Bro i hold an exception to the name given to children affecting them instead i believe its family rites and rituals performed on a child wen dey are born dat exposes them to dis demons.
D story of jabez supports my stand on dis because it was never mentioned that God gave him another name. As a matter of fact Jabez was even more honourable dan his brethren b4 he prayed d famous prayer. It wasn't mentioned if it was God who changed the name of saul to paul in d Bible so it could av been done by individual conviction. Today we have famous men of God who have genuine encounters and dey still retain their old names.
From the Scriptures, we can see dat it usually wen God makes a covenant with individuals dat He usually gives dem a new name to signify that covenant. We are under a new covenant and according to Scriptures, we will all b given a new name wen d time comes.
However, its good to give the best of names to our children cos dat is wat dey will b called truout life but am of d opinion dat it doesn't necessarily mean a change of name is compulsory. A good example of dis is in a childhood friend of mine who happened to come from d riverine part of niger delta, dey were all born in "Christian homes" and bear christian names. Infact d name of the lady was repentance. I was told(by her sibling who was very close) dat after dey are born, dey were usually taken to their hometown for some rites which involved throwing d baby into d river(all in d name of give to ceasar wat belongs to him). Dey eventually became very promiscuous later in life(evidence of marine spirit)

The venue was a small room at the back of our church auditorium, the door was marked `Counselling and Deliverance Room” and piercing the peaceful morning is the voice of a demon; a chief among demons, the smaller mischievous ones had departed some few minutes into the ministration. That particular morning we decided to show the lousy demon he is not the only noise maker in town and so the three of us; in our not so melodious voice raised our voice of worship to God to sing songs we know demons hate with passion:

Background
The dear Sister despite being only in her early 20s has suffered more misfortune than most people in their entire life, she gave her life to Christ some years before that ministration but never enjoyed the fruit of salvation for long. The ugly demon calling himself 'beautiful serpent' has made all attempt to kill and frustrate her destiny, she has prayed and fasted but got very little results.

The demon came into and had been operating in her since she was 7 days old, how?

Her Name

She was christen with a name which in english means ‘Beautiful Serpent’.

Jabez was more honorable than his brothers. His mother had named him Jabez, saying, "I gave birth to him in pain'

Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, "Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain."

Jabez, a noble man suffered pains because he was named so and that gave resident permit to the demon of pains to torment his life until he cried out to God.

Are given names that powerful?

Names are powerful and spiritual, they are an invocation on the child……. some cultures give name to children after the idol or deity worshiped in the household or village of birth, such invocation definitely opens the child up for the household demons.

Like I made mentioned earlier in my tribe, names like Babatunde (Our dead father returns again), Esubiyi (Esu deity gave birth to this), Fafunmbi (The Ifa diety gave this to me) etc are quite common, these names give legal ground for the ruling demons to gain access into the life of a Child.


Some names sound cool but the meaning like that of the Sister I described arent, e.g
Cecilia means Blind
James/Jacobs is Supplanter
Mary means Bitter/Rebellion
Lola (not the Yoruba one) means lady of sorrow and
Belinda means beautiful serpent

Between sir, you did talk about incisions. What can you really say about it. Personally I feel it has some negative impacts on a person as these marks are made for various reasons to say the least. In Ibo land, some girl child supposed to have a link with the marine is cut incisions on the top of the face somewhat close to the eyes and this is in a bid to prevent any disturbances for the child growing up from such entities. How the parents seem to deduce it even whilst the child is still a baby I find hard to understand(cos it's usually done when the person is a baby) or perhaps, the child tends to fall ill so often and the parents get to seek some native person who eventually reveals all these.
I am really curious sir and would like to know why Who makes giving incisions a remedy for chasing away evil spirits from the life of a baby bearing in mind that these cuts n shedding of blood in the process could amount to some form of demon possession eventually? Or even solidify their attempts at totally taking over the child's spirit which the incision and blood spill further made possible.

I was barely 6 years old and with my family lived in a sub-rural community near Lagos. Like other children then, we normally stay outside our veranda after supper to tell all manner of fables. This particular night I fell asleep and was left outside while other children departed to their respective houses (my Mum having carried me inside earlier, thought I was on the mat with my siblings in our inner room, unknown to her, I stood up when she left me on the mat to re-join my play group outside)

Around 1 am, something woke me up from where I was sleeping alone outside, about 30 feet from me was a Being clothed in a ash apparel, the Being has the caricature of a young lady but the face or where there suppose to be her face was deep darkness, although there was reflection from the electric bulbs, her face remained un-illuminated. Her movement wasnt like of human, although the ash cloth covered what should be her feet also, she wasnt moving like humans. She was floating and moving towards where I laid like she was propelled by the wind.

