I understand your annoyance with how OP crafted his post. However, the reality is that someone with an open mind who leaves Nigeria to live for a short period of time in developed countries or places where the system works would be angry with the state of Nigeria. Nevertheless, that is not necessarily a place to "curse" Nigeria, but ponder why our case is different. I say this because as much as Switzerland is highly developed, black people don't have an equivalent. Chinese do, so do the Japanese and Koreans. Even Arabs now do in the place of Dubai.

That should be the focal point: how come others have a functioning enclave of theirs, but we don't?

P.S. Enclave should have at least 5 million residents before someone mentions Botswana and Barbados to me. 🙄

I have travelled to over 15 African countries and Nigeria as bad as it is, is heaven compared to others.

I won’t lie — I get really sad whenever I remember Africa, especially Nigeria. Chile is regarded as a developing country, and while I’ve lived here for 16 months, I don’t see anything “developing” about Chile. I mean, you’d go to a conference, and when they ask developing nations to stand up, Nigeria, other African countries, and Chile would all rise together. That comparison makes zero sense to me.

I lived in Lagos, Nigeria’s biggest metropolitan city, and until I left, we never had running water. We always had to pump water from a borehole, and even then, the water wasn’t drinkable. We had to buy sachets of pure water every single week. There was no waste management system, so whenever our waste bin got full, we had to wake up at 6 a.m. to find an aboki (waste collector) to come and carry the trash. This was in 2024, in the largest and most modern city in Nigeria.

If life in Lagos is like that, I can’t even begin to imagine how life is in the smaller towns and villages across Nigeria. The disparity becomes even starker when I compare it to Chile. I briefly went out with a Chilean girl who invited me to visit her village, and to my surprise, her village had piped running water in every home, stable electricity, and a waste management system. A village!

Back home, we haven’t even solved the most basic issues in many African countries — how can we begin to tackle larger problems like growing the economy or creating jobs? Anytime I think about Africa, I feel a deep sadness. It’s frustrating to see how far behind we are, even on the fundamentals that make life livable. The black man has failed!!!!

Colonization is the cause of poverty in Africa why then are Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia who also were colonized developed more the any African Country.

IQ is real.

The IQ test average I qouted was conducted by an European source but it placed East Asians ahead of Europeans, how then is it propaganda.

I recently returned from the core North after over a month stay there... I went to the rural and the urban part and interacted with the locals. I don't need any research or test to know that Northern Nigeria has a lower IQ than Southern Nigeria.

IQ is real and it's tie to development.

I have researched on this topic before and it all boils down to IQ.

Average IQ in Sub-saharan Africa is 68, in Europe is 100 and 105 in East Asia.

East Asians like Japanese, South Koreans and Chinese are more intelligent and do well in maths than Europeans.

There is nothing wrong with us black people that's just how we are created.

In Nigeria, the majority of the people would reject intelligent leaders. See how GRV that finished from M.I.T was vehemently rejected.

I just don’t know the solution, but it hurts, it really does.

I am a black man, I want to have my black nation that works like France, Sweden, Germany, USA, Russia, Denmark… where there is 24/7 power and tap water for instance.

However, in my reality, even outside my street in Victoria Island, the gutters are open in 2024 and when I stroll, I have to brace myself to see the dirtiest gutter substances and this will remain so cause no one in power thinks covering a gutter even with the cheapest of materials is worth doing.

Not to even talk of water and electricity.

Not to talk of driving and getting drivers to stay in lanes, that is if the road even has lanes painted on them, cause again, some people don’t see the point of having lanes drawn on roads, another agebo talk…
