EducationRe: Expulsion Scandal Rocks Covenant University: 120 Students Expelled by sturvs: 2:40am On Jul 09, 2008
look i went to a religious private university and i agree some of their rules dont make sense in the secular world, but if they set the rules, and you agree to abide by them when ure admitted, the school has every right to expel offenders.

private universities are NOT public property and can set whatever rules they want. if i start a university today and say all my students must wear a uniform (lol), thats my rule & students have to abide by it.

if u dont wanna abide by such rules simply go to OSU or LASU for school. there u'll have to abide by "settings" & cult rules anyway.

PoliticsRe: Fani-Kayode Blames Occultists For 2006 Plane Crashes by sturvs: 11:09pm On Jul 07, 2008
We Nigerians know a lot of things in our world today (not only Africa) have spiritual implications. To have that many crashes in one year might have been due to carelessness of Aviation officials but it could also have had some spiritual backing.

Car accidents, illnesses, plane crashes could all have spiritual implications.

But in the scenario Fani-Kayode is in (secular & legal probation), that is in no way a logical reason. He could say that at home with friends or at church, but not at a panel/hearing.

WebmastersRe: Sturvs Nigerian Search Engine by sturvs(op): 9:33pm On Jun 10, 2008
I've been building on and adding to the facebook app since I launched in Oct 07, but it took me 1 week to put up the initial app. Once you get an understanding of FBML (facebook markup language) and are proficient in any web programming language, it won't really be a hard task. My app was the first Nigerian one, but there are others now. I'm still working on my app, and have the highest number of users among Nigerian apps. I'm planning to add new features to the app soon, and increase my current membership of 5000+ users

Inspiration? Hmm. For me I just hate the idea that Nigerian websites have to be sub-standard. Our websites can be the same quality and even better than what they have in other parts of the world. Afterall, oyibos arent smarter than us. My goal has always been to create top quality websites that can stand strong anywhere in the world.

Also, I encourage our webmasters to not limit themselves. If you see it done somewhere on the internet, you can do it too.
WebmastersRe: How Does Squidoo Works by sturvs: 6:10am On Jun 10, 2008
squiddo is another way to create content on the internet, on a respectable domain (squidoo.com). this means it will get crawled faster than a regular website, and links from your squidoo page will carry more weight.

STURVS has just launched the beta (test) version of its own search engine. The search engine searches the entire internet for search words/phrases but then also displays results from Sturvs.com to the right so you can see what Nigeria has to offer for every search.

Our music has achieved world class status but whats up with Nollywood ? And we claim to be the lagest movie industry after Bollywood
