He is a true legend. RIP Jackie, you inspired many |
A familiar problem Everyone living in Nigeria today has one common complaint: “expensive data cost for poor internet service”. What I hear more often at the point of subscription is the demand for cheaper internet subscription plans and what follows after subscription is the demand for better service, higher speed and unlimited data. The truth is the technology available for internet connectivity to most Nigerians today is largely limited in capacity i.e. mobile, copper cables and wireless broadband. Fibre Optics is the only technology that conquers the limitations faced by these networks but is unfortunately largely unavailable in the country – but that can be fixed, you can have Fibre Optics in Nigeria anywhere! Use Fibre Optics to connect to internet Fibre Optics is the most reliable means of connecting to the Internet today, Nigeria not being an exception. Fibre optics is preferred for speed, reliability and useable data limit, which by the way is unlimited on fibre optics networks. Fibre Optic networks support unlimited video, voice and data transmission. Subscribers can use it for unlimited Internet Tv viewing, transmission of CCTV signals, web browsing, email communications, remote access to digital home appliances and cameras, etc. Where Fibre optic network exists in a geographical community and made available for direct-to-the door connection, it is referred to as Fibre to the Home (FTTH). FTTH offers dedicated bandwidths, unlike the mobile internet networks which is not only shared but mostly congested. It is common to see new mobile network providers offering high speed internet access but for a short period of time; pending when their subscriber base is grown and often times overloaded due to over-subscription. Whereas in the case of Fibre Optic networks every subscriber is given a unique and dedicated virtual channel with a guaranteed speed, thus every subscriber experience does not degrade with the growing number of subscribers on the network nor the usage of other subscribers on the network per time. To be fair, mobile networks have their strength and should not be viewed as competing with the fixed networks like fibre optics but as complementary service providing internet access on the go rather than as a direct substitute to fixed networks. Some key advantages of the Fibre to the Home (FTTH): - Easy to install. - Only internet connectivity technology unaffected by rain. - Immune to electromagnetic interference. - Nothing hurts fibre optic cables unless a physical cut or damage to the equipment. - Most scalable internet solution. It can accommodate your future growths to any level. - Cannot go obsolete. Changes in technology would not require uprooting or replacement of the fibre cables but a change of the terminal equipment, which would only be minimal. - Fibre optic networks consumes less power and requires little or no maintenance. How to connect to Fibre Optic Internet First, you have to confirm there’s a company offering FTTH service in your locality. Most companies offering FTTH in Nigeria do so using wireless radio as last mile, which is not quite different from the mobile networks. FTTH service is best enjoyed when offered end-to-end on fibre optic cable. If you find an FTTH Operator in your locality, connecting to the service might not cost much more than acquiring a wireless service but could take slightly more time to deploy. Depending on your location, it could take 1 – 12 weeks to complete. If you need Fibre Optic Network deployed to your estate or business area, consider contacting Syscomptech, they deploy FTTH at no cost to Estate owners and are reputable for personalized technical support to their subscribers. Syscomptech provides both yahclick and fibre internet services nationwide, we are thus in a better position to advise you on a preferred option between both services. From your need description, Fibre is the preferred option for you. It is also important to note that infrastructure reliability in Nigeria is still low, you should thus consider using a Fibre Optic Internet Service provider that is not restricted to only 1 cable infrastructure due to the high risk of fibre cuts experienced in Nigeria. At Syscomptech we offer Fibre internet links backed by 3 redundant providers and the beauty of it all is that the rate is about same with that of the main and yet single link providers. Every prospective fibre subscription begins with a site survey to ascertain we can deliver up to our promised 99.97% SLA and to determine the best lastmile technology to use in delivering the service to your door, so to take it from here visit https://www.syscomptech.com/contact-us.php You are welcome. mashnino: |

The choice of Internet Service Provider should be before contacting the ISPs and not after receiving various quotes. Every ISP has its own strength, where your peculiar needs meets a particular ISP's strength that is where initiating contact becomes necessary. Most ISPs you've labeled as poor are actaully excellent ISPs that failed to match your kind of needs. On this post, I will offer you guide on choosing your ISP and bandwidth options if you would describe your user needs: 1. Number of users (including mobile devices) 2. Nature of usage (office, personal, cafe, etc) 3. Location (e.g. KMC kano, Eleme PH, Ikeja - be as specific as possible) 4. Special usage (e.g. Cloud services, VPN, etc) |
chrysso83: Why is nobody talking about glo here? abi dem no dey naija again?Surprises me too. Glo is Nigerian. Can we be patriotic here pls? |
None is better than the other in terms of quality of service as they suffer similar challenges in terms of personnel and infrastructure - however some networks are better than the orrder within a given locality: thus urr choice should mainly be based of the network with best service within urr area...and of cos the network offering tarrif that suits ur pocket size |
irebombo: pls am very serious nlders i am trying to move back finallyto naija i want your opinoionThere are lots of businesses to invest in or start in Nigeria but I can promise u 1 thing, it takes more than having the cash to succeed in the Nigerian business terrain. You must have a vision and let purpose drive ur directions. You also a sound entrepreneurship training - I recommend EDC or FATE foundation. If your interest is in doubling your cash, I suggest u invest it where u r right now or in some safe bonds. Else, if u have really want to grow it in NGR, then find some young biz and join as an investor (I suggest going 2tru EDC or FATE to find one of such). Or better still I could sell 1 of my ideas. However, the best biz is the one u have a passion 4, especially 1 in line with the job you have buit ur career path in. Good luck! |
I have heard varied opinions on the importance of the National Youth Service scheme, NYSC and as the constitution review proceeds many has called for its scrapping. Many lives may have been lost from the scheme but scraping it is like closing the only school in a community because pupils get crushed by cars while on their way to school. NYSC is a vital tool for unity and mutual understanding in Nigeria. Personally I lost my childhood friend to Kano 2004 riots while we were serving in kano but today I have more regard for northerners and muslims than I had b4 going to serve in kano because I had an opportunity to interact and understand them forrr myself and not draw erronous conclusions from myths and hearr-says. Rather than scrap NYSC, govt should take her responsibilities in providing security for EVERYONE! The hundreds of worshipers that lost lives during the Xmas day bombing were not corps members neither were those killed in the Onitsha/Aba repraisal attacks. Most of the corpers that were counted missing during the kano riots actually abondoned their PPAs for their home-town long b4 the riots. IT has given us more than enough tools for national and human security. Every corper can carry biometric ID cards for effctive audit and monitoring. The cards can carry tracking chips to easily locate the bearer anytime-anywhere (this can save many who like me where trapped hiding in hot spots). NYSC can have a dedicated helpline (shortcode) linked directly to NSA or IGP. Trust me our security personnels can savage any crises (if they choose to) I've seen them in action. These solutions are so easy, I can even design the entire system forr free. Scrapping NYSC will be a proclaimation of FGN's inability to protect her citizens! A shame!!! NYSC taught me so much in appreciating other tribes and respecting their culture, religion and worldview I would say the constitution should make it mandatory that none can serve at Federal public level without haven passed through the NYSC! |
