Travel / Re: Cost Of A Nigeria International Passport by Susan210: 5:26pm On Jan 16
Good day all,

I want to know if the immigration normally hold on to the previous passport pending when the renewed one will be ready.

And if it's advisable to apply for visa with the current passport (valid for more than 1 year) while waiting for the renewed one to be ready for collection.

NB. Reason for renewal, I will be staying in the country I am heading for more than a year and Nigeria doesn't have embassy there or neighboring countries.

Thank you.

Birth certificate is not required at all.
They didn't even ask or should i say letter to the passport controller to renew passport isn't included on the list.

I don't understand your second sentence. Do you mean you were asked to submit a letter to renew the passport?

Went for capturing today. Though registered in December.

Documents that were requested for Renewal.
*Passport application page.
*Payment receipt(I paid online)
*Appointment slip
*Copy of NIN slip
*Photocopy of expired passport data page
*Photocopy of the caution page(Check the passport you will see it)
*2passport photograph
A File and brown envelope.

I believe once you have all your documents for fresh/reissue, the process will be smooth.

Thanks for this heads up. Did you forget to mention birth certificate or is it not required for renewal?
