I think Tinubu is doing better than Buhari. He's been forced to take some radical steps, half heartedly but he has tried and believe it or not, it's yielding some results. Nigerian exports have increased mightily in the past 6 to 12 months. Go look it up. I've been told by some business people in Nigeria that they're finding new markets for Nigerian products abroad. Devaluation of the naira has bumped up State government revenues. Local Government autonomy. Something is happening with the electricity industry.

The problem is that there's so much more complementary stuff that needs to be done and neither the government nor the Nigerian people are ready to countenance such measures...such as State or Tribal Autonomy, property rights, Constitutional cap on monetary policy or something similar, things like that.

Just like I mourn the Igbo opposition to breaking up Nigeria in 1954, my real grouse with APC is that they created needless suffering with their brinkmanship and crazy opposition to common sense in 2012 . And then capped it off with the nomination of Muhammadu Buhari as their Presidential Candidate. Same as there would likely never have been a Civil War, Nigeria shouldn't be going through this horror show right now.

There is not much that Nigeria produces that it will benefit from devaluation, it will be net loss to the country, and you are seeing the effect on inflation and people's suffering
On subsidy removal the meaning is that stop wastage of resources through importation look in ward for cheaper cost effective alternative. Not to continue to import and pass full cost to the people, that's not a wise decision for a poor country like Nigeria, there is no serious country who don't subsidies one thing or the other for its people except for callous and clueless leaders

Some things to do to curb inflation.

-Let tinubu come out and say that subsidy is back and that naira will be defended and pegged at 900/$. Even if they won't do it, there is what is called market sentiment, same way everything went south the moment tinubu said "subsidy is gone".... Or if possible, peg the dollar to a particular price, so that investors can make budget with more than 50% accuracy.

-Let the govt subsidize energy for some key industries. That will help them stay at float.

-Do everything possible to clear out bandits stopping our farmers from going back to farm.

-Open land borders to neighbouring countries so that food particular could be more competitive in terms of price.

Most of our inflation is caused by FX fluctuations and inability to produce farm foods like before.

Using monetary policy and inflation rates won't work as Nigeria is not running a credit economy.

That's the problem with people who are running the government, they just do copy and paste looking at the peculiarity of their situation which you have correctly factor into your proposal
