Lionel Messi has reportedly done enough for Paris Saint-Germain to want to keep hold of him next season - but Neymar could be off.

Messi, 34, joined PSG on a free transfer from Barcelona last summer.

Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has reportedly all-but agreed personal terms with Arsenal following months of talks with technical director Edu.

The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the 25-year-old over the past week as Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attack. I understand that they have been talking for a number of months about this possibility, to the extent that that part of negotiations, from what I hear, is pretty much done and dusted. But there has been no contact – to my knowledge so far – between the clubs. So that’s obviously a significant step that would need to be taken, but the early indications are that this is a move that Gabriel Jesus would be open to."

Mason Greenwood is not returning to training with Manchester United despite rumours on social media.

The forward, 20, was arrested in February on suspicion of sexual assault, rape and making threats to kill before being bailed. United then announced they had suspended the England international.

Manchester United have been forced to release a statement after fans staged a huge anti-Glazer protest before and during the 3-2 win over Norwich.Single-minded supporters descended upon Old Trafford this afternoon waving banners and chanting anti-Glazer sentiments.

Man Utd have released a statement following the latest fan protest at Old Trafford. The protest continued inside the Theatre of Dreams, with some fans refusing to take their seats until the 17th minute - marking one minute for every year of Glazer ownership.

And United have now released a statement insisting they respect the fans’ right to voice their opinions.

It read: “We are working hard to create the conditions for renewed success on the pitch, while strengthening our engagement with fans. We respect the right of fans to voice their opinions peacefully and we will continue to listen to them, with the aim of working together to get the club back to where we all want to be: competing for trophies.”

The Old Trafford protest came just one day after a handful of fans turned up at United’s Carrington training ground, demanding the Glazer family sell up. The latest march was accompanied by various chants including “We want Glazers out”, although some were also heard saying “Joe Glazer’s gonna die”.

But there were plenty of cheers at full-time after Cristiano Ronaldo's scorching free-kick sealed his hat-trick and a 3-2 win against Norwich.

As for the Glazer family, supporters want to see major restructuring at board level in a bid to improve results on the pitch.

One fan said: "We just want to highlight what's happening. We want people to know this is not a good club. What the transfers do is to make the share price go up or attract sponsors. They are not football people. We are not even close. It's a shambles."

Two non-league sides have smashed the penalty shootout world record... but hardly anyone was there to witness it.

It took FIFTY-FOUR spot-kicks to decide the winner between Northern League clubs Washington and Bedlington in the Ernest Armstrong Memorial Cup after the match ended 3-3 in normal time.

Washington eventually edged Bedlington by 25 successful penalties to 24 to emerge as winners of the epic clash, the BBC reported. However, only 40 fans were in the Ford Quarry Football Hub Stadium in Sunderland to witness history being created. Washington ace Bradley Chisholm, who scored a hat-trick during the first-round cup tie that included a stoppage-time penalty conversion, was chuffed with his side's efforts despite the lack of support.

He mused on Twitter after Washington etched their name in the history books: "Another 3 goals last night. "Then to set a world record penalty shootout," followed by a laughing emoji.

The previous Guinness World Record for the longest shootout was 48 attempts that was set in 2005 when KK Palace beat Civics 17-16 in the Namibian Cup. Non-League clubs seem to have a knack for having extremely long shootouts. Old Wulfrunians and Lane Head were embroiled in a penalty battle that required 44 attempts over the course of a half-hour to decide a winner back in 2021.

Every player for non-league sides had to take two kicks each with Wulfrunians winning 19-18. Another lengthy non-league spot-kick war took place in 2019 that required Taunton Town and Truro City to take a combined number of 34 kicks to settle their Southern League Challenge Cup tie. Both sides were likely relieved when Taunton midfielder Jack Rice netted the winner after 34 minutes of penalties that required the club chairman and groundsman to rebuild the penalty spot once the tie was finally over.

An Argentine referee was chased down and attacked by virtually an entire football team after they lost on penalties in a cup final. The match official tried to sprint away from the furious players before being mercilessly punched and kicked to the ground.

Fans on the side watched on helplessly in the video shared by Argentine news outlet Radio Jesus Maria as the horrendous assault continued as La Puerta's opponents Sportivo Tirolesa celebrated their victory. Referee Eduardo Pastorino was taken to hospital to be treated for the injuries he sustained.

Regional league president Gustavo Garcia, filmed being punched as he tried to stop the violence, also needed medical treatment. The scandalous scenes occurred at the end of an amateur cup final in Colonia Tirolesa in the Argentine province of Cordoba. Several spectators were also said to have joined in on the attack on the ref and league president after jumping over the perimeter fence onto the pitch. Photos of the moment Garcia was assaulted showed a man knocking him down from behind before another kicked him as he lay on the ground by the centre circle. Eight La Puerta players and three spectators have already been identified by police as the alleged aggressors. Local reports say La Puerta had complained about several refereeing decisions during the game before the penalty shootout. It is not yet known the condition of referee Pastorino.

In October, a Brazilian footballer was charged with attempted murder after he was filmed kicking a referee in the head. Former Sport Club Sao Paulo ace William Ribeiro attacked the ref after he awarded a foul against him during a league game away against Guarani. The game was halted for nearly 15 minutes while Rodrigo Crivellaro was taken to hospital.

Video footage from the match showed how Ribeiro booted Crivellaro to the ground before taking another horrible kick to his head.

After team owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned, Hyundai and Zapp may follow Three in terminating their contracts. The Blues have been blocked from selling home and away match tickets and merchandise sales have also been halted as a result of the sanctions.

The club lost their £40million-a-year sponsorship deal with telecommunications company Three. Official Chelsea partners Zapp are also reviewing their partnership with the club.

Hyundai also shared the following statement: "Hyundai has become one of the strongest partners in football over the years and the company supports the sport to be a force for good. We are currently assessing the situation with Chelsea."

The club's deal with Hyundai is worth £50m whereas the arrangement with Three comes up to £120m in total, which means the west Londoners are facing a loss worth up to £170m.

Chelsea could also face a nine-point penalty IF the club end up in administration as a result of a lack of income.

If they hit with that punishment today, they would drop to seventh in the Premier League table with Arsenal and Manchester United moving up into the Champions League spots.

The Blues are five points above the Gunners and six points above fifth-placed United. If points margins stay the same between now and the end of the season, both West Ham and Tottenham could also leapfrog Chelsea in the table. According to the Daily Mail's Rob Draper, the sanctions will be reviewed in May.

Chelsea's travel for away games could also be affected. The club is only allowed to spend £20,000 on travel for away matches. That throws their trip to Lille in the Champions League into major doubt. Chelsea beat the French side 2-0 in the first leg of their last-16 showdown in February, with the second leg on Wednesday night. The club would ordinarily fly out on a private plane the day before the match and stay in a luxury hotel. However, that is likely to breach the £20,000 budget laid out in the 'Russian regulations.'
