During Covid in 2020, my priest travelled to US for his birthday around February before the lock down, he had the opportunity to return to Nigeria but he stayed back... In the thick of the Covid with death, difficulties and hardship in Nigeria, he was in US chilling and he later started online service.

At that point, I had to have a deep reflection on my life.. I realized I was on my own with my family..The time will spend in church I would rather use it to hustle to provide for my family.
If the Covid virus had ravaged the land with a lot of church members dead, the person we call our shepherd would have safeguarded his own life.


I also stopped because I see churches as building the personal estate and dreams of one individual, while he enjoys a life of comfort and luxury at the expense of members.

To be honest you did not really have a solid plan from the onset. Pregnancy is 5 months gone already.
Your only option is if you can still get admission to a study program for the 2nd cycle(2025.2) that do commence studies by September.
What is your course of study or that of your wife?

I would sincerely appreciate some assistance with my inquiry. I’ve been following this thread since last night but still haven’t found clarity on the next steps to take. Here’s my situation:

My wife is five months pregnant, and we’ve been planning for her to give birth in Brazil. However, we’ve encountered challenges with agents attempting to overcharge us, so someone told me to come seek guidance here.

Initially, I wanted to understand the step-by-step process, from applying for the right visa to obtaining residency. But after reading on here about the high denial rates for tourist visas (especially since neither of us has prior travel history, despite having sufficient proof of funds), I’m feeling quite confused.

Now, I’m considering a student visa as an alternative, but I’m unsure if this is the best option given my wife’s pregnancy. At this point, I’d really appreciate any advice on the most viable path forward and the specific steps we should take.

I don't know how important place of birth is to you that you cannot move on since February, it shows you don't really need the passport.

People are adopting a different local govt based on error just to move on with the process, you are talking of place of birth.

No, I have not been able to fix it. I don't know why NIMC is acting as if this is not an issue. It's either there are too few people like us experiencing or talking about it enough for them to care. It's sad.

The Brazilian citizens go out of their way most times to assist foreigners. I know the level of kindness my course mates and supervisor have extended towards me, to make my life easy here.
Some students in some research project receives mouth watering monthly stipends that you will be amazed at the figures.
It is a good country with so much to offer.

We are naturally selfish. Despite everything being said, Brazil is one of the most generous country towards Africa in general when it comes to visa purposes. I personally know 5 people that got admitted to universities in Brazil with scholarships this year. Nigerians with entitlement mentalities would not cease to surprise me

But it seems convenient to you that people need to travel from their states to Abuja to authenticate and legalize their documents. And also apply for Visas to other countries.

Most times we complain when it affects us personally, we are not really interested in changing the system.

I even stay in ABJ, and it felt ridiculous to me to have to send it to Lagos. I wanted to go to the Abuja embassy to ask, but all indications showed that it would be a waste of time. Hopefully, the delay will be for good news.

With all those negative experiences , you still rated them the best economy class.

To be honest, TAAG economy class is the best i have ever flown and I'm a frequent flyer.The hardware was solid and i don't need any entertainment but their service was the most horrible i have ever experienced. A flight scheduled for 11am from Nigeria end up to 11pm with no explanation,no food nor shelter. As if that was not enough, they took us to a very horrible hotel in Luanda with no explanation still.

14hrs straight flight is hellish. Though the 8hrs flight with TAAG from Launda to Sao Paulo is quite comfortable, better plane with personal TV screen.

I don't know if Air maroc will have a better schedule.

14hrs from Doha to Sao Paulo in an economy class is hell too.

TAAG is cheaper but it is not something one will recommend, it is very discomforting.

I booked the shorter layover flight(6hrs) at Launda, it was hell.
We all say down for the duration of the layover, no where to lay down or sleep, no entertainment, no refreshment, nothing.

After enduring that stress, we now embarked on a 8hrs straight flight from Launda to Sao Paulo.

If you are not strong, you will fall sick.

It is better to book the cheapest dates for Qatar airways(N1.6M), than to suffer with TAAG because of the little difference.

TAAG is a hit and miss. They are not an airline I would want to have a long layover with. Just make sure you book the one with short waiting time . My last layover lasted for 2 days and i lost all the food items in my bag because the luggages didn't arrive with me in Brazil. Ever since,i have been flight Qatar but it's not advisable if you are pregnant because of the distance.

Graduate program, apply and get admission, your tourist visa denial doesn't affect your application for study Visa.

Check university of Mato Grosso do sul, the deadline is very close. See if you can meet up.

The 2 people that were denied visa applied for tourist visa, not study Visa. Let us put this in proper perspective

Guys, my simple truth is this, they seems to be suspecting birth tourism now for every VIVIS applicant. Hence, for tourism, you must be able to prove otherwise. I mean a vivid one. Also ensure that your admission is supported with a scholarship. I think its no longer enough to convince the consulate if you dont have a scholarship, except you show self or sibling/parent POF that is reasonable. Just thinking out loud.

So sorry about your Visa denial.
I will advise you consider study Visa if you really have interest in Brazil. It is easier and surer.

Unfortunately, my application was not approved despite submitting valid and genuine information. Not sure what went wrong.

GCUB 4th edition is officially out today. Start applying.

Hint: go through the list for the last 2 editions, look at schools that gave scholarships to people that applied to same program as your, use that to select your 5 schools. Unicamp and University of são Paulo are highly competitive, look for other good universities you will stand better chances.

Hopefully, within this June.

Focus more on applying to schools direct, GCUB took less than 40 Nigerians last year, but more people got admission and scholarship through application to schools direct.

Brazil is a nice and chilled country, I have been enjoying my stay here since I arrived. Their educational standard is very high.

I might look into this Brazil PG studies as Nigeria is getting worse.
3 of my course mates went to Brazil since 2014 and 2 did post-doc in the US.

Pls sir, this letter of recommendation, are will using it during registration or we only need it during visa process.

Even their JW.org website found it difficult to even explain their scriptural backing of no blood transfusion.

What the Bible said was mainly consumption of animal blood as food, some people cook animal food( blood meal) and eat it as food.
The Bible talked about "eat", it never said anything related to health or transfusion when sick.

The same scripture also talked about avoiding eating strangled animal and sexual immorality, but they will ignore those ones and obey only those they instructed them to follow religiously.

You and your wife should go for medical examination. It is abnormal to put sperm in an ovulating woman without family planning for 2 months and not get her pregnant. Infection is a potential cause.