In seconds, she was right where I was; totally paralyzed with fear. She looked down at me for a few seconds, then suddenly she turned sharply making an hissing sound and departed. It was seconds after she left did I regain the use of my body and I jumped up screaming for my mama.

The second day, I was heavy and couldnt attend school for days. My Mum in her fear invited a marabout who made all manner of incisions on me, I got better after about a week but as you can imagine, the experience never left me.

The strongest spiritual battles are the ones that gained access into our lives as child and they can be very difficult to discern. Most demons grew and develop strength even as the child and have blended into the fabric of the child's character to such an extent, when the demons manifest (and they do manifest) people generally attribute it to the personality of the child.

The Child cant understand why he or she kept committing the same offence, He/She genuinely wants the affection of his/her parents but cant just stop behaving badly;hurting them.

i can easily relate with dis. I once shared d testimony here on dis thread of how i was delivered from spiritual attacks i used to experience. It all started a time my mum took me to her village wen i was just few months old. Someone took the first hair shaved from my hair and placed a spell on me. A personality was told to follow me throughout my life and make sure i never amount to what God created me to be. This problem was part ofp the reason I got to know God early in life, I got baptized in the Holy Spirit thinking if i did d problem will stop but thanks to God for eventually revealing the source of the problem and delivering me completely.
Over the years God has made me understand how demons begin to oppress individuals. D devil is a coward and he targets our weakest moments wen we are vulnerable. Dis is d reason he targets children who can hardly distinguish right from wrong, people who are victims of accidents dat incapacitate dem, people suffering from loss and trauma, people who failed in one of life's battle e.g failed to get admission, a job, anything dat leads to depression, as a matter of fact, our weakest moments.

Satan has got no shame, he doesnt spare children in his volume of attacks on mankind despite their innocence and defenselessness. There is this ´catch them young´ approach quite popular among demons and demonic agents, it is both effective and relatively easier.

I have had occasions to be involved in counseling and praying with people with one demonic affliction or the other, there is hardly any among them who didn’t suffer attacks as children. Most of these attacks were dismissed as small child illusion by their parents.

Children were copiously part of those Jesus ministered deliverance to during His ministry on earth.

In the coming days, I will be posting as the Lord leads my heart under the above caption, the aim is to expose the agenda and the activities of the devil in the lives of the 21st century children. In doing this, I will be making adequate biblical references, relating revelations and drawing from years of experience counseling and ministering deliverance to Children.

if you think God cannot use unbelivers to talk to His children, then I must say you need to get closer to God. Nobody can fully comprehend the ways of God. His ways are beyond human comprehension.

Since you have quoted me, it is in order I give you my opinion also, it is basically what I said on my first post on this thread.I think you need alot of learning to do and with it alot of humility. You can be having pounded yam with angels every night, it doesn't make you above learning and especially saying something right contradictory to the scriptures shows the journey is still far. Folks like me generally like brethren with spiritual gifts like you professed on this thread but not at the expense of the bible. 2Timo 2:15.

I have sounded the warning clear to anyone who will care to listen....God do not use unbelievers to pass message to His children. We learn from believers and unbelievers alike in our human dealings.

God can do all things but He doesn't force men to change their hearts to Him, you need to know the difference between God's ability and His doings has revealed in the bible.

Paul didn't allow the young lady with the familiar spirit to make any declaration concerning him, I think you would have made the lady one of your Deaconess.

The secret things belong to God but the ones He revealed are for us Deut 29:29. No man can fully comprehend God but the things He wants us to know about Him are clearly revealed in the bible, we know God doesn't lie,how?, it is in the bible.

I have shown you verses conclusively showing who God uses as His mouth piece to His people, you haven't shown me any to prove otherwise, send me at least two verses (that is the least number required for theologically sound biblical doctrine) if you want to make a valid biblical statement, you see volume of revelations doesn't mean anything without valid biblical references.

A vivid case. If you follow the Pentecostal and Charismatic trends/history in Today's Nigeria, you will discover these, some Pastors/Ministers Talk, Dress, Speak, Minister and behave like the Overseer and Founder of that ministry they belong to. So it flows downwards. Nothing bad with all that.

