If you ve not been called upon, your referees called, DSS officials haven't visited ur home, done physical confirmation from the schools u attended, then you are on a long thing. They (abuja DSS guys) have visited the home of My friend and neighbour from bayelsa state, visited his schools and called all his referees. They even went as far as using canoe to visit this guy's dad at his farm. They also asked his village people of his character and all that...

They told him to get set by first or second week of may that they will be called upon for camp.

Are u saying dat his referees where call from Dss office Abuja and not his state command?
And wen did dis apen?

how did he knw dat dey ave visited his skol?

What I am stressing here is that no name sent to Abuja from state level will be replaced in Abuja, but they may add names.

the delay is 4kin too much, my country should not vex but move on if I get a call to work with a foreign govt.

everything in this 9ja nah connection
even a bloody criminal could be recruited into security agencies because of connections.
meanwhile, the qualified ones with skills/talents for the job will be bashed.

how our country wan take advance şef?
I jst notice from d previous rrcriutment thread on nairaland dat it normally take 4 months from d month they wrote d exam.

2009 exam was conducted by june while camp was october.
2014 exam was August while camp was December
so 2016 might b june since d exam was February dey jst call us by may to prepare for june.

Not from any source oo jst my observation.

The thread is lively again, thanks guys for the updates, from what I understand in some of us in this thread is that, Their Oga is in Abuja and all their hope is from their, the thing is nomatter how strong ur Oga is, u have to pass through state level, u most be shortlisted first for aptitude test, then interview. That is the way ur Oga will help u when ur name finally reaches Abuja from ur state of origin. There is no way a person who pass through all necessary stages at state level, he/she's name be removed and replaced with someone who did nothing at state level simply because he has Oga in yellow house Abuja, hmm this. will gonna happen. If that is ur hope u better forget abt. this job and move on. And finally if upto now u are not contacted, Ur referees and reletives nobody contact them from DSS command of ur state, since interview u heard nothing from them, this means that something is seriously wrong. U have to start looking for other opportunities, because over the years that is what the DSS do. This is the bitter truth. A lot of guys were disappeared from the thread knowing that, there is no hope for them. this is the truth.
it Seem their recruitment is totally different from other govt agencies if oga at abuja cant change wat state sent. But which ever way let d will of God b done.

@all sometimes we don't need to deceive ourselves, Abuja has send the list back to the state command, from a reliable source. some of the name they sent back to the state are not even on the list the state sent to Abuja, which I believe my source was right, because the person was a member of the interview panel,if by now you have not been call or any green light has not come from your state command, just put your mind off it and concentrate on something else, if God say's it's yours it will surely be.
my source said the state command can't decide for Abuja, the final say comes from the yellow house, am very sure of what am saying but if your source tell you otherwise, good for you, but I will advice you spend your time on something else, rather than waiting endlessly.

Buhari To Return 2016 Budget To NASS Over Missing Projects by americanigga ( m ): 2:37am *Lagos-Calabar N60 billion coastal railway removed *Idu-Kaduna rail line cut by N8.7 billion *Major federal roads slashed *Polio eradication, essential drugs for HIV/ AIDS expunged *Agric/water resources re-allocated to constituency projects By Soni Daniel President Muhammadu Buhari appears set to return the 2016 Budget to the National Assembly to rework because what the lawmakers sent to him on Thursday for assent, according to Presidency sources, fell below his expectations. By implication, Buhari will not sign the Appropriation Bill into law, as earlier planned, before jetting out of the country this weekend to China for economic and business deals for Nigeria. The sources confirmed to Sunday Vanguard that the President felt disappointed that provisions for major national projects and programmes that could turn around the economy were either outrightly removed or funds for them ridiculously slashed by the lawmakers. It will be recalled that, in a bid to urgently assent to the bill, which was transmitted to him on Thursday, the Presidency had convened an emergency Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Friday where the document was distributed to Ministers to review as it affected their respective ministries, departments and agencies. At the review meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, who is the Head of the Economic Team, it was discovered that many strategic projects were either removed or provisions made for them significantly slashed to the point that made a mockery of the projects. Among the key projects removed from the budget by the lawmakers are the all- important Calabar-Lagos coastal rail line for which Buhari had made a provision of N60 billion in the 2016 estimates. Incidentally, the railway project is one of the key issues taking Buhari to China. While that was removed, the lawmakers left the Kano/Lagos railway project untouched but also went ahead to reduce the amount set aside for the completion of the Idu/ Kaduna railway project, which has reached an advanced stage of completion, by N8.7 billion. A top government official, who was privy to the fiscal document, summed the discoveries in the budget that shocked Buhari this way: “At the meeting, it was noticed that some very key aspects of the budget, which have to do with government’s core infrastructural focus, were removed. One of the projects is the subject of the President’s trip to China – the Lagos/ Calabar coastal railway project – for which a counterpart funding of N60bn was provided, but which was completely removed by the National Assembly. “The executive is working on two major rail arteries, among other rail projects, to service the northern and eastern parts of the country – the Lagos/Kano line and the Calabar/Lagos line. While the Lagos-Kano provision was left untouched, the Calabar/ Lagos line was removed. The projects are to be funded jointly by governments of China and Nigeria. It is one of the main reasons for the President’s scheduled trip to China. “Also, the amount proposed for the completion of the Idu/Kaduna rail project which has reached an advanced stage, was reduced by N8.7bn, a development which will make it difficult for the project to be completed”. The source added that another fundamental area noticed in the document was the completion of on-going road projects. It was learnt that while the executive had provided for the completion of all major road projects across the country, the National Assembly reduced the amounts provided and instead included new roads which studies have not even been conducted. The source lamented: “The amounts provided by the National Assembly for the projects can neither complete the on-going road projects nor the new ones proposed. At the end of the year, no progress would have been made”. According to the source, a top Presidency official, allocations for the purchase of essential drugs for major health campaigns like polio and AIDS for which the store is fast depleting, were removed and the amounts allocated to provision of ambulance, which the health ministry did not ask for. “It was also observed that certain provisions made in the areas of agriculture and water resources to further the Federal Government’s diversification project were either removed or reduced while the funds were moved to provisions of rural health facilities and boreholes, for which provisions have been made elsewhere,” the official said. “The President is desirous of signing the Bill into law so that implementation of the provisions could begin in earnest for the benefit of the people. That is why the moment he received the document on Thursday, a meeting was convened for Friday to immediately start work on it”, the source concluded.

