good responses,,but i will like you to work on why you choose this school, the response is not convincing and a bit generic. you can come up with two or three reasons why you choose the school. always put your strong points first, you wrote GRE, TRY to find a way to put it in your response, that shows a serious student Another observation is your study plan. after you said all what your courses consist of, pls round it up with what the course will do for you when you back to your country. ALL THE BEST, SCHOOL: University of Arkansas at Little Rock Spring 2022 COURSE: MSc Computer and Info Sc AGE: 26 CONSULAR: Good morning, Pass me your Passport and i-20 Please ME: Good morning, Before we start, I would like to say that I am very nervous and whenever I am nervous, my talking is fast and distorted, so if you don’t hear what I’m saying just tell me to repeat it. 1. CONSULAR: Why Are You Going to the US? ME: I’m going to the USA for my masters degree program in computer and information science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock 2. CONSULAR: Why the US? ME: The US has more advanced and sophisticated tools and methods used by fortune 500 companies, like Facebook, google, Microsoft and so on. Skills which I require to be able to visualize and fetch more information from Big Data.( tools and methods like Cassandra, spark, storm etc incase he asks) 3. CONSULAR: How Did You Hear About This School? ME: I carried out an extensive research using Google and some academic websites to search for schools that offers my course of interest and I found a few schools that I met their requirements amongst was University of Arkansas 4. CONSULAR: How Many Schools Did You Apply To? ME: I applied to 4 schools and they are university of Arkansas at Little Rock, Iowa state university at Ames Iowa, University of Houston, Houston Texas and University of Louisiana at Lafayette. 5. CONSULAR: What Do All These Schools Have in Common? ME: They all offer my course of interest 6. CONSULAR: Why Did You Choose this School? ME: The University centers on a core of courses covering major traditional areas of computer science in line with my course, and it allows the flexibility in acquiring an in-depth knowledge in various other areas of specialization through elective courses. 7. CONSULAR: Tell Me About Your Academic Background? ME: I finished from university of ilorin in 2016, then I went for my compulsory NYSC in 2017 at the federal university Lafia at their ASUU office, where I worked as a secretary using small data analysis tool like excel for data entry and management, after my nysc program I got a job at xyz Nig LTD in January 2018 as a data analyst and I’ve been working with them till now 8. CONSULAR: Why Do You Need this Masters or What Will this degree do for you? ME: Working with companies in the past, I realize the importance of Big Data Analysis. Which in turn will make me competent and valuable in my field as a data specialist and as a consultant and i will be returning to Nigeria to take up a new position proposed by the company I work for, as their Data Specialist, and eventually over the years as I build in my career as my own personal goal, I’ll be setting up a Data Consultancy firm to serve clients and prospective customers especially now that there's significant boom in the IT/Financial technology sector. 10. Data is money, and companies that have Big Data without good analysis is losing big-time in the money market. Most of these comes in form of ads. 11. CONSULAR: What are those courses you’ll be taking/ Tell me about your program/What is your study plan? Congrats to you. if all transcript was bleep bleep, you would not have gotten transcripts here to prepare for your interview.... if you really want to help other Applicants pls do it right.. all the best. Program: Computer Science (Msc) COA: 42k Funding: Graduate assistantship Deficit: 37k GOD IS THE GREATEST VO: I see you are going to pursue a masters program in Computer science at bleep university Me: Yes, that’s correct Vo: What do you do for a living Me: I work as an inventory data analyst at bleep company where i develop performance metrics and establish ad-hoc reporting to enhance department efficiency. Vo: Alright, Why this university ? Me: I chose this university because it offers students the opportunity to engage and participate in capstone projects of the school which students can leverage as graduate experience. Also, during an email conversation with Dr Bleep, the Graduate Program director, i was informed bleep university offers graduate internship programs just within the two years course of studies, the school has a strong collaboration with the industry which i believe would help me harness the advanced skills and theoretical knowledge of what is taught in class for practical applications in real life scenarios. Vo: what is your plan after completing your program? Me: I’ll be coming back to Nigeria to seek reabsorption in my present organization as they have an understanding with me and has given me a 2 years study leave, so i plan on returning to them with the skills i have acquired through this course to help develop innovative and cutting edge solutions that address challenges we face in the company… Vo: Cuts in, who is sponsoring you? Me: I have a graduate assistantship and will be sponsored by