Dallazday:i havent completed my application too. I think the best idea is to do it in the midnight cos the site is suffering from heavy traffic |
Ifakiland:if you have no idea to contribute, u can pass bro. U know? |
AgentGoat:You may say but not easily. How many politicians today use their real age? Same applies to most senior civil servants especially in the military and paramilitary. Even Buhari, we dont know his age, I think its the problem of the system that allows loopholes which citizens love to exploit. In the U.S or Europe it is not easy to falsify age if you were born there cos of their data capture system. To me anyway, these are petty reasons to be dishonest, life is more than spending more time in civil service. |
Mustay:Thank you Sir. But how is it that many people do it in civil service today and seem to go scot free? |
neolboy:Thanks for the response...I wish i could let him know i represent better Nigeria though he will take offence. Thanks for the input |
Hello Nairalanders I need honest opinion pls: It is very common that people do false declaration of age, for age advantage, to get Government job in Nigeria. My father did that, if not for his age reduction during his recruitment, he would have been retired by now, because he is already 60 but still in the service, where as, the law says that civil servant are to be retired by age 60, either 35 years service is reached or not. Or you can only spend 35 years in service before age 60. My Dad, who is also a senior ranked officer in Nigeria Prison Service, is of the strong opinion that I must reduce my age in this prison recruitment. He says at my age, I will have been retired(clock 60) before spending 35 years service. As a result he expects me to cut my age by 5 The issue is I don't give a Bleep about working in Nigeria civil service for 35 years for personal reasons and ambitions. Nigeria should give me accolade if I can endure 30 years in their system, my opinion though. Besides, by principle, I don't believe in falsification just to gain advantage of 5 more years in service. Moreover, I have this fear that I might be caught if I follow Dad's order because all of my documents have age synchrony. For example 1. My WAEC certificate has my age boldly written on it. (I told dad, he said I shd use NECO result that has no age inscription) 2 My degree Certificate has my date of birth boldly inscribed on it. 3. Nigeria of today has BVN and NIN, of which i used my normal age, and since NIN number is asked for the registration, i'm afraid one might not be able to circumvent. My Dad is stern, highly opinionated, believes he's always right at all time, you don't dare argue with him, he knows also I can be stubborn as well, so he has been on my neck, calling me everyday to remind me that i must reduce my age. (Meanwhile i'm a medical graduate going for the Supretendent cadre) What should i do? I need suggestions and advice, as i'm in a dilemma of offending my Dad for life cos he hardly forgives offence. or can I falsify age without being caught in my situation? Or am i Just being stupid and childish? I need help and and mature contribution pls. |

Having lived for many years in Ibadan, and travelled to major cities in Nigeria, I will say, Ibadan is one of the most underrated city in Nigeria. I wonder why. People talk about brown roof forgetting that Ibadan is the largest city in Africa abi west africa and theres is going to be ancient part of the city with old houses. But then, Ibadan is too big and developed to say all houses are brown roofs. Most people who say that havent even been to Ibadan. You cant live and be familiar with Ibadan city and be saying that thrash. God bless Ibadan. We dont shout. |

If you are still waiting for Npower as a lifeline out of being broke, I guess you are on a long queue of frustration. It's better you give your brain some sense and look for even a better alternative. See reasons below: 1.They feel they are doing us a favour after looting all our treasuries. 2. Forget about them and start your job hunt and other projects as usual before you learnt about them 3. Does the government even think 30k is enough for a normal graduate to feed, transport, buy things, and save.? Npower is more a less a slaving scheme, nothing less 4. Npower owes its beneficiaries, payment, or let me call it wages, are not being paid timely. Can you imagine? How best can you define slaving in the name of empowerment? What is so difficult to ensure government handles the scheme efficiently such that the suffering masses are not cheated or subjected to more hardship if the government is truly sensitive? Are we saying its difficult to find competent and conscientous Nigerians who can manage this scheme well?. Our government is grossly irresponsible. 5. Npower is politically motivated: It is not born out of real commitment to allevaite the sufferings of the unemployed. Think about how woeful the logistics had been. It took 7 months to call for verification after one applied. 7 good months to mark 10 computer based Obj questions and logistics for verification? So sad 6. After wasting 7 months its over two months now, no body knows how far and what next. They are buying time, eating the fund, waiting to use their failed scheme as campaign points. They will all rot in hell. 7. Npower can not be transparent as we were made to believe. Forget it, different talks and rumour emanating about how secret deployments are being done. To every rumour their is an element of truth. 8 Can the organizers of the scheme be so proud that their children is made to suffer like we do and offered crumbs that barely feed dogs for a month in some houses? 9. The scheme was meant to last for, is it two or four years? After which everyone returns to square one, meaning that unemployment will continue as we turn out graduates every year from colleges of education, polytecnics, and Universities, think of hundreds of thousands of jobless souls compounded with the existing ones. Nigeria and government is a failure. 10. As i began earlier, forget about Npower its not worth waiting for, it's a useless scheme hoisted to make it seem like they have any reasonable plan. Continue your struggle/husstling and be more open to other opportunities. Thank you. |
