Family / Re: Best City To Raise A Family In Nigeria by sundaysule: 11:07pm On Sep 05, 2011
Teslim – It is indeed true that you have the right to express your opinion in a forum such as these; it is equally true that your particular view on this occasion is slightly superficial and shallow.  One should of course go to great length in choosing where to raise children (given the choice), I however don’t think an accent nor intonation is one those important factors.  I am an employer, and in my selection criterion, I will certainly be prevalence in considering a candidate that speaks with good constructs, have clarity of thoughts and expressions and displays intelligence and depth of knowledge over one that simply has good phonetics.  I think the world has seriously moved on from being this aesthetic.

Pafuri – There is simply no need to go to that level of derision and diatribes in reacting to Teslim.  I quite frankly think you allow your frustrations to get the best out of you.  Civility, courtesy and diplomacy in a forum such as this, especially when the issue being discussed is somewhat serious, is I think very important, and will only help all of us to become even more knowledgeable in the subject-matter.

The most important thing however is to know that no matter where you find yourself and your children, bring them up to the best of your knowledge and ability, and the outside world will have little or no influence in their development.  Thanks.

Politics / Re: Results Of Pdp Presidential Primaries (live) by sundaysule: 6:49pm On Jan 14, 2011
This has been an educative discussion forum on a very important topic.  However, will people stop quoting some predictions by a prophet?  T.B Joshua and his likes makes their daily living by predicting probabilities . . if it's not white, then it will be black kind of thing, you know the kind of thing that I don't expect many contributing to this forum to take seriously.  Please leave religion out for a minute and let us deliberate on this issue without the aid of any spiritual messenger which may be or may not be telling the truth.

Back to topic, I don't know much about either  candidates expect that one was VP of the country for many years during when his government achieved nothing - and he has in fact being indicted for money laundering in the US (that may be a red herring though knowing US's record, they are not exactly a glowing example).  The other candidate has been in power for more than a year and nothing has changed tangibly in that period.  Isn't this a bit of a worry for our nation?  Where are the Obama's and the Cameron's of Nigeria?  When do we start seeing real agents of change in this country?  Please school me.

Religion / Re: Church Gate Fee: Pastors Condemn Oyakhilome by sundaysule: 6:15am On Jan 11, 2011
It's one thing to have a "faith", it's another thing to be foolish.  If these people honestly believe that they need to be in the premises of a church at the stroke of 12 midnight on new-year's eves, then they deserved to be charged for it . . . ignorance costs!  Pastor Chris is one of many astute business men who masquerades as "Men Of God".  I just hope there are still many of this gullible fools around when I start my own church.  I'm coming with hard sales method and technology like never seen before.  Forget about Healing School, I'm having speaking-in-tongue school, fast miracle school, quick prosperity school and what I hope to be a best seller will be my anointed products shop.  I think 10% tight is now old school, tight in my church will be set at variable rate, depending on your income.

I believe in God, I believe Jesus is His son, I don't however believe church is necessary.  At best, the church is a good social forum, at worst (which is often the case) it is suppressive, repressive, divisive and fear mongering.  Church is there to make you feel bad about your short-falls, to squeeze out all minute self-confidence you may have, to make you believe that all bad things that happens to you are as a result of "the enemy", "Satan" and not to forget the favourites - "house-hold wickedness and generational courses". It is not a sin not to be a member of a church.  If you are christian, build on your relationship with God first, really study the bible and don't let people peddle lies and falsehood to you.  No single human being is better or closer to God than you.  we are all anointed of God as Jesus died for all our sins on the cross, we are all men and women of God.  You can pray all you want, give people like pastor Chris all your hard earned money, if you don't work hard or use your God-given brain to develop ideas that will make you rich, you are most likely will die a poor or at best an average person.
