Okay let’s assume they managed to get the aircrafts flying again, it will fly but not with the US military configuration which the planes were designed for. So it still won’t be as capable as its original state.

First, there’s no job that pays $400 a month in the US. Even cleaners or dish washers makes upto $2000 a month before tax.

2nd, 400k monthly in Nigeria for a relatively stable job is very good deal.

Finally; if your Visa is an immigrant visa that could lead to permanent residency great! You have better opportunities here.
But if it’s a visa that would expire and you have to hustle your way to find papers, please stay back and enjoy your 400k job. You will live a better life in Naija with that amount than moving to an unknown zone without paper after your visa expires.

That being said, Don’t compare $3000 a month in US to 400k naira in Naija o. After tax you could be left with like 2,000… then you pay for health insurance, car insurance, rent (monthly), rental insurance for your apt … then that whole 3k barely remains nothing much. You just might have other opportunities to make more money if you have your papers though.

The same military personnel that was trained by the US, are definitely sympathetic to the Taliban mission, hence there was less resistance from them.

Iran's Islamic goverment got their hands on American f16 fighters left for them by the Shah in 1979. Five years later all of those planes were grounded. No spare parts. And the US was their enemy

They have no idea that it’s harder to get spare parts, it even more expensive than to get the plane itself.

Not thousands of their civilians but military personnel. Yes it makes a lot of sense to leave a small batch/presence until the last airlift.

Although I think personally that the Taliban permitted it to happen. No way in the world that they wouldn't have known it was about to happen. Even USA and UK got intelligence and warned their citizens. I'm sure they must've shared Intel with the Taliban. My take is that the Taliban allowed it to happen without attempting to go after ISIS-K to stop them. Clearly no love lost between them.
It is also a sign of things to come.. the Taliban will not or can not rein in on terrorists in Afghanistan

It’s just the beginning on the shi.t show that’s about to unfold in that country.

The Taliban override the Afghan army and they won but now they have to fight off resistance from the re-grouped Afghan army and the ISIS … this cycle might just keep going especially since no western country want to trust or work with the Taliban.
