Lol. Thanks a lot for the link. I saw it yesterday and I'm still confused. Their website says 40kg per piece for Africa bound flights and 32 for USA bound ones.

Please if you have used Qatar recently to and fro Lagôs, what was your baggage allowance? Thanks.

Thanks shawlar.
shawlar:
You didnt scour their website well enough...

https://www.qatarairways.com/en-ng/baggage/allowance.html

I suggest you use scouring powder next time grin grin
Hello everyone

Google "MEDIF Qatar" , you will get the form. it is a 6 -7 page pdf form. Actually meant for seriously ill passengers of which pregnant women over 32 weeks are classified under.
TravelRe: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by Suzyt: 12:12pm On Aug 09, 2017
Hi,

Two quick questions: are you going to be under 32 weeks at the date of travel? According to Qatar Airways, under 32 means you are actual not more than 30 weeks 6 days as 31 and 1 day is equivalent to 32. If yes, your own doctors report and Fit to Fly should suffice. If you are over, you would need to print out the MEDIF form on their website and have your Dr fill it out about 10 days to 72 hours before departure, scan it to Qatar Airways office or email (ask your agent). They will then send you their own Fit to Fly.

Please note that once you are 36 weeks, they wont carry you. And like I mentioned, 36 weeks for them is 35 + 1 etc.

When are you travelling?

Senatornuella:
Hello everyone

I am travelling with Qatar airways and in the bid to clarify what I need medif and medical certificate etc, the agent I spoke to at their office via telephone said I should also fill the expectant mothers form. Please I have googled and searched but can't find Qatar expectant mothers form. Please anyone who has filled this before or gone with Qatar can explain what it is and where I can get it from.

Thank you

I cant say but I make sure my lo takes 30mls of warm water first thing in d morning. during the course of the day its water, water, water! especially whn he is playing rough. I gv water to calm him down but I discovered it reactivates his energy. so my sister the secret behind it is water!

Hello mamas!

My LO is 6 months and 3 weeks and I started on solids at 6 months which consist of puréed foods with loads of veggies. Since I started he has been having very hard pellet like poo. I have tried water, warm water, water with brown sugar, freshly squeezed orange juice with scent leaf juice, little drops of olive oil in water at night. Nothing has changed. He strains and groans and I'm so unhappy seeing him in so much discomfort. Right now I want to revert to milk only. Please advise me. Thanks.
Helo lovely mums in d house,
I'm a ftm with twins one week post

I guess it's different for every woman. Mine came day 3 and it was horrendous. I was shaking with a fever. My boobs looked like I had inserted400 naira watermelons into each boob. My nipples became flat due to the engorgement and therefore LO couldn't suck. It was horrible.

I'm telling u this to be prepared. Anytime from now it could come really big and plenty do have your pump ready.

Just to nudge it ahead, drink pap, tea and I recently researched and found out about moringa. There's an actual medical trial on it and the result of the experiment is that moringa aids lactation.

My mom just brought me some and I can't wait to start using as I'm not getting more than 4 oz in one sitting anymore unlike the 8 oz of before.

Try and let us know how it works. I'll try it too. All the best.

Hi esteria. Yes my belly gone. Wore a belly band from 15 min after the procedure. Reduced my food drastically enough to just keep milk supply up. And my belly went back quickly-14 days I was already seeing definition in my tummy. But as soon as I got home, the weight in the belly came back a bit cos I have been eating way more than I used to when I just had him. I was so determined then and was very brutal in my methods and they worked- from girdle to belly band to waist trimmer to little teeny food. It was serious for me and I do not advocate my methods as I had done loads of research and went ahead against counsel.

I'm back on the weight loss train now with the reduced food intake diet. Nothing too drastic sha. Just greatly reducing My portions and not eating after 7. I just restarted it in June. And I'm hoping to be a size 10 perfect by Dec. I was a size 12 pre preg. I'm back to my pre pregnancy clothes but not pre preg weight. So my clothes fit fine but there's a few pounds/kg I can't account for.

