moderatorr1:www.factchecki.ng Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday launched a fact-checking website to counter all attacks on his personality by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). A statement by his media aide said the site is dedicated to sharing “facts and disapproving many lies being told by the Goodluck Jonathan campaign against Muhammadu Buhari.” “This is announcing FactChecki.ng, a fact-checking site dedicated to sharing the facts and the figures, and disproving many lies being told by the Goodluck Jonathan campaign against Muhammadu Buhari, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress,” the statement said. “Happy New Year! 2015 is the year we reset Nigeria’s clock by electing competence,” 'Gbenga Sesan, a social entrepreneur team and a member working on the site, said. “Let’s kill lies against #GMB16 via factchecki.ng,” he said. “Our volunteer effort seeks to kill lies that are introduced to discourage you from supporting the candidacy of Muhammadu Buhari/Yemi Osinbajo. Please share the facts from the FactCheki.ng website with everyone – via SMS, through your favourite radio/TV shows, on social media and much more,” Sesan said. He urged Nigerians to cross check any statement by the PDP by mailing it to the site. “If you come across any lies about Buhari or any claims which accuracy you are not sure of, please send such to lies@factchecki.ng,” the statement said. Daily Trust reporter visited the site around 2:44pm on Thursday; some of the controversial claims against Buhari being addressed include questions such as “Did Muhammadu Buhari call for post-election violence or ask his supporters to kill? Did Buhari say Muslims should only vote for Muslim leaders? Did Buhari promise to make Nigeria ungovernable?” The site handlers provided detailed answers to these controversial issues by providing video clips, online links to newspapers stories, among others to convince their audience. https://www.dailytrust.com.ng/daily/news/43407-buhari-launches-website-to-counter-pdp-attacks |

isquiet over NCAT’s sack of pilot Category: News Published on Saturday, 26 October 2013 05:00 Written by Isa Sa’idu, Zaria Hits: 86 The last may not have been heard over the crisis rocking the Nigerian College of Aviation College. A pilot has been sacked and staff is threatening a show down after having objected to the sack via a letter to the national headquarters of the union of which they are awaiting reply. The Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria has sacked a pilot of the college described by staff as one of the best in the school. The letter - CPF. 2303/Vol. I/139 - terminating the appointment of Bilyaminu Abba Usman signed by the NCAT’s Deputy Registrar, Abdullahi S. Mohammed, a copy of which is in possession of Weekly Trust, gave no reason for the sack. The letter dated October 18, 2013 reads in part; “I am directed to inform you that the management has approved the termination of your appointment for services no longer required with effect from 18th October, 2013.” However, investigation by Weekly Trust indicates that the sacking of Usman was initiated and executed by the Rector of the college, Mrs. Chinyere Kalu, contrary to the laws and ethics guiding the operation of the college. Some management staff of the college confirmed to Weekly Trust that they were not contacted before the action was taken. “How can we agree with that action while this fellow (Usman) is one of the best hands we have? All I know is that she has summoned an emergency meeting of the Appointment, Promotion and Disciplinary Committee (APDC) where she tabled a proposal for Bilyaminu’s dismissal from service largely because of personal grudges. Most of us kicked against that, and the next thing we heard was the sacking of this talented pilot. “Personally, I feel that the talent of the boy is what is threatening the Rector, otherwise how can a serious chief executive dare to lose such a person?” one of the college’s management staff who pleaded anonymity said. Our investigation showed that after a story was run by Weekly Trust exposing some of the scandals going on in the college that include alleged persecution of staff based on their beliefs and origin, a query was issued to Usman on October 11, 2013. The query asked Usman to explain within 48 hours why disciplinary action should not be taken against him for giving documents to the press, among other issues. The lingering question, according to some of the college’s staff, is what does Weekly Trust’s story got to do with the query since the query was issued on October 11, while the story was run on Saturday October 11, 2013, 24 hours before the story was published. On October 17, a letter of “last warning” was issued to Usman. “We thought that was the end of the issue, only for us to hear that the man’s appointment was terminated 24 hours later. This is unfair and it is something that we would not allow to stand. We have already informed our national union and we are waiting for their response. If nothing is done, this place would be completely shut down because we can’t allow a single person to be using personal grudges in terminating our appointments, apart from other atrocities,” a staff of the college who craved anonymity said. Weekly Trust reported in that story that since the assumption of office of Mrs. Kalu, about nine instructors/pilots of NCAT had either been sacked or resigned because of one problem or the other, the allegation that the Rector is yet to deny. The Rector has not also denied media reports that she was not eligible to be employed back as full staff of the NCAT and subsequently appointed as chief executive since she has retired from the service of the college sometimes in 1994 and her entitlements were paid. Before the sacking of Usman, the Rector has earlier suspended him for three months without