Personally i like the surprise of not checking. It gives you the opportunity to buy unisex coloured items which another baby of a different sex can use.

White, yellows, green, orange and reds all the way.

No pink or blues with me.....
Because when you give birth most people will automatically buy you all he pink or blues you need.

As for shopping early, EDD does creep up on you. You dont want to be too heavy, tired, irritable and trying to do baby shopping roaming up and down while looking for decent place to use the loo every 30 mins..

You can start now but do your research, have a list and stick to it as best as you can, ticking stuff off over a few months. Baby shopping all in one go can be quite expensive leaving you with a huge dent in the pocket

I find it useful to have a list and have a budget / list review with Hubby and another sensible mama who has had a baby.

The reason being that with the hormones you cant think practically! You need someone to drag you back down to earth when you are considering buying a buggy with leather trim handles and chrome wheels. And also someone that will tell you what you REALLLLLY need, the basics that are essential and what you can wait to buy later if you feel you need it after baby has arrived.

Another tip with having a list is: if can also double as a gift list! You may have people who will ask what you want as opposed to buying clothes or other random stuff and it is nice to have a list you can give them and they can get you something from it.

Please stop doing scan madam suzy... its getting too much. You have done 3 already and they confirm your baby is okay so why worried? Leave everything for God. As par the pain, i felt so much pain too at 18 weeks for 3 whole days and i went to see my doctor, he just use Doppler to check baby heart beat and everything is okay. Please rest well and you will be fine by God Grace

The last scan i did dat was when i was 16weeks+2days my baby was so fine that he has kicking d legs. but couldnt see d sex of d baby yet. dad said i shouldnt check the sex. i wish to know it. cos i have not even starting buying anything yet. My edd is Dec28. stil have alot of time ba

thanks dear. am doing my best on d drinking much water. maybe is my work. Cos i work as a bulk teller and i bend down most time to pick and take up cash. but have really tried avoiding it. am even thinking of leaving the job cos its really stressing me alot

pls help me touch light this matter. I told u all about the pains i feel at the left side of my tummy. I webt to the hospital on saturday. i was given some drugs, one orange and pink drugs. But the pain is stil der. mostly when am siting or laying down. sometimes even when am walking. What can really be wrong ? i have done 3scans when and i dont no if to do another one to no wats really disturbing me.
pls has any1 felt such pains and how did she treat it and it stop

Woman don't give yourself high bp! Some FTMs don't feel kicks till about 22/23 weeks. When your baby starts kicking no one will tell you, it will feel like someone kicked you but from the inside. You will just know.

You can find out the sex even at 17 weeks, there has been no reported adverse effects of having many scans but most doctors will advise that you don't do too many scans this early. Yes baby is moving but is still too little for you to be feeling his/her movements, that's why you are probably not feeling anything yet. As long as the last scan you did was okay, there's no need to fret or keep going back for numerous unnecessary scans. YOU ARE FINE! Instead of worrying, why not use that time to prophesy positivity into your baby's life.

However if you are still not satisfied, share your concerns with your doc at your next appointment.

thank u so much for finding out time to reply and put my mind at rest. I always prophesy and talk to my baby.am always feeling like he or she can hear me. sometimes i even go to d point of begging d baby to kick or do something. will just be calm maybe my too much worry is part of d causes too.

Mama Suzy please let me laugh first....only 17weeks and you are worried about baby's kicks? *in falz voice * it is not every mummy that are to be experience baby kicks so early, some are to be wait till 20 weeks or so.....
So biko , calm down. Nothing have do your baby. ...especially as you could see in the scan that baby is fine.
Also the position of your placenta is one factor that determines how early you feel baby kicks. By the time you are 20 weeks plus, you will start feeling the kicks....

Baby starts kicking very early but you dont feel it on time. Some start feeling light flutter from 20 weeks and real hard kicks from 22 weeks upward. If you are a second time mom, you feel it earlier.

Every woman's pregnancy timetable is different so there is no exact time to start feeling baby kicks. Just relax.

Ok, i recommended my brother's wife to register for antenatal at Alimosho General Hospital, Igando. That was where i had a c-section to deliver my son and i was impressed on how i was taken care of.

My sister in law was there on Tuesday and she was told the latest development was that new fresh registration for antenatal must pay 15k first before she starts her antenatal. this wasn't like that six months ago i gave birth. though i paid mine but it was after i gave birth.

please i wanna know if it's the same for other General hospitals.

My dear i was der same day on Tuesday. i was told to bring my hubby and 14,700 for registration but i over heard sum1 saying any 16k payment will be made and the pple der were much. after wrtting my name and we sat down. But they were wasting so much time. My Dh told me dat he can wait for dis long. We left and went to a private hospital at st gate. they really took their time in attending to me. General is a waste of time to me oooooooooooo

Yes sum1 can pay into the account but u will have issues when u want to collect the money from ur account. cos for part of d reactivation process ur bvn number will be required. hope d details u av on d account is d same details u used on ur bvn? to avoid stories when u wanna reactivate. but in case they are different u can tell d bank u wanna close d account or do necessary changes to d dormant account. But that answers ur questions? Dormant accounts can take deposits

Do update the house on how you have been faring, if you have checked your baby's gender (Team Blue/Pink/Surprise), exact EDD from first scan and your general wellbeing.

I just started my antenatal yesterday. Went to general to register but men d queues was so much dat my Dh took me away to a private hospital where i registered and i was given TT aslo. i did ultrasound and i was told my baby is fine. I saw he/she kicking his/ her leg dancing maybe i was so happy. i also gained like 8kg is it normal. Am 16weeks preg. My EDD is Dec. PLs put me and all upcoming mums in prayers. Cant wait to hold my Baby

Congrats to all New Mums and for d old Ones THanks for the advises. for Us the upcoming Mums cos am just 14weeks pregnant. I can not wait to carry my baby. The thoughts of it is so amazing. I have done 2 scans already. Is it good to do more cos am always scared of how my baby is feeling so i wish to see tru scan. my Doctor gave me 1st jan 2017. But i have this feeling its coming December.
