CrimeRe: Husband Arrested For Recording His Dying Wife Without Offering Help by sugarbelly1(op):
CrimeHusband Arrested For Recording His Dying Wife Without Offering Help by sugarbelly1(op): 5:20am On Dec 11, 2015
29-year-old businessman, Oluchi Ajimowu, has been arrested by the State Department for Criminal Investigation, Yaba, Lagos, for his alleged involvement in the death of his wife, 23 year old Priscillia Ajimowu. The couple lived with their children in Festac, Lagos before the wife's demise.

The police think that Ajimowu either slammed his wife’s head on the floor, or the mother of two poisoned herself due to frustrations in her marriage.

Ajimowu claims that he had locked his wife in her room on November 29, seized her phone and went out with their two children, after they arrived from their outing, he reportedly met his wife foaming in the mouth.

His wife who was a nurse had asked to be taken to the hospital, but he allegedly refused, instead he gave her palm oil and recorded her with his phone for about 40 minutes until she died.

It was gathered that prior to her death, Ajimowu had battered and subjected the deceased to inhuman treatment throughout the four years they spent in South Africa.

They decided to relocate to Nigeria. Ajimowu arrived four months ago while the wife arrived on November 27, two days before her death.

It was gathered that Ajimowu had put their house for sale shortly after the wife’s death.
The couple’s oldest child, seven-year-old Ella, said that there was a pesticide and a drink in the room where her mother was on the fateful day, adding that her father was “not nice to my mother” while they were in South Africa.

She said:
“Dad used to shout at mummy and beat her and she would be crying. That day we left her alone in the house. Daddy took the keys and mummy’s phone and locked mummy inside.
“When we came back home, daddy parked outside, locked us inside the car and went inside. After that, he called us to ‘come, come and see your mummy on the floor’. Mummy was saying, ‘Take me to hospital, I’m tired’. He started videoing her. He gave her red oil, but she spat it out. Her body was cold.”
The deceased’s mother, Mrs. Stella Ayobo, said her daughter had planned to visit her on the fateful day, but had cancelled the visit.

She added that Priscillia had not been happy throughout her 7 year marriage to Ajimowu . She added that Oluchi had shortly after his wife’s death reported at the Aguda Police Division, saying a friend took poison and died in his house.

She said:
“Four years ago, they went to South Africa. She always called me to report how Oluchi maltreated her.
“She came back to Nigeria on November 27. She visited me on November 28 and promised to visit me again the following day, being a Sunday. But that day, around 8am, she called me that she would not be able to come again and promised to come with her children on Friday.
“Around 8pm that Sunday, her husband called me that she had been vomiting since morning and I told him to take her to the nearest hospital. He later called me and said it was a poison she took. I told him to bring her. By the time he brought her, she was dead. We took her to a hospital and the doctor said she had died.
“He went to the Aguda Police Station to report that a girl visited him from South Africa, took poison and died in his house.”

The mother urged the police to investigate the matter in order to give justice to the family.

Priscillia’s older sister, Mrs. Emenike Dorcas, said Ajimowu had convinced her sister to come to Nigeria under the pretext that he would open a chemist’s shop for her.

She added:
“I reported the incident to the police at Satellite Town and Aguda divisions. Policemen at Aguda were surprised when they eventually knew the truth of the matter,”.
Priscilla’s uncle, Francis Ayobo, said the suspect was not remorseful after his wife’s death.

He said:
“It is so surprising that the wife was dying and the husband started videoing her. The videos were more than 40 minutes. He sent it to Priscillia’s sister in South Africa. By that time he would have rushed her to a hospital for treatment.
“I noticed that about three other guys were in the background of one of the video because somebody was giving her water and she was foaming in the mouth. Those things should be questioned. He was handed over to SDCI on Wednesday.”
The Lagos State Police spokesperson, DSP Joe Offor, said the Aguda Police Station arrested the husband and have handed him over to the Satellite Town Police Division.

CrimeRobbers Attack Inspector, Steal N50,000(photo) by sugarbelly1(op): 5:44am On Dec 10, 2015
Six suspected armed robbers, who allegedly attacked a female inspector and collected her bag containing N50,000 and other valuables, have been arrested by the Lagos state police command.

Punch Metro gathered that the robbers, at the Idi Oro bus stop in the Mushin area of Lagos, had swooped on the inspector as she alighted from a commercial bus, at about 10.30pm last Wednesday.

The matter was reported at the Anti-Robbery section of the SDCI and 23 suspects were picked up from the bus stop the following day.The inspector was said to have identified six of the suspects as the attackers.

The suspects are Monday Dahoof, 19; Opeyemi Abiodun, 28; Moshood Ibrahim, 27; Ademola Adeyanka, 28; Tope Akinyemi, 34; and Ibrahim Kamilu, 22.

Speaking with PUNCH Metro, the suspects, however, denied attacking the inspector.

One of them, Akinyemi, said he was a fashion designer in the Oloosa area and he was returning from his shop when the police picked him up.

He said,
“I am a family man. I have not met the woman before in my life. I am a fashion designer. I was returning from my shop when the police waylaid and arrested me.”
A police source said that the bag, as well as two Automated Teller Machine cards in it had yet to be recovered.

“We initially arrested 23 of them at the scene of the crime. But the inspector was able to identify six of them. The police woman had just alighted from a commercial bus when the robbers swooped on her. They collected her bag and clothes.“She thereafter reported to the SARS and the suspects were arrested.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Joe Offor, could not be reached for comment.