Bleep business, owned by my elder brother. Vo: what does he do? Me: He is an established business man who is into large scale farming in the south western part of the country, he also owns some landed properties and apartments in Bleep state some of which he rents out for residential and commercial purposes. Vo: types for long.. I will be approving your visa. Bla bla bla Me: (With a big smile). Thank you very much. Key Points to Note: The interview lasted for 3 mins 1. Please pray and pray and pray. Honestly I would say God favored me during this interview process, because the Vo which was a white female actually denied two applicants, and i was trying to escape her so I can get interviewed by the white male but as God would have it, we were shifted and i was called by the female VO and God did his work 2. Please prepare and study and speak to an object or something you can focus on while answering your questions during your practice, this really helped me cos i have little difficulties with staring at people in the eyes while talking. I stared at her throughout the whole interview 3. Please be honest and speak the truth with what correlates in your ds-160 form. 4. Now, i feel i have to share this last one with y’all cos I know someone might need it in advance. If you are going to be using your sponsor’s business account for getting your I-20, please have your school make this known on your I-20 , it was just Yesterday that it got dawned on me that my I-20 was showing family funds instead of company funds as sponsor on my I-20, whereas I already filled my sponsor’s business name on my ds-160. Thankfully to God, my school changed the “family funds” to “company funds” on my I-20 and even indicated my sponsor’ business name and his personal name which is my elder brother on the remarks section. Trust me, this really matters if you are going to be using your sponsor’s company statement of account. Everything as to match with your ds-160. Even thankfully for me, I wasn’t asked for my brother’s company statement of account. 5. Thanks to everyone who has posted their transcripts, I really took plenty cues from them cos honestly it helped me prepare well, Good-luck to everyone waiting for their interview. Just be confident and PRAYYYYYYY.
personally, i feel it will be a good idea if you go with your kid and your husband stays behind to establish a Home tie to your country, he can as well join you later he wants to. all the best. Hello everyone, please I am new to this thread be nice to me. I will like to know if going with my kid and my husband is not going to be a red flag considering I will be going for an undergraduate program and my husband is my sponsor? He'll have to take time off work to go with me till I settle down before he comes back and he can come in and out just to check on us. Or if I can afford to just go alone. I really don't know if I can go without my 3year old. What are my chances please? I've read how people with kids have been granted Visa but I noticed they are all going for higher degress, masters and PhD. As I am applying for my undergraduate degree that's where the confusion comes in. Please help. Thank you

If you believe in God keep believing, trusting and having faith do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Never underestimate the power of prayer and Grace! I'd also like to say a big thank you to this platform for the wealth of information/knowledge herein and also transcripts shared, which I richly benefited from. 1st Attempt: Appointment - 7th June 2021 Consulate - Lagos Window - 5 Status - Denied. It was a day of dishing out blue paper, for every 10-20 people interviewed, only 2 or 3 were approved while I was still there (not exagerating, you can ask those that had their interview on that day). I was interviewed by a dark elderly woman (black American in her 50's). On this day I was just gradually recovering from Malaria, so my voice wasn't as audible as it should. V.O: Good morning, pass me your i20 and passport. ME: I did. V.O: Why are you going to the States? ME: I'm going for my masters in Architecture with concentration in Sustainable Architecture (types...). V.O: Who is sponsoring? (Glancing at my i20 and then staring at me). ME: My mom (said where she works)...I also have some personal savings which will cater for my living expenses (types...). V.O: Do you have proof to show that? ME: I passed my sponsorship letter (glances through). V.O: switches off mic and says I should give her some time, she went inside with my documents...after 2mins she comes back, types for a while and then reached for the blue paper, returns my documents and passport and says I can try again (putting on a pity face). I was in shock as I didn't see that coming and didn't know what she went inside to confirm. 