But, we have seen cases where some of these ministries and their sources of power are questionable. A Christian should pray to God for Christian Discernment to know that which is of God and separate it from the workings of the satanic.

I will be making an exception to a personal resolution on this thread and that is because destinies both now and in future may come to an error through heretic message.

God never sent Pharaoh to deliver message to Israelites
God never sent Darius (though he was a believer in Yahweh) message to Israelites
God never sent Nebuchadnezzar to deliver message to the Israelites (although at the end of his life he bowed to the King of Kings)
God never sent Baalam nor his donkey to pass message to the Israelites

Again, I repeat......Never has God used pagans/unbelievers to pass message to His children, Never. You will have to show us the verses where He asked Who (pagan) to pass What message to His people. We know God's character by His doing in the bible.

If you believe God will use an herbalist to pass you message, it shows your spiritual understanding/leaning and you will end in heresy because the children of the devil only speak lies. I see no difference in this Holy-Spirit-Herbalist relationship and people who believe there is a truth is every religion or bahaism .

Does God love sinners, Yes...... but He doesnt use them as His mouth piece to His children.

If you believe a born again Christian with the Spirit of God can be oppressed and obsessed with demons, a wrong hand on your head can and will get you obsessed or oppressed of the devil.

My questions:

1. What is the consequences (if any) of speaking in tongues in dreams. I'm not really sure if it is speaking in tongues but I do see myself praying and speaking in tongues in dreams. Though it is not that consistent, maybe like once a month or even once in two months and at time three times in a month. (when I backslided it stopped but after crawling back to Jesus, it started again).
And could that be the reason for not having the Holy spirit, because I'm really thirsty for Him?

2. How can I discern God voice from that of the devil. The only time I heard the voice was like that of someone that used a microphone becuase it was so loud and what I was told happened less than two hrs later. Some says it will be like someone talking to one's mind. But in movies its always like sound of many people into one. And Apostle John also said in REV 1: 10 that it sounded like that of a trumpet. And I heard it through my ears not my mind.

Your question 1 is a sign of an active and I dear say healthy spirit, you might have been baptized in the Spirit but not having enough faith to start speaking in tongues. In my case, I received the Holy Ghost baptism in my bedroom and have been speaking in tongues since, no one prayed with me.

I will recommend Kenneth Haggins book (The Holy Spirit and His Gifts), read through.

To your second question, most times all I hear is a soft voice in my spirit man and it comes almost everytime with a bible verse, the Holy Spirit will never tell you what is not in tandem with the bible, that differentiates it with the voice of the devil besides, His words always come with an unexplainable peace in your heart. I have only heard the audible voice of God once, it was a recitation of verses in the bible that answered a question in my life at that time (I read the verse for the first time weeks later) it is at a conversational level, like two people gisting but it was very audible.

I had a nearly somewhat out of body experience without seeing it coming.

Early morning say abt 15 past 7, just after reading through certain scriptures n the bible and asking the Holy Spirit to guide n teach me through the word. After I was done, I decided to lay down awhile. I drifted n before I could say jack see the lights so bright and the fan going sooo high. I was about wondering what that was about when allova sudden I kinda realise I'm moving on upwards into some kinda clear void with bright colours everywhere up there. Was moving up so fast I could even feel my physical feet were in speed motion, I'm tryna reckon what's happening and immediately I realise I'm seeing really clearly but then it's not with my two physical eyes but some very big bright eye, actually bigger than my normal physical eyes n wayyyyy brighter. At the realisation of the thot that for the first time I might be having an out of body experience and having full knowledge of it, I became afraid and try to stop this occurrence by forcing my physical body to wake up. But the spirit man already involved refuses the physical to wake up. The body however takes precedence and forces itself up,unsure of what was happening or where the spirit was headed for. Immediately I wake up and I'm aghast n wondering ;God what was that about just now? I don't remember wanting such an experience so why did it happen and where was I even headed for? These were questions left in my head n for the rest of the day I experienced the worst headache ever. I tried to go back to sleep countless times to ease the headache that had defiled all workings of the pcm I took to no avail. Of course I do have some little knowledge of astral travelling n stuff cos of my exposure to the rampa books but I know trying the astral travelling wasn't in my agenda, the fear of it alone cudnt have made me delve, this however brings me back to the reason for this post, why did I have that experience, was it from God or otherwise? Cos I know just as u explained above that it is not our place to be overly inquisitive of such things as astral travel save of course it's inspired by the Holy Spirit.
