March 1 is " No Banking Day" Protest against excessive bank charges Dear Nigerian Banks Consumers. For many years now, consumers of banking services have been subject to series of poor and unsatisfactory transaction and relationship terms. We have endured excessive charges, illegal fees and unfair contracts that only protects the bank but does not protect the consumers. Banks debit our accounts at will for charges we never agreed to or were not aware of; they charge us for every little service; we pay for getting our statements; introduction letters; and now, some banks are charging N200 for the use of deposit and transfer forms! Under the current CBN management, abolished fees are being reintroduced. ATM withdrawals that was free now cost N65 on 3rd withdrawals. We pay N1000 for debit card issuance and renewals; we pay N105 for every online transfer; and they still charge N105 as Annual Debit Card Maintenance and now, a new Stamp Duty charge of N50 on every credit of over N1000 has just been introduced. COT that was supposed to end finally in 2016 is now being reintroduced as 1% of every withdrawal purportedly as Monthly Current Account Maintenance Fees! This is unacceptable! The fact is, Consumers are being exploited by all the banks and CBN is aiding and encouraging these exploitations. We cannot continue to endure this exploitations! That is why Consumer Advocacy Foundation of Nigeria CAFON, a consumer rights NGO is calling consumers to join us in protest of Banking Exploitation by declaring Tuesday, March 1 2016 as NO BANKING DAY! Our Demands: a) we want bank charges reviewed downwards b) banks must clear fees with consumers BEFORE debiting our accounts c) bank forms and contracts must be reviewed to include more protection for consumers d) Consumer complaints must be resolved promptly and satisfactorily d) CBN must review the new Stamp Duty Charge, Account Maintenance Charge AND Debit Card Maintenance Fees. We urge ALL consumers to boycott ALL banking services in protest of these excessive charges and policies. That means on Tuesday March 1: 1. Don't visit any bank or branches to transact any business 2. Don't use your ATM from 12a.m -12 midnight on March 1 3. Don't log in to any of your accounts online and don't do any transfers from 12am-12 midnight 4. Don't make any online payments from 12am- 12 midnight 5. Don't issue any cheques or banking instruments dated March 1, 2016 6. Avoid doing any financial transactions on March 1 but if you must, avoid the banks! We can all commit to observe a No Banking Day Protest to press home our demands. After all, if we don't patronize them, they can't be in business. Please sign this petition if you agree to join the protest and share with your friends and family until we have mass awareness so everyone can observe the No Banking Day Protest. It is not right, so let's use our Rights! Please share this message amongst your contacts, if you agree Signed Sola Salako President CAFON |

- You were born in a first class clinic, I was delivered at home but we both survived. - You went to a private school and I went to a razz government school, but we both ended in the same varsity/ college. - You woke up from the bed and I woke from the floor but we both had a peaceful night rest. - You drank hennessy & champagne & I drank four cousins wine but we both still got high. - Your outfits are all expensive, mine are all simple and cheap but we both still cover our unclothedness. - You ate fried rice and roasted chicken, I ate pap and akara but we both still ate to our satisfaction. - You ride on lexus jeep and I use public transport but we still got to our various destination. - You may be reading this post from your sony xperia, q10, Iphone6+ and I typed it with my outdated nokia x2, but we still see the same thing. Dear readers, life is not a competition and there are different ways to get a lot of things done; different lanes all leading to the same destination, just because your neighbor is doing things faster does not mean you are failing. Happiness doesn’t come from having everything, but from making the best out of what you have, it’s all about how you see yourself. Stay on your own lane and forge ahead..... |
If I am the present president of Nigeria; I will send the 11 presidential jets to South Africa to make several trips there until all the Nigerians living in South Africa are been evacuated back to Nigeria. Then I will direct NCAA,NCC and NBC to withdraw the operating licenses of South Africa's companies like Multi-choice,DSTV and South Africa's airlines making billions of naira monthly here in our great country Nigeria. Now that's to send a message to South African's that Nigeria as a country will not joke with the lives and economic well-being of her citizens home or abroad who are being made vicitms of fraudulent exploitation, scams and Xenophobia. #ActivistNigeria. #NewNigeriaNetwork. |

Hello good people, vote your conscience. Don't be manipulated. If your pastor says don't vote for a Muslim, ask him if Daniel served a saint; whether Modeccai did not serve King Ahaseurus and if Joseph was not a prime Minister under Pharaoh. This election is not about North versus South, nor is it Christian versus Muslim. It is about Nigeria and good governance. Don't allow politicians divide us. When they share money, they don't talk about religion. When they want donations from Aliko Dangote, they don't remember he is a Muslim. When they enter an aircraft, they don't ask the religious faith of the pilot. When their bosses are atheists, they don't resign from the job. When an Alhaji gives them contracts, they don't reject it. They and their wives go to Dubai to spend money. Dubai is in United Arab Emirate but they have no problems buying houses in Dubai. But when it comes to politics back home, they say they want to ISLAMISE you. Yet, some of these people were spiritual consultants to Abacha. Vote your conscience. If you want to vote for Jonathan, vote for him based on your conviction that he has performed in your estimation and not because he is a "Christian". If you want to vote for Buhari, vote for him because you feel disenchanted with Jonathan government, not because he is a Muslim. Say NO to bigotry. God bless Nigeria. |
