during d vetting u will fill form dat require almost all information about u including refrees and ur neighbours contact.
so I believe wat dey are doing now is verification of those information buy asking ur referees and ur neighbours about u.
I said dey went to somebody house after calling d person father, d person is one of those dat I saw during d vetting so we exchange contact.
Remember Desdee101 said earlier dat everyting is in d hand of d state command so urs may still call u later for d same process. some one also said dat Abuja has not contacted anyone yet.

from my observation, some states invited plenty pple for interview so they will pick d final names from there and den call on those ones, some other states jst invited only d number of pple they want to shortlist. But i believe all dat has been done already, what we r all expecting now is a call or text msg frm DSS inviting us to carry our bags n baggages and report at our various states commands for onward journey to lagos...

bros dat 2014 recruitment was hijacked by politicians and they used money to force d former DG DSS to dance akpako to their tune. D man also used d opportunity to fix in his state pple cos dat ws his last chance to do dat befor his retirement. D man was extremely used by PDP, dats why about 75 cadets were sent out of d training bfor POP because it ws discovered dat they didnt evn submit applications let alone write aptitude test. Lets hope dis current DG is credible and wont dance azonto to d politicians' music dis time.

I went through 2014 recriutment forum on nairaland. in fact after reading most of d commect I almost give up. some ppl said dey scored d highest in their state but dey where not call to camp. some said d 1st and d 2nd where not call but d 3rd person was called. some said d finall list was pasted at their state command dat 5 where selected per state but how come over 300 where present in camp. some their state did not conduct interview. some said dey even did documentation but where not call to camp.
my question is DO PEOPLE GET THIS JOB ON MERIT. bcs is like each state command can do wat ever dey like. some ppl in dis particular thread even said d 5 men list is already in Abuja.

pls which list will b out b4 10th of match or is it for state dat are yet to contact after d interview. bcs some state had done dat.

1.Do they pay in training? Yes! (allowanc/allawee)
2.How much? Undisclosed amount, but gud enough to sustain u and allow u enter mami.
3.will they feed u or u feed urself? Yes they feed cadets 3times daily, u can still feed urself at d mami if their food no do you. Jst like our nysc camp time.
4. Things dat will make u succeed in training are: maintain a clean record thru out ur stay there, dont get entangled in relationship mess with any female there, be present always wherever u r supposed to be present, pass all d tests and exams with good scores, perform well in physical exercises wch include crosscountry jogging, pressups, shooting practice, karate n taekwondo, etc.
5. Things dat can remove u or keep u longer in training school are: any form of misbehaviour, e.g drunkeness, flirting, impregnate any lady, fail tests or exams, leave d premises without permission, absent urself wher u r supposed to be present, disobey camp rules and regulations, stealing etc. Avoid all these and u will pass out successfully.

boss politicians wud alws want to influence evry job opportunity to favour their close family n friends, but in d case of dis DSS it all depends on D state Director and d ADS A&L whos d head of admin, to either dance to d tune of politicians or refuse them. So pray those 2pple in ur state command are strict and no-nonsense kind of pple den u r safe.