pay over what the college described as his insubordination. Responding to the suspension, Usman, in a letter a copy of which Weekly Trust has, denied being insurbordinate, saying he was suspended over his attempts to renew his licence, which is a requirement that every pilot must fulfil, adding that the Rector only wants to use all means to terminate his appointment and have him replaced by her relatives. The Registrar of the college, Gabriel C. Onugha, in response to this allegation , in a letter, asked Usman to provide proof that the Rector wants to sack him. “I think now the world can see the proof because the Rector has proved the allegation by single-handedly sacking Bilyaminu,” a staff of the college said. Investigation also showed that after the expiration of Usman’s three months suspension on September 11, 2013, he received his salary pay advice for that month but the money was not paid to his account. “Yes, it is true that we did payment voucher with his name and that was why we gave him the payslip for September but the Rector later called and asked us not to pay him. This is why he has not received September and October salary because we were paid our October salary before Sallah,” a staff of the college who doesn’t want to be named said. The Principal Public Relations Officer of the NCAT, Mr. Philips Dimka refused to speak on the matter, saying only the Rector can do that. Dimka said she has travelled to Abuja, while promising to call back when she returns. As at the time of filing this report, there was still no response from Mr Dimka. Weekly Trust also contacted a female aide of the Rector, who is known as Sofi in the college, she told our correspondent that she can only respond to issues that have to do with commercial department of the college since that is where she works. Pilots and other staff of the NCAT are threatening to down tool over the sack of Usman and this has raised anxiety and apprehension among staff and even some management staff of the college, our investigation showed |

Why ppl r jst viewing without giving their comment or contribution on the subject matter, does that mean we 2 the young generations r so bias in which we can't figure out the justice among our leaders now.May God save us 4rm dis hypocrites. |
Why GEJ, Please Why? An Army Lieutenant Colonel a rebel waged an unsuccessful war to break up this country. He later died, but you gave him a state burial after spending resources to cater for his health and even made his wife an Ambassador. About a year later an Army General who gallantly fought in that war for unity of the seat your occupying now was brutally assassinated in his house, but not even a message of sympathy was sent immediately to his family talk less of a State burial or visiting the family, not even your Chief of Defense or Chief of Army Staff see it right to sympathized with the bereaved family? It is only in Nigeria that rebel's life was taken more important given due recognition than of the hero who suffered to ensure the unity of his motherland. Only during GEJ reign such madness become reality on our sense. Does sending handy Ministers to the family in Maiduguri month after the murder to condole change anything from me? May your gentle soul rest in perfect peace, Dear General Shuwa. Now we ask what does Jonathan want from North? To God Be The Glory!! |
To All,My main point is this: Because some wicked people go on rampage killing others doesn't mean their religion asked dem to.I am a Muslim and I swear to God there's no any other place that Islam mention to kill an innocent human being. Jesus is my Prophet and Messenger of God. I believe with him and I knew in his book there is no any place that mention to take a life of an Innocent Soul same as in my Book(Quran). So,Boko Haram are not practicing Islam and at the same time Whenever Boko Haram did their Devilish things pls don't judge it and say Muslims done it same as what those ppl 4rm ALUU community done I never mention it or took as Christians done it. I Believe it is an individual thing,I guess there's no Religion that will approve Killing Innocent Soul to be a good thing.Cheer's |
I have been thinking about those Christian Terrorists who hacked those four UniPort students to death and all I can think of is 'is this what dey r taught every other sunday? If u r a Christian reading this I know u will b angry and say 'this is nonsense!. Really? Is it really nonsense? Those Aluu Youths killed those boys in cold blood, and since d news has been making waves I haven't heard anyone say O dey r christianist! But after d Mubi killings d tabloids kept on saying 'Islamists' dey r boko haram members. I don't care if dey r boko haram members, but I care a lot if u call dem Islamists. Because some wicked people go on rampage killing others doesn't mean their religion asked dem to. If u wouldn't call those Aluu youths Christianists or attribute their gruesome act to christianity then please don't judge Islam by d activities of some mad people desperate for power and control. If u really believe those Aluu youths did what dey did because, as individuals their hearts r wicked, then u also have to believe dat individually d heart of d boko haram members r wicked. Islam doesn't preach terrorism, No it doesn't. The Prophet of Islam had Jewish neighbours dat he would visit when ever dey fell sick and even his uncle who contributed so much to d course of Islam was neva a muslim. Islam teaches good neighbourliness and d Prophet(Peace b upon Him) is reported to have said 'he is not a muslim he whom his neighbour is not free from his wickedness(tongue) 'he is not a muslim he who does not love for his neighbour what he loves for himself 'he is not a muslim he who's neighbour goes to bed hungry while he's got plenty'. Please study Islam and not d attitude of some crazy people who happen to be muslims. Thanks. |
