These chicago hospitals are a bit expensive, relatively. I am looking at MIHS (Maricopa) in Phoenix Arizona but when I called them on the numbers on their site they requested I download the non resident e self pay package from their site. I asked for the financial appointment letter to boost my burden of proof and then they started bouncing me across all the extensions in the complex. Finally ended up with answering machine. A friend also told me she had same experience. Can someone help with info on how I can get this financial appointment letter? Please

@Phema. A big congratulations! BBB welicome!

@anonymousmum. Na waa o for these Houston POE. My departure is approaching fast and my belle is big! Anyway, I am hoping and praying for a smooth entry. Traveling BA with layover at Heathrow.

@nefertitiram. He really is a God that answers by fire! Congrats! May He see you through this journey to a successful and happy ending. Amen!

Have to make some changes in my accommodation plans. Will like to stay in an extended stay near WHMC. I remember a few people have mentioned InTown Suites. May I ask why please? I was thinking of using Sun Suites but their weekly rate is quite high at over $300 weekly. At this rate I will be spending $1200 for a month. Chai!

Please moms that have used InTown Suites, why the choice and what was their rate like?

I have another question, on your way back to Nija, did you have to carry the baby in a car seat into the airplane? It will be much easier to travel with a sling instead. Please advice.

Please anyone with MORE info on affordable hospitals in NJ?. The cheapest i got was frm Hackensack UMC.... 5k dollars for CS and 3,800 for vag. This is excluding docs fee and other logistics involved in childbirth. Hubby feels more comfy with that location cos his pple r there. Kindly help a sister ejoor.

Small gist: it appears all the pregnant ladies on my flight were delayed ie secondary inspection. Full report to follow in the spirit of giving back. [/quote]

Update as promised. Please try to pick lessons from every paragraph.

1. My husband, let's call him O and I left the house at about 6pm as I had to quickly get to the supermarket to buy Open Heavens 2015. Aroro entered me so much, I wasn't willing to be paying dollars for the devotional in the States.

2. I had also made some nice wigs using my own weaveon and a wig cap with didi olowo under so that fresh air can touch my scalp when I'm lounging at home and I can also look cute when going out.

3. O had asked if we should call the driver to drop us. I suspected I would be tearful and didn't want our driver to see Madam in her state of weakness so I said no and asked that we either take a taxi or O drive. He elected to drive.

4. We got to the airport area at about 6:35 ish and behold, traffic of life right from that Sahara area. It was bad.

5. We had just missed a shuttle by the time we managed to get to the car park. We then asked some little shuttly carriagy guys how much they would charge to take us, they said 2k. I told O no let's wait for the next bus which is free. Omo, after waiting for a whole 45 min we practically begged the next carriage guy we sighted.

6. It was a very bumpy ride from the car park to the airport proper. My baby must have been giving us side eye that what's going on here. Upon the 2k, carriage dropped us at the staircase of arrivals so poor O had to carry the boxes up the stairs to departure. He obviously reminded me that if not for my stubbornness not to call our driver we won't have gone through so much stress. All the mushiness I thought I would feel re: leaving O for so long promptly disappeared in the face of all the discomfort we had been through. Lesson: please get someone to drop you and whoever is escorting you off. Don't do what I did. You will be cranky and might start snapping at eachother. Thankfully I was in my full Proverbs 31 mode.

My dear. Hubby called our sister in law in NJ and this was also the cheapest she got for us. After all my prep for Elpaso he is trying to change my plans to head to NJ cos of the stress of traveling again from NY to Houston and becos he feels comfy me staying with this SIL. Pls let me know if you get anything cheaper.

7. As soon as we got into the extremely hot airport, I proceeded to the businessfirst queue and was met by a lady who appeared to be trying to prep me for my POE experience with all sorts of random questions. Why did you travel in October, when are you coming back? I pointed to my ticket. She said no I want you to say it with your mouth.

8. She asks for my fit to fly. Guys remember to have a photocopy. The original is yours and they keep the copy. O had to go make a copy for me. Bless him.

9. I checked in without incident and went through port health etc fairly easily.

10. O and I said our goodbyes. There were no tears.

11. I got on the fast track. Went through security and off to the lounge to catch my breath before they called us to board.

12. Flight was really good. I was able to sleep throught 70% of it. I was totally stretched out and the attendants were nice.

13. We got to Houston and I just started praying all through. I put my Yankee sim in and contacted all my prayer goons to begin to kabash.

14. The queue was so long despite bring one of the first to leave the plane (there were loads of other flights landing same time) and I was really praying for some sort of preferential treatment. No such luck! I waited like everyone else. Eventually it was SuzyT's turn.

15. Me: morning
Officer: what are you here for today?
M: for my holiday, to have my baby and do some shopping.
Off: how much do you have on you today ma'am?
M: $9901
Off: do You know you are allowed to bring more?
M: yes I do but I'm uncomfortable carrying so much cash and I have enough in my visa.
Off: ok please step aside. You will be going for secondary inspection.
M: ok.

16. Another officer comes, picks my passport and escorts me and some others to a separate room.

17. These people are psychologists. They keep you waiting for so long to get you anxious but all through keep calm and trust that all will be well.

18. After about 35 minutes, a lady calls me, asks me random questions then passesmy passports to her colleague. After another 25 minutes, colleague calls my name.

19. Me: hi
She: hi. What are you here for?
Me: same thing I told officer?
She: when did you get married?
Me: I answered
She: what do you and your husband do in Nigeria?
Me: I told her
She: how much did you budget for the birth?
Me: well, from the doctors estimate when I came here a few months ago, the price is this but I have budgeted triple of that and in the event of an emergency, my husband will join me with more funds.
She: ok. Just so you know, even if your bill is 100k you must not use Medicaid etc. you must pay all even if it means Setting up a payment plan.

20. She stamps me in for 6 months and I proceed to pick my stuff and head to customs.

21. She must have written something on my card because as soon as the customs guy views my landing card he points me to the customs secondary inspection room.

22. I was on the queue and busy chatting with O and telling him what was going on when one customs guy snaps at me "ma'am you should not be using your phone here!" I turn it off and place it in my bag.

23. After about 40 min, it was my turn. I was thoroughly searched by a lady. She went through every inch of my luggage amidst her advice that I must use epidural. Oh I forgot to mention that she also asked me the whole why are you here? Why give birth in the states etc questions. She helped me load all my stuff on the trolley after searching and wished me well.

24. That is my story o. It was long. We landed at 4:50am and I didn't finish the whole process until about 8:20. I connected to my final destination and here I am waiting for Baby's arrival.

25. Wishing you all the best. Do not lie. Keep calm. Be prayerful. All will be just fine. Amen.