CrimeAAUA Students Threaten Protest After Cadet Corps Beat Student To Death(pictured) by sugarbelly1(op): 12:39pm On Dec 09, 2015
Students of the Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba Akoko (AAUA) have asked the institution’s authorities to investigate the circumstances that led to the untimely death of their colleague, Ewaworin Oluwamuyiwa, or face a student uprising.
The students allege that a university paramilitary organization, known as the Cadet Corps, beat Mr. Oluwamuyiwa, a 400 level final year student of the Psychology Department, to death on campus.

On Monday, several students close to the deceased informed SaharaReporters that a leader of the Cadet Corps, Adeola Adedoyin (AKA “Iron Body”), commaned the squad responsible for torturing Mr. Oluwamuyiwa to death.

"Oluwamuyiwa was already sleeping when Adedoyin, known as 'Iron body', led his gang of Cadet Corps members into Shanghai Villa [the residency of Oluwamuyia] and asked for the room of Oluwamuyiwa. A resident pointed out the room to Adedoyin,“The next thing we heard was the Cadet Corps banging on the late Oluwamuyiwa's door while they shouted on top of their voice that the young man should open his door or they would force it open,The cadet gang forcefully gained entrance into the room and bounced on top of the victim whom they beat angrily until blood started gushing out from his body,"

Since knowledge of his involvement in the murder of Mr. Oluwamuyiwa became public, Mr. Adedoyin has been on the run.

SaharaReporters gathered that shortly after the gang left, Mr. Oluwamuyiwa was found in a comatose state and gasping for breath inside his room. He was immediately rushed to the Iwaro General Hospital by his co-residents.
"From Iwaro General Hospital, his condition worsened and the doctor on duty advised that he should be transferred to another hospital in Ondo town. He was subsequently rushed to the University Teaching Hospital in Ibadan. A surgery was carried out, but he succumbed to his wounds," a student source said.

The Department of State Security Services (DSS) informed SaharaReporters that they began an investigation into the murder. University management declared the supposed perpetrator, Mr. Adedoyin, as wanted for his involvement in the incident.

CrimeBus Conductor Killed Man A Week To US Travel(photos) by sugarbelly1(op): 5:37am On Dec 09, 2015
Babatunde Omoyeni, a web designer who planned to spend his Christmas and New Year celebrations in the United States of America, has been killed in Lagos over N50.He was to travel on December 10.
After obtaining all travel documents, the 38-year-old decided to go clubbing with his friends on Saturday.

He was returning when he had a disagreement with a bus conductor over the N50 fare and was stabbed to death.

Punch Metro learnt from a police source that angry residents almost lynched the conductor, who was identified as Samson Eletu.
He was reportedly saved by a community leader, who took him to the Aguda Police Division.
The source said,
“The victim was returning home after a party when he entered the bus.“He gave the conductor N500, but the conductor told him he didn’t have N450 change, because the fare was N50.When they got to the bus stop, the man demanded his change and that started a fight. An Alfa in the bus intervened and separated them. But the conductor, who was still aggrieved, trailed the victim to his house.”
It was learnt that Eletu, while armed with a broken bottle, banged on the gate into the house.
“As the deceased opened the gate, Eletu stabbed him. Babatunde took to his heels, but the conductor chased him. Unfortunately, he fell down and the conductor stabbed him repeatedly,”
It was learnt that Eletu was fleeing from the scene when he was nabbed by a suspicious resident who saw blood stains on his clothes.
The younger sister of the victim, Blessing Omoyeni, said his brother would not have died if he was rescued on time. She said he spent over one hour in a pool of blood before he was rushed to the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi Araba.
She said,
“Nobody was ready to assist him to the hospital. A man had to throw himself in front of a commercial bus and asked the passengers to disembark, before he could get help. “He was rushed to LUTH, but they were turned back at the gate by a doctor who pronounced him dead on arrival around 12am.“People started beating the conductor and almost killed him before he was rescued and taken to the Aguda Police Division.”
His girlfriend, Temiloluwa Ogundayo, said Babatunde had recently informed her to prepare for their engagement.Ogundayo, who lived with Babatunde, said she was not aware that he had been killed until the early hours of Sunday.

“We have dated for over one year and he told me to meet my sister to ask for the requirement for our engagement. He said we would go there on Monday.
“On that Saturday morning before he went to work, we made love. He called me around 5pm to prepare food for him that he would soon be home. I had done everything and was waiting for him in the house till 11pm when I drifted off into sleep.
“Around 1am, he came in and slept beside me. He rubbed my head with his hand and I asked him if he had eaten his food, but he said I should not bother, that he was fine.
“I went back to sleep and it was around 6am that somebody called me and asked if I knew he was dead. I jumped up and looked around the bathroom and kitchen to know if he was there, but I couldn’t find him.”
The victim’s friend, Ogunyemi Olaribigbe, described him as quiet and gentle, adding that his death was a big blow to all who knew him.Thirty-two-year-old Eletu said the victim attacked him first.
He said,
“I am also a driver and I had parked my bus at about 7pm when I saw a co-driver who offered to take me home.
“It was along the way that he decided to pick passengers and there were eight of them in the bus.
“I collected money from seven of them, but he refused to pay and said he knew me on the street.
“It was at the bus stop that he broke a bottle and stabbed me in the forehead and cheek. I also got the same bottle, but unfortunately I stabbed him in the neck and he died.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Joe Offor, when contacted promised to call back, but he had yet to do so as of the time of filing this report.
