Nigerian pop star, Davido has unveiled a new act, Mayokun unto his HKN Gang.
Davido, who unveiled the new act at an interactive session with the media moments ago, disclosed that Mayokun, an Afro pop singer is the next best thing in Nigeria.

Mayokun Adewale, who is a graduate of University of Lagos, expressed his excitement over the signing and disclosed that he initially thought it was a scam when Davido sent him a message.

In an exclusive chat with NET, Mayokun disclosed that he met Davido after posting a short performance on Instagram which interested Davido.

‘’It is a dream come true and I feel so excited being signed unto the label.

''I have always hoped to get this sort of chance and Davido coming my way is something that is indescribable.’’

kudos to the military

Kudos to our military men, as they once again achieve another victory in the fight against terrorism. This time around, the troops successfully cleared the Boko Haram spiritual Power Base located in Alagamo Borno, north east Nigeria.



The operation was carried out yesterday by troops of 81 Battalion and 251 Task Force Battalion of 25 Task Force Brigade, 7 Division Nigerian Army.

The troops, swung into action based on tip off, conducted a clearance operation around Alagarno forest general area, destroying terrorists camps at Mosa, Ariwuzumari and Kagalmari, as well as Missene, Joba, Yajiwa and Sansan.

During the operations, the troops were able to clear all the camps, killing quite a number of terrorists and recovered Boko Haram terrorists flags hoisted on some premises, destroyed their logistics base and recovered 31 motorcycles, assorted foodstuffs, a donkey and a pick up van, AK-45 rifle with registration number 17714 and a Dane gun.


Other items recovered include 2 boxes of 7.62mm ammunition, 4 loaded magazines of AK-47 rifles and 2 magazines pack.

Two daring robbers, aged 15 and 16 , got into trouble on Tuesday, a day after they burgled a house in Oke Afa area of Magboro, Ogun State when they simply strolled through the same street with their loot.

A resident, Mr. Ayoade Ahmed, told our correspondent that an eagle-eyed resident spotted the suspect on Tuesday when they carried a television they had stolen the previous day past the street where they had carried out the robbery.



“This kind of robbery attack takes place often. Two of my family friends had been attacked in a similar fashion in recent times. The usual thing is that while you are in church, they would steal your electronics and jewellery,”Ahmed said.

The boys identified simply as Tunde and Omo Mushin, were said to have burgled a house at Oke Afa on Monday afternoon, stealing N600,000 kept in the house including the flat screen television they were caught with and other items.

Ahmed said, “The man only discovered his house had been burgled when he got home around 11pm that day.

“On Tuesday, residents noticed the two boys passing by. One of them carried a television on his head while another carried a ‘Ghana-must-go’ bag. Some young men then challenged them and asked where they were coming from. The boys said they were coming from their house and that they were taking the television for repairs.

“But the explanation they were giving did not sound plausible. It showed in their voices that they were not telling the truth. When they were asked to take people to where they brought the television from, they could not say where the place was.”

Saturday PUNCH learnt that residents pounced on the robbers and beat them mercilessly after stripping them and tying their arms behind their backs.

Tunde was even compelled to call his mother on the phone to tell her what he had done.

The residents interrogating the boys later handed them over to the police at the Ibafo Police Division.

The police said the suspects had been transferred to the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta for further investigations.
