I understood that you want me to look at my Task manager for the process that is running at the time the explore is displayed. I will do so now. You you mean something more than what I understood, tell me more.

Preamble: You will think you know much about computers, untill you are humbled by one small problem. (My  Case)

Genesis: I ran an antivirus (avast) and cleaned a lot of viruses from my laptop. After that a lot of files were missing.
I took time to replace the ones I could and removed from the registry some entries I can not link. I also ran System Mechanic 7 on the system to futher correct more errors. However, one error have persisted.

Case: My computer will boot, after what I think is the end of booting, the  computer will be busy runing an unknown process in the background for another 10 - 15 seconds after which it will open  my documents folder twice in explorer view.

Tried Solutions:   I have tried everything I know to stop this apparent waste of time, but it persisted. I have restarted the system with all the possible boot options, disabled system.ini, win.ini, boot.ini, statup items, services etc.  I have opened the registry and taken the risk of deleting so many lines I thought is the problem, whosyi.

  Now I think my computer is crazy.  Who can supply the remedy to this computer madness.

VERY IMPORTANT - What 'server configuration tasks' are now being required by your company and can you give some brief background on how this requirements came to be. Hints - Anything related to configuring the physical server hardware (maybe you're a proliant, poweredge or xseries shop), configuring some specific application server (exchange, sql, sms) or configuring the server os (AD, RIS, DHCP, RRAS, Clustering, DFS, CA, NLB etc)?

I dubt the poster knows the detail you want him to supply. If he can diffrentiate all these, he will be capable of helping himself

If you can supply the info pls do or ask arround to know what is required of you. Or better still explain it the best way you could, even if you can't use the appropriate terminologies

A Co-worker raised alam that our sever has been infected by a virus. I know that the server was running on Ubentu Linux. Could it be true. Can virus attack linux based systems? if no why not.

Dose it mean that Linux programmers cannot write malicious code or what.

Your suggested link was very helpfull. My registry editing is now enabled. Thanks alot

However, I noticed another problem. Folder options in not avaliable in my control panel, hence I cannot set folder options. I needed to repair file type error that causes my computer not to recorgnise .doc files.

Please Can you help. How do I enable folder options in my system

My friend, Your professional exams are much better to start with. I don't know about Finanace, but you may have more of these certifications to do in future. Like in my field, Computer Science, New Certifications come as Technology Improves. Having one, qualifies you for the other. Good Luck

The Nigerian computer society is currently organizing a conference at Concord Hotel in the Imo State Capital, Owerri. I was there yesterday and Today. I saw nothing of interest. Have any of been there. Can you share your experence in this trade. And why must we have NCS and CPN at the same time with conflecting roles.
