hmmmn, please kindly confirm that my UK MSC and Unilag English degree covers my English Language Proficiency??

chrisj2:
Thanks my good man. I had to go back into many threads to find out that even some degree holders also require English language proficiency test. Nja is not one of the countries that they accept as English speaking...

So, how can one go about doing this test: recognisable certificate, TEFL, TOEFL, ielts or which other ones is acceptable for UK immigration? And where can one do this in Ogun, Lagos or Oyo states?
Thanks in advance
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by subomi2: 9:33am On Jul 31, 2017
If you have a tenancy agreement with all details do you still need a letter from landlord??

Lexusgs430:
Good to go. All that is left is a letter from your landlord and if necessary property inspection report.
TravelRe: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by subomi2: 1:56pm On Jul 26, 2017
was just coming to say this now that the changes have been made and is in effect from August 10. I agree if your lawyer doesnt know it an dpeople like me who is yet to apply know, then you shouldnt be listening to him. @taye
teejay231:
You need to reapply. Pay slips must match with bank statements. Include as many pictures as possible as well as chat and/or call records over the time period of your relationship. Get a letter from your landlord stating spouse is allowed to live with you, including your tenancy agreement if possible and an accommodation report to state that there will be no overcrowding.

The hold on spousal applications has been due to backlog on applications not meeting the financial requirements. This was caused by the Supreme Court ruling in February this year. However, the Home Office made those changes on July 20, 2017 and will begin implementing on August 10, 2017. You can see https://www.freemovement.org.uk/home-office-makes-changes-appendix-fm-minimum-income-rule-following-mm-case/ for more details. If your lawyer doesn't know this, then I do advise that you get yourself a new lawyer or do it yourself. There's a group on Facebook that's also great at helping in this process and afterwards.

I feel your pain in this regard... You can check with "Your Move".... they have a number of houses (to-let) that fits your description. They are also widely recognized in the UK.

Hope this helps....

Council house is no go area. Anything that will make them think that u will rely on the government funds is not a good one. Let your husband rent a room in a flat or something. My little advice though.

good evening everyone,

it's been a tough cookie renting a house, its either no kids or the fact that he has no family around yet or something or house is gone!

has anyone heard about vpsgroup.com ?

i think its a platform to rent council houses? Please can my husband get one of them and use for my application or will it be seen as relying on government or inappropriate??

if we can go ahead, anything to note, please??

Please help everyone?? please pity a wife.

[quote author=Lexusgs430 post=57674562]@justwise and everyone else.

Good Morning. Please help.
1. Hubby has found a good 2 bedroom and all things fine, schools we want for the kids are close by, rent fair enough but house not available until August 1st. However, we have committed to the house, vetting paid, guarantor seen and approved etc.
Ready to pay rent and deposit but hubby needs to be sure that we can go ahead and put in my application using this new house address even though we will not occupy until 1st of august.
if they give us tenancy agreement and proof of rent payment and deposit, can i go ahead with my application rather than wait till august 1 before I apply. Really trying to avoid paying school fees for our two kids in september here again.

2. The TB test requires my spouse's uk address? do we use this new one we are about to pay for or where he is currently staying? what's the implication? Cos i also see that if i need to change anything on the Tb cert again before i use it, i have to pay?

Pls help

Thanks a lot Bibra. Kids were born here in nigeria and have been issued theirs too after they renewed their father's . So no unpaid bill issue. Did my masters cleaned and left 6months before visa expired. So clean Slate by God's grace. About three visits in the last 5 years.

thanks a lot, I do appreciate your time. I'll leave you to pack now. It will be my turn soon in Jesus name.

Hi subomi2,
Yeah my son has his British passport along with his dad . I think it shows further evidence of a relationship .I attached emails and receipts showing the payments we made to the NHS when I gave birth.i think it can work against you if you have unpaid bills.

Yes it was priority application .I also spent 8 months in the last year in the U.K. Breaking my trip up by going on holiday .I explained why I stayed that long .I had a difficult pregnancy so I needed his help .

I think just explain everything to them .

Hello everyone,
I have been following this thread for a while now but as a guest and I must confess it has been so helpful.
My story its going to be a bit lengthy but I hope it would help and encourage someone.
Before I finally settled in the UK, I have been coming to visit since I was a child as my Dad was resident there then. I was not opportuned to be a British citizen because my mum happens to be a second wife that the british would tag to be a "mistress".

In 2014, I came to the UK for my masters and was really hoping I would get a company to sponsor me on a tier 2 visa. I contacted the CIUK after reading numerous success stories and they were so eager to help but unfortunately I couldnt afford the £4000 they wanted then and my dad was not so keen about it. in 2015, I was just going through the UK gov website when I saw that you can not be registered as a British citizen if your dad is a citizen and he is not legally married to your mum. This would only cost me £80 so i felt there was no crime in trying.