Alright lemme tell u a bit abt DSS work. Pls be aware dat watever i xplaing here is based on my knowledge of d job thru my dad who is now retired after 35years of working with d NSO turned DSS. D first thing u may not like abt d job is TRANSFER. U may be transfered to any part of d country at any time, and u may be posted to any local government area jst as corpers are posted to interior villages where they dont like but they have no choice bt to go. That said, DSS personel in d state commands go to work 8am n close by 4, 5 or 6pm but nobody leaves d office until SDS, state director of service is out of d office. D primary assignment of all DSS personnel in all d LGAs in Nigeria is to PREVENT crime and chaos BEFORE it occurs. So they must mingle with pple of d locality so as to get information wch is reffered to as INTEL, wch is gathered over a period n submitted to HQ in d state capital to act upon it. Hq shares d intel with other security agencies, and necesary action is taken to prevent any loss of lives n property. Security report is submited to d state governor evry week, briefing him on security status of all d LGAs in d state, so as a DSS personnel u must knw how to obtain useful intel and to write report. Intelligence reports gathered by DSS personnel is what army n police uses to raid and arrest criminals in their hideouts... D secondary responsibility of DSS is to provide security for government officials referred to as VIP. Those are d DSS guys u see with governors ministers senators and d president, u must undergo a special training course bfor u a assigned d role of chief detail to any vip. So, all in all, officers dont have much stress in dss, its detectives ans ASOs dat do most of d stressful daily work in d office. As per d pay, its veeeery good, plus a mid-month payment called incentive, wch is a particular percentage of ur basic salary. I dont knw abt you sir, but me myself and I, am ready to go wherever d job takes me to, and whatever it requires me to do. Its far better n less stressful dan army and military wahala. By what i was told at d DSS office during my vetting, a senior officer of d rank of ACSIO who is d head of admin, said d trainin will commence btw march and april, duration for cadets is jst about one year, bt not upto one year, so i guess 9 or 10months is d duration inclusive of d 3month IT and project writing. He said if d cadets are fortunate, we may be trained on shooting n weapons handling at d DSS hi-tech underground range in Lagos. #me dey look forward to dat part!!!

lets imagine dat these 'vetters' are busy wit d vetting process as it is claimed.wit the way dey r going abt it they r really re inventing d meaning of vetting wit regards to d intelligence community. if dey r serious dey should go n have a one on one conversation wit ur referees or pay a discreet visit to ur ppa instead of lying down on dia girlfriend's lap to make phone calls. its nt juz enough to want to join d sss, we have to constructively criticize dia unbecoming modus operandi as people wit a knack for intelligence. lets look at their recruitment process. for bleeps sakes is dis pattern of recruitment ever goin to address d issue of favoritism , nepotism and enrollment of mediocre asses? until dis philosophy of shallow human resource procurement by d service is reformed, d future will only continue to repeat itself....and by d way, who fucking killed dele giwa? ?

hello to evryone here, i think its right to share useful and credible info to u all, so here it is...
1. Names of shortlisted candidates for both cadets (SIO II) and SSCE (Detectives) have been sent to d HQ DSS in Abuja.
2. HQ DSS has not fixed date for training at d DSS training school for cadets in Lagos and for detectives in Kaduna. This is because d facilities are currently occupied by officers on course.
3. If you have received any call or text frm DSS since after d aptitude test, den be glad, u may hav been shortlisted. But if u havent received any call or text frm them, it means u didnt do well in d test so pray for God to do a miracle for u.
5. This year's recruitment is entirely in d hands of each state command, unlike 2014 recruitment dat was hijacked by d Yellow house. Cadets per state is minimum of 10, it cud be more dan 10 possibly.
6. If u hav been called, pls do good to inform all ur referees on ur cv, cos DSS will contact them to ask about you, tell dem to expect such so they are not taken unawares.
7. When HQ DSS, has approved for training to commence, all shortlisted candidates will be called to their various state commands for onward journey to Lagos for cadets, and Kaduna for detectives. You will be told on what n what to come along with.
8. OND and NCE recruitment for dis year hasnt been approved yet, so be patient for now.

ave try to knw what will b next but to no avail. dey are jst too secret even most of their staff dost knw. during d vetting I ask d person incharge d number dey will take d persond said 7 and I saw 7 ppl too. 2 per senatorial dist will one get 3. but am still suprise wen I came online to hear some ppl saying 5 per state dat dey will still drop 2 ppl. am still praying to God bcs I dont knw any senator or governor.

I stand with Desdee in this matter because a lot of speculations are trooping in left and right back and front without accuracy. The other time they were saying all the names of the successful people are already in abuja...while some are saying again they were called to ascertain where they did their PPA. Is Abuja the one calling u since all names are already in abuja?
My believe is that the lists are still with the states pending when they are done with all tests interviews...

Don't be discouraged. Of course, having come this far, you have a great chance. I hope you gave them a reasonable explanation as to why you attended three different secondary schools? If you did, then you should have no problem. Politicians did not hijack the recruitment, it is DSS that offered them slots and even the presidency got slots. The Chairman, House Committee on National Security got about 60+ slots and the Senate Chairman got 100.
