Wow! I'm almost speechless. But hey, I still got some praises to give. This is the most interesting piece I've ever read, and I'm saying the truth. The write up is just so wonderful, made me experience almost every kind of emotion, from pity to feeling of love to sadness to feeling of care to feeling of pure happiness. I am writing this from a writer's perspective. I think Frank317 is right about the way he attacked shaxee. The thing is frank is a veteran writer here on Nairaland, he has enough experiences in story writing. He was one of the few Nairaland writers who suffered from plagiarist(bloggers & those with facebook pages) so it is bad if one sees a copied story on Nairaland, where plagiarism is a sin.
If I am not mistaken, at the start of this story Shaxee wrote something like the story was written by a certain AC something something, I have forgotten the name. But from all legal view, shaxee didn't do the needful.
I think he should emphasize that the story doesn't belong to him. As a matter of fact, I thought his other name was the name he wrote at the start.
On the issue of taking the glory, yeah, Shaxee took the glory. When readers comment, he responds like its really his intellectual work. At some point he was asking if his readers loved the twists and turns in the story. At some point he was asking for his readers opinion on who they would like to see a character end up with. These alone are enough reasons to be convinced that the story belonged to him.
I am a writer too, many of my stories has been posted on coolval22.com, the link provided by shaxee. Coolval is always quick to refer the readers to me, some of them have my numbers, some are on my whatsapp list. They put their questions to me and not coolval.
I think that's what Shaxee ought to do. What if I decided to criticise the story, how will shaxee effect the change without affecting the original plot.
All in all, Shaxee is on the wrong side. He shouldn't take the glory. Well, I am one of the readers, and I never for once thought the story could be a copied work. But I advice shaxee to make peace with frank, create a link where the readers could drop their comments or better still, in every comment, the original author should be acknowledged.
Just my two cents.
