Overview
We need a Sales Engineer (SE) to work in our Engineering department and supporting business development and sales activities. This job involves 80% electro-mechanical engineering and 20% sales. The primary duties include developing, implementing and maintaining engineering solutions in the power sector – power generation (gas and steam turbines), power distribution and transmission, and renewable energy. The candidate may also be required to support Hydrogen plants and our oil & gas engineering initiatives.

The candidate will help to analyse the needs of customers, research the market and present technology and engineering products, solutions and services to the customers. The resource will listen to customer requirements and in liaison with our senior technical team members, OEM partners and external consultants, make appropriate recommendations and presentations to support sales effort.

Additionally, the SE will support in reaching out to existing and potential clients assigned to him/her, manage the relationships, prepare high class professional presentations and detailed business proposals. He/She will work both in the office and in the field, therefore, national and international travel will be required. The resource will also support the sales and marketing director, and Projects and Business Development Director and Managers, in their business development and marketing efforts.

Job Description
• Carrying our customer needs analysis, gathering market and customer information to develop the customer requirements
• Developing technical solutions and products for customers, sometimes, in liaison with Engineering teams, our OEMs and suppliers
• Solutions of focus are primarily in power generation, distribution and renewable energy, and Oil & Gas is secondary.
• Acting as a point of contact between customers and Tungsten Energy
• Supporting the relevant managers in negotiating terms of sales and agreements and closing sales with customers
• Responding to customer queries and resolving their concerns to get them to make a purchase
• Advising product and service developers on improvements to include in forthcoming product developments and discussing special promotions
• Creating proposal documents as part of the formal bidding and/or procurement procedure, including detailed and accurate quotations and cost calculations
• Liaising with OEMs and Tungsten’s suppliers on pricing, marketing strategies and efforts, and sales
• Supporting Project Director and other superiors in coordinating after sales support and services
• Supporting in the costing of products and services
• Carry out own market research for new potential markets.
• Schedule customer visits, promote the company and generate interest in the solutions and services we offer.
• Provide weekly call visit report.

• Provide monthly quotation report/with forecast of expected orders
• Work with team for marketing/improve the company services in various market sectors
• Carrying out any other task that may be assigned by the Managing Director, other Directors or line Manager



Skills and qualifications
The Sales Engineer should be versatile in Engineering services and products, Business-to-Business (B2B) and Business-to-Customer (B2C) sectors. Someone that is target driven and can work in high- pressure situations. Additional skills and qualifications required for this role include:
• Foundation to intermediate level experience in engineering – adequate training will be provided to the right candidate
• Ability to develop engineering designs and drawings
• Excellent verbal and communication skills and the ability to speak local languages
• Good listening skills and attention to details
• High level of resilience and the ability to handle rejection well
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to flourish in a competitive industry
• A great sense of self-motivation, ambition and determination
• Ability to achieve desired results both individually and as a part of a team
• Excellent presentation and negotiation skills
• Good self-management skills and ability to prioritise tasks effectively
• Intermediate user of Microsoft Office especially Power Point and Excel
• Able to use the web and mobile applications for internal and external collaborations

Experience required
• Minimum of two years work experience of which NYSC may count depending on the company of primary assignment.
• Fresh graduates with 2.1 and from top universities may be considered
• Ideally, a candidate with knowledge of science and engineering or have worked in an engineering company will be preferred. Candidates who have worked directly with customers and in sales departments of engineering services companies, but willing to develop their engineering skills further will also be considered
• Experience in public speaking, negotiation, CRM systems or social media marketing are also beneficial.

Education and training
Candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in any engineering discipline will be preferred. Candidates with other degrees but have worked in engineering or technology services companies will be considered.
Candidate must be a resident of Port Harcourt, Rivers State where the operational office is Salary: Starting salary of between N150,000 to N200,000 per month, depending on experience
