with people during the day analysing wether they speak well or may be the people might talk behind them. the sufferer always care about what others think of them.

---SWEAT even inside a fully air conditioned vicinity a sufferer sweat in front of people cuz of constant fear and worry.

....SCHIZOPHRENIA: my own condition even reached this stage. there is always a correlation among all mental illness that is to say a particular disorder can also leads to another one if it gets chronic. Schizophrenia as we all know is a pure delusion of the brain, a sufferer can percieve and see things that are not real that is why here in nigeria a person that have such disorder might think that it is an evil spirit or maybe something supernatural, but lo this is pure chemical inbalace in the brain, and the goodnews is that our brain can be rewired and recover with proper exercise.
A person with highlevel social anxiety tend to see people with angry faces, if a person pass close to them they automatically think that the person is staring at them. where there is an empty chair he think that someone is sitting on it staring at him, but if by chance he decided to look well he will discover that it is an empty chair. His brain is completely misled.

THE KEY TO RECOVERY
The truth is that mental illness is not like physical illness whereby you can get cured through medication, mental illness requires effort from the sufferer, you must try and workout your own salvation. Therapist can help also but you must finish the work yourself.

1: what others think or feels about you is not your 4cking problem always proclaim this to yourself. You are not here to please other, they can think and feel whatever they like it is your life not their life. this is the fisrt key to recovery

2:Face Your Fears: learn to go out and hangaround go to social gatherings, learn to speak in front of people looking at them in their eyes manfully with your headup. This will create confidence in yourself

3:Practice To Do Disagreeable Things: when your mind tells you not to go watch that football match inside a viewing centre, do the opposite by going there. When your mind tells you not to go gist with those your neighbours, pls go there and gist. Always do the opposite of what the mind likes, these type of practices will help you gain mental strenght and social anxiety will run away from you. Happy Sunday

[quote author=StonesA post=136424547]hi guys. i want to give a brief message concerning the level of stereotype in our society today with a hope that many of us should be able to leave it behind and understand that an individual's character does not define his/her entire ethnic group.
it is now a common occurrence in our society today whereby if an individual does something wrong, the first thing you'll hear is that "ah na ibo na, ah na hausa na, ah na yoruba na" and the phrase will end as that's how they behave. We always end up insulting an entire group because one person's behaviour. We always felt to realise that people can never be the same, even inside a family of five children you will discover that everyone has it's own unique character....one may be proud, the other might be very humble and they all bear the same parent. We all know that quite alright genetics can alter our behaviour but this is not an obsolute truth(it's halftruth), some of our behaviour are learned independently. For instance in my own family my elder bro is the master of womanising he can date 12 different girls at thesame time while me i hardly date one not to talk of many. But do you know that because of my brother's behaviour some people outside will tag

For instance in my own family my elder bro is the master of womanising he can date 12 different girls at thesame time while me i hardly date one not to talk of many. But do you know that because of my brother's behaviour some people outside will tag our entire family as family of womanisers.... imagine how their generalise judgement is unfair towards me as member of that family... an introvert who hardly date. so guys what i am trying to point out here is that if a members of thesame family of five has different behaviours how much more a tribe of people that runs into thousands and millions of people? imagine how unfairely a generalise condemnation is towards many. Myself i use to act that way but i thankGod that i am liberated. Just last week at a filling station a hausa bike man bought a fuel from a filliing station he paid in cash and left and the filling station attendant did not even bother to count the money..... he was like... ah hausa man no dey cheat na even if i no count the money no problem and me being a northerner who mingled with the hausas well, i stared at the attendant with a pitying smile cuz i no how many times i was cheated by the hausas. this is just one of the examples of blind stereotypes in our society we often think that a tribe or group has the same behaviour. Myself i was a victim of hausa scammer but people believe hausa don't cheat and those scammers take advantage of those kind of people. in our society today you will hear things like.. if you go to that igbo man shop he will cheat you it's in their blood blablaaaa but still if checken thoroughly you'll realise that not all ibos cheat in business myself i've met some honest ones.
Another one is " ah yoruba no sabi business na only office work dem sabi blablaàa....still this is nonsense generalisation i've know some yorubas who started biz from scratch and made it big... one of them is the owner of titogate yourghort Makurdi the man came here for his youth service around 80's and started selling fura inside sachet to locals as time goes by he carried the biz to a higherlevel, as of today titogate is nationwide.
Where i base now in benue there is a popular stereotype that Idoma tribe are very stingy but that's not an obsolute truth. i've met some of them that are very generous when i was doing carwash back then some of them dash me extra money after service. Another belief here too is that the Tiv tribe are drunkard na only drinking them sabi but thats another baseless stereortype i've met some tiv boys that don't drink at all(even soft drink) one of them is Terve my colleague.
There are many instances showing us that generalising an entire group of people is pure ignorance. we should learn to see an individual for who he/she is not as a representative of his tribe and by doing so our society will be filled with love not hatred. myself i use to act that way but i thankGod that i am enlightene. MAY GOD BLESS OUR COUNTRY NIGERIA

HealthRe: I'm Dying Of Social Killer(bad Breath) by StonesA: 2:04am On Dec 11, 2023
Dupsky:
Good day everyone, I also suffered with the same problem of halitosis for 15years but now cured with things I have but neglected because I thought my problem was much worse and more of spiritual rather than ordinary.