I told my parents about it and we all decided to give it a trial with my 3 other siblings. We had a DNA test done at Kings college Hospital to proof paternity. we submitted the application in september and got a positive response in december. we had our citizenship ceremony in January and applied for our passports.

Fastforward to this year. I got married and hubby applied for his spouse visa following the details in the thread. and WE GOT A BIG YES!!!
NB. I was working for an agency and I was been paid using the minimum wage for over 25. I was so skeptical about our meeting the financial requirement but i kept trusting God for the best.

Hi subomi2,

I've come across that form but we didn't need to fill it out for our application.

hello everyone,

has anyone used this house inspection service, just curious about the charges. been to the site and cant see that. I will be happy to have that info.

This wait is not funny...any tips on how to just get by until whenever spouse visa happens especially from my fellow women....

AdimO1:
@ooooyes

Yes, a living room is counted as a sleeping room. So it is fine.

In the application u be asked how many sleeping room, u answer one and they will also ask how many other room (aside, kitchen n bathroom..), then u shud add one....making it a total of 2 rooms.
If u have extra cash , get a property inspection report. That will state if the property is suitable for u , ur son and husband.

- Weigh cost of new accommodation vs present accommodation vs property inspection report
And then decide if present accommodation is more cost effective or new accommodation is better.....

Lexusgs430:
Does it mean we can use the house?? if they inspect, what will they be looking for??

6 months payslips we have, just not all shows he earned atleast 1500pounds per month to multiply by 12 to make 18600. can we use all like that or they must state minimum 1600 earned each month.

IHS... i know i have to pay, i just need something to show him where he can read same.

- Not submitting 6 months pay slip, as requested(its a prerequisites for settlement visa application). Is an instant rejection...........
- Since sponsor resides in a multiple occupancy house, a property inspection is required......
- How do you intend to proceed with your application online, without inserting the IHS payment ?

If you reference back to all the advice offered in the past, all the advice that was offered all still remains valid.....

NB: You can take a risk and submit what you got. But You, I & others can already tell you the outcome of a risky application......

and everyone else..... it has been a horrible long wait trying to fulfill requirements guys. i wont lie.

for those who don't remember my history, i'll gladly summarize. - Hubby is british. we were living together in Nigeria for 5years with our kids who are also british until october last year when he decided to relocate. i am here in Nigeria with kids.
Got 3 months renewable contract NHS admin job in february, just on borderline of 19kpounds before tax. We have about two months payslips that reads 1500pounds+ each month and others before nhs job that read less than 1500pounds. we are planning to wait to have one or two months payslips more to add and then apply. I am tired o. please must it be 6months, please? does it mean no one ever sent less than 6months payslips and got the visa? we have NHS employment letter that doesn't say end of contract....

He is also about to pick up another side job next week just to patch up.

for accommodation, his uncle lives in a 5bedroom apartment with his wife(both use one room), a son in one room and three rooms vacant as two other kids are in uni. He says we can use his house as proof of accommodation? is this true? if true how?? what document will we need to prove that there is space for me and two kids? hubbys name is already on this address as he has been living there since he left nigeria.

Please help or we should just go and get the 2 bedroom flat or house as we planned before? how long should he have lived there before i apply? can we get a 1bedroom house for starters just for this application? we have 5yr old son and 4yr old daughter.

can he pay for my application from over there with his card online and ill just give him log in details? all this gtbank intl limit and co wont let me pay that huge amount online? pls kindly confirm and enlighten me

this nhs thing, hubby says i dont have to pay the surcharge but i know i have to pay, abeg how do i make him understand that i have to. He says he went to gov.uk and there is no option for if your partner is british only applicable to those going to meet people who are on some kinda visas.

me i am even tired of being alone and raising kids alone...him toocant wait. wants kids to start school in september....

please just advise, help, tips, all..wisdom all are very much welcome....please guys

his current accommodation is with his uncle in a 4bedroom where he uses 1 bedrooom.

our plan was for him to get a 2bedroom house 2weeks to my application in June

Leeds to London is almost 170 miles driving, cost by train would be in the region of £120 return daily. Work out the cost and distance, and would such transportation expenses reflect on his bank statements ?

Why does he not want to use his present accommodation ?

Loads of people living in the UK are really having difficulties meeting the spousal visa requirements (not only applicants from Nigeria, but also loads of other countries).

THE VALUE OF THIS THREAD IS TRULY PRICELESS TO APPLICANTS..... ...... ... ..........
