In the next couple of weeks, ex beauty queen, Matilda Kerry will be hosting her annual ‘Christmas Bake Sale’, an event set up to raise funds for charitable purposes. The event is scheduled to take place at Victoria Crown Plaza Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on December 3, 2011. The maiden edition took place on the 13th of April 2009 to help raise funds towards further development and completion of the Lagos Living and Learning center (Triple L center) for children with developmental disabilities, and was able to raise over a million Naira from the auction.

CHANTERELLE CONCEPTS HOLDS 3 DAY INTENSIVE MAKEUP WORKSHOP
The much anticipated 3-day Intensive makeup class, organised by Bola Akinboade of Chanterelle Concepts in conjunction with Sola Gabriel of MBF Academy, was indeed a great success.
The event, which took place recently at the Ashton & Layton, Opebi, Ikeja, was interactive and interesting.
Participants came from all spheres of life from business executives, bankers, fashion designers, event planners, undergraduate, with a common goal, they all had the flare for makeup.
It was indeed an Intensive Makeup class as the organizers as Chanterelle Concepts and MBF Academy ensured that all the topics were treated with a practical class to go with each illustration. Some of the looks created were: Bridal, Smokey Eye, Flawless Natural, Avant Garde, Evening Look and High Fashion
The three guest speakers from Rhema, who represented Tara Durotoye, Modela and Bayo Hastrup, wowed the participants with their expertise.
Rhema from the House of Tara took the students through step-by- step guide in achieving a flawless bridal makeover. Modela took them through on flawless natural, High Fashion and Avant Garde, while Bayo Hastrup rounded up the teaching with steps in achieving a glamorous evening look. Apart from makeup, students were also taught the art of tying gele. This segment was handled by Tayo Gidado of Morewa Makeover.
It was a worth while experience for the participants as they left with new ideas to sharpen their makeup skills.

My attention has been drawn to the existence of a mischievous and highly ludicrous publication which emanated from a faceless and id-less blog insinuating that I, Omowunmi Akinnifesi Fmr MBGN 2005 dates married men.

While I find the culture and whole idea surrounding blogging to be quite interesting considering the fact that I am equally a blogger, it is shameful that some people in the name of bloggers have turned themselves and their platforms into tools of mischief and destruction.
I wish to state that I am from a very strong Christian home that does not indulge in such act and my life since my ascendancy of the throne and till date is devoid of any such immoral acts. For those who know me, I have always cherished the institution of marriage and regards same as sacrilegious. Hence, at no time and as at date can anybody come out substantiate the allegation orchestrated to deride my image.

I, therefore, urge you all fellow bloggers who might have been lured into the circulation of this ludicrous misinformation to desist from the attempt to disparage blogging which has so far proven to be responsible and respectable. Let us all join hands in condemning the appalling, inhuman and vicious fairy tales painted by these characters.
Finally, for the avoidance of doubt, I have no relationship nor affair with any married man. For now, my future career occupies my focus and not any relationship at all.

It has now been confirmed by the Nigerian Police that the bomb blast that hits Abuja today is a One-man, lone suicide mission by Boko Haram suspect. A suicide bomber sent by Islamic Fundamentalist Group named Boko Haram carried out the explosion.
The Inspector General of Police Hafiz Ringim escaped death as the explosions shattered windows of offices up to the seventh floor of the Police Headquarters in Nigeria’s capital city.
The Nigerian Police Spokesman told reporters that the lone suicide bomber and a traffic policeman were blown to death by the explosions. He said the bomber drove and carried the bomb inside a car suspected to be a Honda Civic. He drove into the complex barely ten minutes after the Police chief arrived. The suicide bomber’s car was headed for the car park where the IGP’s car was parked before it was directed to the general car park by the traffic policeman who died in the explosions.
Hafiz Ringim had only on Tuesday during a visit to Maiduguri vowed to finish off Boko Haram. Many policemen were injured in the stampede that followed the blast. The injured were taken to various hospitals. More than 30 cars were burnt beyond recognition while about 40 other vehicles were shattered by the explosions.
Student of the Police officers wives Association school nearby were also affected but no casualty was confirmed in the school.
