Yes because if you downgrade the firmware, the baseband will remain the same. ATM, you can't downgrade the baseband of iPhone 4.

Cos for now d baseband 4.12 cant be unlocked either tru gevey or software unlock; u will hv to downgrade to an unlockable one n thats if u had saved d SHSH files

Lynxnoon, sorry you will not be graduating this year in your iOS course because you have failed to improve in your iOS studies. Therefore I'm so sorry to inform you that; you will be graduating next year. iPhone 4 baseband CAN'T BE DOWNGRADED". SHSH or no SHSH, you can't downgrade it. You can only downgrade firmware and not baseband.

You need to factory unlock the phone. Jailbreak alone can't unlock that your iPhone. What's your iPhone's model number?

Dude, easy oooo. Hope U are using a custom firmware. If not sorry oo. Anyway this is the deal. Download sn0wbreeze 2.9.6, and I'm sure you already have 5.1.1 firmware. Use the snowbreeze to prepare a custom firmware. It's the firmware you make off sn0wbreeze, you will use to upgrade the iPhone.

The reason you need snowbreeze is to make your baseband remain at 04.10.01 so that at the end of the day your Gevey will still work.