Here is my story
I got to know that I have bad breath when I was in jss3, I was speaking with my friends in class and all of a sudden one of them told me shut my mouth because it smells. Everybody started laughing I felt so embarrassed 🙈. That was how my problem started. I lost my confidence and self esteem.

I also noticed that whenever I talk, people kind of scratch their nose or repositioned themselves, so in order to cover up the odor from my mouth, I choose to start chewing gum and sweet because, it has a pleasant smell so it tends to suppress the odor.

Whenever I get my pocket money it’s on sweet and chew gum. I never knew I was worsening the situation because at the end I had holes in my teeth. The hole also worsening the odor because the smell from the hole alone can make one faint.
Along the line I thought it’s the hole that actually makes my mouth smell that if the tooth is extracted all the odor will be gone. I went with my mum to the dentist extracted 2 teeth the smell still continues.

It made me always keep to myself, I don’t have friends just me. Even among my siblings when they are talking I don’t contribute because I wouldn’t want to scatter the gathering with my odour. I only talk when i know they are far from me.

I gained admission 2009 it still continues and gradually got worse. I can’t open my mouth in the bus because they will start asking who pollute the air. I still continue with my chewing gum and sweet method. I surf the internet everyday for possible solutions. I read of Euthymol toothpaste then I bought it for #1500 I Used it, there was no changes I had to stop it.

I read of baking soda to cure mouth odour, I bought and used it, it actually works for teeth whitening and not odour because my course mate do complement how white my teeth was but in my mind I will be like, if only we can swap mouth lol. I also bought listerine mouthwash but the odor was still there.

It got worse to the extent that my breath also smells. How did I know? When I’m seated beside someone and I breathe out with opening my mouth, the person will surely complain on something rotten smelling. I went to the dentist and complained and the dentist told me I don’t have bad breath I was puzzled but he recommended washing of my teeth, I got to the section to wash teeth I was asked why I wanted to wash because my teeth was clean but, they sha washed anyways since I was there already. I was happy that finally I’m free, alas, the same day in the bus, I intentionally yawned the passenger beside me covered nose. That was when I thought my problem wasn’t normal lol, I thought it was my village people that was behind it. Mind you, I brush my teeth with hard brush very well or so I think. I graduated my mouth still smells hmm

I have contacted many people from this platform that claim to have solutions all to no avail, bought different products mouth spray, longrich among others. To cut the long story short I just gained back my confidence about 6 months ago. All Glory to God I can talk to people face without them covering their nose.

What I did was very simple, I simply got two toothbrushes one hard and one medium brush respectively. I also got a mouthwash that was all. Let me explain. I brush with the two toothbrush morning and night, I use the medium brush for my teeth, I brush up and down side and side(if you are used to hard brush you might think you haven’t brush trust me you have) our gum doesn’t want hard stuff that’s the reason for brushing with medium brush. When I’m through brushing I just spill out the saliva, I DONT rinse my mouth with water, I take the hard brush to brush my tongue, I brush my tongue very well (I mean, I scrub well and I make sure the brush get to all corner on the tongue) and brush the part of my teeth that I chew with. After brushing, I also spit out the saliva I DONT rinse with water yet, after which I gargle with mouthwash few mins and spill, then I rinse my mouth with water.

Any good toothpaste will work but I use Colgate any good mouthwash also I use Listerine

*Please Note*
* Repeat the process morning and night don’t skip
* At first your tongue might be sore due to the brush please DONT discontinue
* The odour didn’t start in a day so please don’t expect it to go the same day you start
* Consistency is the key
* Change your brush every 3 months

Trust me you will come back and thank me.

All these years, I always wish someone will just drop a solution here and I will carry it out and boom I will be odour free, but since that didn’t happen and I find my solution, i know there are thousands of people going through the same problem that might needs a solution, hence the need to share.
it was never a physical problem it is menatl, i suffered thesame embarrasment for years but thank God that i am save. it's only exist inside our mind, go read about Olfactory Reference Syndrome
Health95% Of People Who Have Bad Breath Does Not Actually Have It by StonesA(op): 8:36pm On May 29, 2023
its all exist inside their head. there is psychological disorder called Olfactory Reference Syndrome, it stated that people who have this disorder are ashamed to go into public because of the fear that the odour will affect others while in reality it is actually in their head. And because of shame that is connected ti this disorder, the sufferers can spend their entire life without asking anyone wether they trully have bad breath