But in summary, my tummy doesn't look like a baby came out of it recently, I'm not totally back to pre pregnancy weight but tummy is down and has been since 14 days post partum and got progressively smaller till my MIL pretty much blackmailed me and forced me into more food with her," ko le je pe gbogbo rice to fe je niyen" you can't mean that is all the rice you want to eat.
Good evening house. Please I need urgent assistance.

Hi mama. I'm no expert but from advice handed down to me and my experience I can offer some assistance.

A 2 week old shouldn't really suckle for Thant long for a feed. I suspect she's either nursing for comfort or not getting enough. So you need to boost your supply.

Formula feeding is only going to make it flow less and your body is getting the message that your milk is not needed much and will readjust to suit what it considers as needed. So even if u must use formula TEMPORARILY you must pump so your body does nt register a missed feed.

My baby was jaundiced after 3 days post birth so the paed asked me to supplement as my milk hadn't come well. But he emphasized that I must first put him to the breast and when he's done give him 2 oz of formula. Not that I stop bf'ing.

So my suggestion and what works for me is this: I pump/feed every 2 hours unfailingly. Even if it's a few drops I get. I repeat every 2 hours. By the second day I was getting 8 oz in one sitting. The more I stimulated my glands the more milk I produced. So even if u give formula just to stop her from crying pump and see how much you're producing. If it's not much then start stimulating your milk production.

Like they say, most mothers' milk is sufficient there's just an art to it and a stressful one at that but I think it's worth it.

I'm back at work now and I pump in the office even. My child is my number 1 priority and I leave no one in doubt about it.

I love this forum! A little intro: I'm a ftm and ds is 3 months and a few weeks. He was 7kg at his 14 week appointment so he's a big baby. He was 8 pounds 11 oz at birth. I had him via cs as after 18 hours of active labour I was only 1cm with no epi.

He's healthy, chubby and happy. He had a terrible cough at 6 weeks and had to be put on antibiotics thanks to silly kissing family members.

Thank God for us all. We have seen their beginnings we shall never know their end. Omo lo ma sin wa o. We will not weep over them. Amen.

Hi mamas!

I was told to give 2.5ml of vitamin c syrup. Also I am scared to use hot water near him so I put two drops of eucalyptus oil in very warm warm water then soak his wash cloth squeeze and gently dab on his nose for a few minutes. He's ok now.
Thanks mama.

I'm still waiting for answers to this. My baby's cough and catarrh has not stopped even though she's been taking the medicine that was given to her at the hospital for more than 3 days now. Mamas, any idea?

15. Me: morning
Officer: what are you here for today?
M: for my holiday, to have my baby and do some shopping.
Off: how much do you have on you today ma'am?
M: $9901
Off: do You know you are allowed to bring more?
M: yes I do but I'm uncomfortable carrying so much cash and I have enough in my visa.
Off: ok please step aside. You will be going for secondary inspection.
M: ok.

16. Another officer comes, picks my passport and escorts me and some others to a separate room.

17. These people are psychologists. They keep you waiting for so long to get you anxious but all through keep calm and trust that all will be well.

18. After about 35 minutes, a lady calls me, asks me random questions then passesmy passports to her colleague. After another 25 minutes, colleague calls my name.

19. Me: hi
She: hi. What are you here for?
Me: same thing I told officer?
She: when did you get married?
Me: I answered
She: what do you and your husband do in Nigeria?
Me: I told her
She: how much did you budget for the birth?
Me: well, from the doctors estimate when I came here a few months ago, the price is this but I have budgeted triple of that and in the event of an emergency, my husband will join me with more funds.
She: ok. Just so you know, even if your bill is 100k you must not use Medicaid etc. you must pay all even if it means Setting up a payment plan.

20. She stamps me in for 6 months and I proceed to pick my stuff and head to customs.

21. She must have written something on my card because as soon as the customs guy views my landing card he points me to the customs secondary inspection room.

22. I was on the queue and busy chatting with O and telling him what was going on when one customs guy snaps at me "ma'am you should not be using your phone here!" I turn it off and place it in my bag.

23. After about 40 min, it was my turn. I was thoroughly searched by a lady. She went through every inch of my luggage amidst her advice that I must use epidural. Oh I forgot to mention that she also asked me the whole why are you here? Why give birth in the states etc questions. She helped me load all my stuff on the trolley after searching and wished me well.

