But do u agree with KingEbukas view on the eventual coming of Jesus Christ to judge the unbelievers?
Unbelievers are judged everyday. if a trailer falls on someone thats judgement, if a container falls on you and you are crushed to death - its judgement, you get cancer - its judgement - car accident ? - its judgement - you lose your home and become homeless ? its judgement. every evil is judgement. nothing is coincidental. there are no coincidences wink

So Christ is the key out of delusion?
everything in life is a delusion so there is no getting out of any delusion. The question is does your delusion prevent you or encourage you to break cosmic laws ? The only people ( very few on this planet ) who are free from delusions are the ascended masters whom all the keys and secrets have been revealed to. everybody else is under one form of delusion or the other. religion you can say is a delusion but then again it is a necessary delusion because you need symbolic physical representation of the invisible cosmic laws, so in essence it is an essential delusion to humanity. wink

Mr. Sukkottt let's move over from scrutiny to discussion.

What do u think is the purpose of life?
The purpose of life ? well the world is a stage and we are the actors, and in that stage is ' PLAY ' that has been cosmically scripted. whatever part you get to play as an actor on this world stage depends on how many cosmic laws you break, or dont break if thats the case. The more cosmic laws you break the shittier the role you will play. so our purpose here is to be actors on this world stage and part of that process includes auditioning. so basically your life now is an audition for a role in your next reincarnation, or you may very well be in the role after auditioning in previous reincarnation. key here is to obey the cosmic laws or as some call it ? GODS COMMANDMENTS wink

Can you list the developments in Lagos that attracted the British?

Don't get me wrong, Lagos had a way of live, an ecosystem, settlements, building, a system; just like any other city then; and Lagos' way of life might have been more 'sophisticated' compare to other cities then, because they were in closer proximity to the Portuguese when they were around.

Where I differ from you is, your assertion that wrongly stated that, it was these inland 'developments' and not the ports that attracted the British.
AHHHH you are finally starting to see the light. wink

At least, we both agreed on one thing, i.e. the westerners aka Portuguese made an in road first into Lagos through their slave trade. These Portuguese established a footprint that the British used to establish hold on Lagos. In the 1700s before the abolishment of slavery, Bight of Benin (Benin Republic) & Lagos (Nigeria) were the major ports in Africa and the last point before onward sailing to Europe, Calabar & Bonny were established later, but they were not as big as Lagos. Lagos was kind of a confluence as other small port cities ship into it, all these were established by the Portuguese.

When the British came, they landed on the same port, it was the already made port that attracted them, the Portuguese built the port to enhance their slave trades, the Lagos Obas did not build it.

There were no developments in mainland Lagos that attracted the British, they were leaving on their ships right at the port until they were able to build quasi-permanent shelters in mainland Lagos.

If you look at all the cities in West Africa that, the British first annexed e.g. Ouidah, Porto Novo, Freetown, Victoria, Badagry, etc; they are all port cities, first established by the Portuguese and used for docking their slave ships, the British merely re-used what the Portuguese built and left behind.
they made no in-road. they only stayed at the port. its the british who made in-roads bro. lagos was developed before the british came. i have a book for you to read to get the real facts

You are putting the cart before the horse, The Portuguese first made contact with Lagos in 1472, through the Atlantic Ocean exploration. Oba Kosoko did not start his reign until 1845. I believe you would have noticed the similarity between the name 'Lagos, Nigeria' and 'Lagos, Portugal', another port city in Portugal. Lagos means lake in Portuguese and the Portuguese first named 'Lago de Curamo'.

Also, he did not fly slaves to America or Europe, it was the colonial masters that bought these slaves in exchange for the money he got. In 1472 when westerners first step into Lagos, it was no more developed than other port areas of Nigeria, which were further away from Europe.

I can't believe that, in the face of the overwhelming evidences, you are arguing against the fact that, Lagos was favored because of it's port city and proximity factors and the development of the region can be directly linked to the visit of the westerners.
i believe you are the one mistaken. you are merging two eras and two peoples ( british and portuguese ) that have nothing to do with each other. after slavery was outlawed the portuguese left nigeria and the portuguese did not come to lagos to live. they didnt try to build or do anything but buy slaves. that was a different era. and the money from that trade was used by the lagos kings to develop lagos. and when slavery was outlawed the portuguese left. then a few decades after that is when colonialism by the british started and they found a favorable developed city in lagos to operate from and colluded with the kings of lagos. you need to brush up on your history bro

Coming from Europe, Lagos was the close port of entry into Nigeria from the Atlantic.

o, it was more advantageous to be chosen by our colonial masters as their capital. And as such, was one of the first territories to be seized by the British in 1887, the British then made it their headquarters and started the development. They didn't seize it or landed there because of the wisdom or abitilies of the people living there at that time, the contrary is the truth, the Bristish saw a good closer port of entry and seized it inspite of the objections and resistance of the locals.

Most of all these is documented history.
very myopic. before colonialism lagos was developed with slavery money by oba kosoko and madam tinubu and oba akitoye. lagos was somewhat developed before colonialism by the white man. they came to lagos and found a very favorable environment to operate because it had been developed is why they decided to choose to stay.

Lagos was made capital because of its favourable location on the sea. It's West Africa's most natural harbour. Google is your friend bro! Stop all this your chest beating, it's no use!

So why did you lose the capital city status to Abuja? I guess your people suddenly became dumb asses, abi?
Nigeria is really divided with our youths chasing shadows! I am sure Nigeria would have benefited greatly if you and I came together to establish a venture as profitable and competitive as multichoise or alibaba for instance notwithstanding that I am Igbo and you Yoruba. It's high time we Nigerian youths started directing our energies to worthwhile things instead of making a mockery of our nationhood here on Nairaland and other social media! At this rate, we will never catch up with the likes of south Africa not to talk of China and Europe! I have said my own sha. One love!
life is not a competition bro. thats where you get it all wrong. we shall run the race at our own pace. one luv bro

Your ex-wife does not want you anymore. So stop carrying out your frustration on her on all Yoruba women. Your mother comes from a beggar and despicable stock. Your whole mother's Romanian beggar ancestors don't come near to Yoruba women. Those dirty criminals always robbing people all over Europe and smelling like 10day old refuse. My brother, I just don't get all this your acumen theory! We all know it was the colonial masters that made Lagos capital in the first place. So who used his acumen to lobby for that? Awolowo who wasn't even born then? Or who else? Tell me! I guess you're more intelligent than this man! As for Abuja, we all know how the North arm twisted and bamboozled everyone else with the argument that Nigeria needed a less crowded and more centrally located capital city to foist Abuja on us by military Fiat that was decreed into law by the late Murtala Muhammed on the 3rd of February, 1976 just ten days to his assassination! You and I know what happened during the war and immediately after. The North were calling the shots at the federal level and no one could do anything about it. So Yorubas were dumb to have allowed the capital city status moved away from Lagos? Bros stop misrepresenting facts on social media. It shows you off in bad light. I guess I must have corrected the wrong impression you were trying so hard to create for the benefit of discerning readers. Shalom!
nah bro we had more powerful people before awolowo. we had madam tinubu and oba kosoko and oba akitoye and lamurudu wink

if you think kosoko was a stooge i suggest you read up about him. that crazy nigga named kosoko used to go and pack slaves from the east after conquering your ancestors and sell them to the white man. he was a big time slave trader who was running lagos. yoruba has always had powerful leaders and lobbyists. tinubu today is carrying on the tradition