2nd Attempt: Appointment - 29th July 2021 Time - 7:30am Consulate - Abuja Window - 7 COA - $32k Funding - Nill Status - Approved (8:30am). My interview lasted for about 3mins. Interviewed by a beautiful white lady in her 30's. The two guys before me on the row were denied. Immediately I saw that and I was next to be interviewed, I resumed my words of affirmation, declaring that "my case is different, I shall not return with my passport" ( I was the first to be approved In my qeue). V.O: Good morning ME: Good morning. V.O: Place your fingers for your biometrics ME: I did. V.O: I can see you're going to BG for your Masters in Architecture (starts typing...). ME: Yes, that's correct...then quickly added with a concentration in Sustainable Architecture (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: Will you be focusing on Green Architecture? ME: Yes, exactly (keeps typing...). V.O: What will this degree do for you? ME: I intend to come back to Nigeria and hope to utilise this specialised knowledge and skill acquired in creating a niche for myself as an Architect, and my company where I currently work, here in Nigeria as I would be one of the pioneers to bring this back home (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: What do you currently do? ME: I'm an Architect in one of the leading real estate/ construction company in Banana Island, Lagos (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: Who is sponsoring this? ME: My mom (said where she works)...I also have some personal savings which will cater for my living expenses (nods head and continues typing...). V.O: What did you go for on your last visit? ME: Vacation. V.O: Congratulations I will be approving your visa. ME: Thank you. Then she went ahead to talk of the strict Covid-19 protocol and all but I actually didn't hear anything just kept my gaze on her and was smiling behind the mask as I remembered what peeps here always say about "not hearing anything" (facts). Advice/word of encouragement: DO NOT Giveup on your dreams. Stay focused! A delay/denial isn't the end of Life, Try Again! (Na who giveup carry last). Above all, Trust God! Pray, fast if you can. DO NOT tell Lies. Speak with Confidence, maintain eye contact at all time. God that did it for me will do same for you (What God Cannot Do Doesn't Exists) GO GET YOUR VISA's! #Believe.

As a medical radiographer, working with these equipments had revealed this yawning gaps hence my interest in pursuing this graduate program. Vo: Tell me about your study plans? Me: The program will span for a period of 21months ( between 17th Aug 2021- 31st May 2023) during which I am expected to complete a total of 30 credit units out of which 18 units are for my core courses while the remaining 12 units shall be for the electives. And I will offering courses like biostatistics, biomedical polymers, biosensor and instrumentation, mechanical engineering analysis, tissue engineering, biomaterials, bioanalytics, medical imaging systems, advanced fluid mechanics amongst others. Vo: How did You come about this school Me : The school was strongly recommended to me by my college professor who bagged in his PhD from the school and by a friend who's also an alumni of the school..............................................you can add to this by saying you did some research and it aligned to what you career goal. Vo: How many schools did you apply to? Me: In all I applied to 4 schools viz; University of Michigan, George Mason University and University of southern California and in all I got 3 admits and 1 reject. Vo: Why this particular school? Me: Apart from affordability when compared to school that I applied to, bleep university has a cooperative and experiential educational program which integrates class room experience with the real world thereby giving me the opportunity to meet with experts and professionals in my field of study. Also while going through the faculty Webpage of the school, I found a graduate research opportunity in prof xyz research who's currently working on model-based mathematical strategies for the analysis of biomedical images who expressed keen interest in having me in his team after I had explained my career goals to him. This will inturn provide with the advanced research skills needed for me to continue with the research work that I had already started with Dr bleep here in Nigeria which led to my interest of pursuing this graduate course. Vo: What will this degree do for you? Me: This degree will equip me the requisite research skills and knowledge needed for me tho thrive in this field and it will also put me in a better position to take up research roles upon my return to Nigeria in research institutes like institute of biomedical research, Nigerian institute of biotechnology and development agency among others and contribute my quota to the nation's building. Vo: What's your undergraduate course? Me: Medical Radiography & Radiological science. Vo: Why the switch? Me: It's not a switch per say, medical radiography which deals with the use of medical imaging equipments to diagnose diseases is a subspecialty in biomedical engineering where it goes beyond making diagnosis by the images produced by these machines to knowing the physics behind biomedical signal gathering, image formation, acquisition, modeling and quantification and also the engineering and technical aspect of these machines. Vo: Did you write any test? Me: No. However, I booked GRE and IELTS fortunately the dates for the exams fall within the first wave of the pandemic and as a result the the exams were postponed indefinitely. While I was waiting, I got admission from bleep university who waived the tests for me............ personally i wont talk about booking the GRE And IELTS. because the VO can indirectly tell you to Wait and write the exams Before applying. my thoughts though Vo: Who's sponsoring you?