24. That is my story o. It was long. We landed at 4:50am and I didn't finish the whole process until about 8:20. I connected to my final destination and here I am waiting for Baby's arrival.

25. Wishing you all the best. Do not lie. Keep calm. Be prayerful. All will be just fine. Amen.

7. As soon as we got into the extremely hot airport, I proceeded to the businessfirst queue and was met by a lady who appeared to be trying to prep me for my POE experience with all sorts of random questions. Why did you travel in October, when are you coming back? I pointed to my ticket. She said no I want you to say it with your mouth.

8. She asks for my fit to fly. Guys remember to have a photocopy. The original is yours and they keep the copy. O had to go make a copy for me. Bless him.

9. I checked in without incident and went through port health etc fairly easily.

10. O and I said our goodbyes. There were no tears.

11. I got on the fast track. Went through security and off to the lounge to catch my breath before they called us to board.

12. Flight was really good. I was able to sleep throught 70% of it. I was totally stretched out and the attendants were nice.

13. We got to Houston and I just started praying all through. I put my Yankee sim in and contacted all my prayer goons to begin to kabash.

14. The queue was so long despite bring one of the first to leave the plane (there were loads of other flights landing same time) and I was really praying for some sort of preferential treatment. No such luck! I waited like everyone else. Eventually it was SuzyT's turn.

Small gist: it appears all the pregnant ladies on my flight were delayed ie secondary inspection. Full report to follow in the spirit of giving back.
Update as promised. Please try to pick lessons from every paragraph.

1. My husband, let's call him O and I left the house at about 6pm as I had to quickly get to the supermarket to buy Open Heavens 2015. Aroro entered me so much, I wasn't willing to be paying dollars for the devotional in the States.

2. I had also made some nice wigs using my own weaveon and a wig cap with didi olowo under so that fresh air can touch my scalp when I'm lounging at home and I can also look cute when going out.

3. O had asked if we should call the driver to drop us. I suspected I would be tearful and didn't want our driver to see Madam in her state of weakness so I said no and asked that we either take a taxi or O drive. He elected to drive.

4. We got to the airport area at about 6:35 ish and behold, traffic of life right from that Sahara area. It was bad.

5. We had just missed a shuttle by the time we managed to get to the car park. We then asked some little shuttly carriagy guys how much they would charge to take us, they said 2k. I told O no let's wait for the next bus which is free. Omo, after waiting for a whole 45 min we practically begged the next carriage guy we sighted.

6. It was a very bumpy ride from the car park to the airport proper. My baby must have been giving us side eye that what's going on here. Upon the 2k, carriage dropped us at the staircase of arrivals so poor O had to carry the boxes up the stairs to departure. He obviously reminded me that if not for my stubbornness not to call our driver we won't have gone through so much stress. All the mushiness I thought I would feel re: leaving O for so long promptly disappeared in the face of all the discomfort we had been through. Lesson: please get someone to drop you and whoever is escorting you off. Don't do what I did. You will be cranky and might start snapping at eachother. Thankfully I was in my full Proverbs 31 mode.

It's very normal to be tired and feel generally unwell. It happened to me and I routinely took days off or went home during work. Just take it easy. First tri is reputed to be the sensitive period. Don't stress and be prayerful. I'm shocked at your doc though. I started with ANC at 8 weeks and I get chastised if I miss an appointment.

Thank you very much. I am not asthmatic though I had bouts if bronchitis as a child. I also fumigated my house recently because of tiny roaches that won't let me be. I really didn't want to but those roaches were so embarrassing and would make even the cleanest woman look like a dirty housekeeper.

May God grant us all our heart's desires. Guys, let us not be overcome with fear. I did a quick survey after reading all these gory tales and I confirmed from about 5 ppl who have recently travelled that a letter for change of intention was neither asked for nor used.

I'm not saying you should not procure one if you feel led to but remember that those officials are humans and have different personalities. Let's pray and trust God and not be too fearful changing plans at every new advice.

Glad to be here! (Just joined). God bless us and our brewing little ones.