Sources in the Finance and Budget ministries also said that the order extends to the President himself, and the Vice President. In recent decades, security votes became popular among politicians, military officers and public officers, especially presidents and state governors, as a vehicle for siphoning public funds. As the nation became more and more enmeshed in official graft, however, the practice began to generate tremendous public criticism. Observers say it was a relic from the long years of military rule, but became even more prevalent as from the Second Republic, and assumed a more dramatic and wider form in 1999. Apart from principal federal government officials, state governors and local government chairmen often allocate huge sums of money to their offices as ‘security’ votes, even as the country grew increasingly insecure. Government sources now confirm that as soon as the Buhari administration took power last year, a clear indication was given of the new direction when President Muhammadu Buhari asked accounting officers in Aso Rock to keep an eye on his own expenses and that of his deputy, noting that they both intended to run a transparent presidency, with zero-tolerance for corruption. Subsequently, the President directed that there would be no routine allocation of security votes to he or anyone else as had been the practice since 1983. For state governors, security votes often run into billions of Naira annually in many states. While the actual amount that normally goes to the president was always sketchy, there have been clear indications that it runs into several billions of Naira, sometimes on a monthly basis. For example, under the Goodluck Jonathan presidency, several security vote accounts have been discovered not just in the office of the National Security Adviser, the State Security Service and the military, but also in accounts of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation. In one particular instance, Mr. Jonathan approved a controversial payment of N2.4b in one day for the rent of 13 house boats for the use of the military in Niger Delta under the Joint Task Force Operation Pulo Shield. In the memo for the payment, the former president simply asked the then Petroleum Minister to “release the sum from NNPC security vote.”

NIS recruitment: FG gives automatic employment to 105 candidates On April 5, 20169:11 amIn News by adekunleComments 16 0 0 0 Abuja – The Federal Government has given automatic employment to 105 candidates and relatives of the botched 2014 Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) recruitment as compensation for those that died and sustained injuries during the exercise. This is contained in a statement signed by Mr Bassey Akpanyung, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Interior and made available to newsmen on Monday in Abuja. The statement said that after due verification, employment was given to three family members of each deceased applicant from the aborted exercise, of which fifteen families were identified, and a total of 45 family members selected. It said that 60 others who were injured in the exercise were also given employment after verification by relevant government agencies. “After verification, 15 families were identified, and a total of 45 family members selected from the deceased families. “Similarly, approval was given for those who were injured in the same exercise to be employed. “After due verification by relevant agencies of government, 60 of those affected were considered for appointment,” it said. The statement said that the two categories of beneficiaries are now undergoing training at various camps of the NIS in compliance with the presidential directive. It said that the recruitment conducted by the Special Presidential Committee constituted in the wake of the aborted exercise of March 2014 was being looked into. The Ministry advised all those affected in the exercise to remain calm and observe decorum while the Ministry resolves the matter. 16 0 0 0
