Summary:
The U.S. Mission in Brasilia is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Supervisory Human Resources Specialist in the Human Resources Office (HR).

The work schedule for this position is Full Time (40 hours per week).

Supervisory Position
Duties
Basic Function of the Position –

Incumbent supervises the HR Payroll and Locally Employed (LE) Staff Benefits teams for Mission Brazil, which comprises 1,500 employees. S/he serves as the payroll coordinator for all of Mission Brazil and is responsible for benefits and time and attendance (T&A) reporting for LE Staff of all USG agencies under Chief of Mission authority.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that over USD $1.7 million in payroll is correctly processed each pay period and has a financial impact on every employee in the Mission. The incumbent supervises three LE Staff and reports directly to the Senior Human Resources Officer (S/HRO).


Qualifications and Evaluations
Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: Specialized work experience in the pay and benefits field, which include payroll auditing and reconciliation for a large organization is required. Supervisory experience required.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, Public Administration, or Human Resources Management is required.

Evaluations:
LANGUAGE: (This may be tested)

Level IV (fluent) reading/writing/speaking in English is required.

U.S lawmaker, Josh Gottheimer, sponsored Sowore’s nomination. According to him, “For months now, I have been working closely with the Sowore family, the Haworth community, the State Department, and my colleagues to advocate on Yele’s (Omoyele) behalf.

“We are urging the Nigerian Government to protect Yele’s safety, provide him with the due process he deserves, and ultimately permit him to return home as soon as possible.
