The only reason Russia has not made a very fast advance is its reluctance to unleash "shock and awe" as the US did when invading iraq. Go and watch videos of the first few days of the gulf War. The US bombed Bagdad to submission. On the skyline of Bagdad continuous explosions. Have you seen that happen in Ukraine? You see Ukrainians stand in front of a Russian military convoy and it stops to avoid them. Which Iraqi could try that on the US troops? A sure one way ticket to the grave.
Obviously most folks get their news from western propaganda. CNN and other msm.

Russia started this whole crisis by taking over Crimea(Ukrainian territory).

Instead of finding peaceful ways to settle with ukraine, they gave arms to certain part of ukraine close to its border,(Donbas) leading to chaos and fighting inside ukraine.

The leaders of ukraine getting frustrated and afraid of what might come next, decide to ally with America and join NATO because of bullying from dictator Putin. Russia claim this is a threat to it security and decided to invade and kill ukranians.

It's the oppression, lies, land grabbing adventure and bullying from Russia that caused almost every country around Russia to want to join NATO, But russian trolls want you to think it's America's fault

It will cripple domestic currency, thereby causing hyperinflation; cause trade deficit, thereby punching the balance of trade; ground the revenue, thereby clogging the national budget; cause wide gulf in technology exchange, thereby leading to loss of researchers ets.....

Sanctions has long term effect, that's why the Iranians' currency is weak and almost useless till today.

Russia made it simple. We don't want Nato military base close to our brothers... But US started making propaganda of signing Ukraine and Georgia to Nato in 2008. Russia first declare war on Georgia that same year but it ended quickly.... then they started invading Ukraine space in 2014
