FREE ESCROW SERVICE; SCARCITY; CABALS; FEAR AND VOLUNTEER - MY VIEW

It is very sad that some of us that are "trusted" are usually unavailable most of the time to render this selfless service.

However, when it comes to money issue, people need to be convinced more by our actions than our write up.

I am 100% sure that there are hundreds of members here that are very trustworthy and that are willing to assist in free escrow service to assist others. But because of the sensitivity of the task, not all of them would be approached for the service

The truth is this: There is no cabal whatsover on ESCROW, remember it's done free, so no reason to dominate on such task. In fact, my joy is to see many trustworthy people emerging and relieving me of the many escrow requests I received daily of which I reject more than 50%

Fear is always created in the mind when a member announce his willing to offer FREE ESCROW service. Reason being that it's the EASIEST method to perpetrate scam activity.

I know some members are feeling the pain caused by scammers and they are willing to offer FREE ESCROW service but nobody would want to believe in their sincerity. Sadly, this can't be helped

There are ways to show our legit nature and to gain people's trust, not a day or a month job though. But very sadly, opening such information on the forum where the SCAMMER study more than the rest of us is very dangerous. I wish naraland has a crying emoji, it use is needed at the moment. So very sad

I am so confused because I am sad each time I reject ESCROW seeker (and it can't be helped cos I have personal ordeal to cater for as well) and there are members willing to do this selfless job but we are unable to differentiate between legit and scammer.

Please quote me if you have advice on a way forward.

P.S. If nairaland have official escrow, things would have been different, but sadly we only have option of unverified "trusted" members at the moment.

What I observed recently...

Following the impersonation of Frankmoney [/b]and [b]Shina101, I realize that these monikers are not popular but one thing is common to them.....

They are traders with no number on their profile. So, no way to verify if the scammer is telling the truth about the moniker except you ask him to mention you on nairaland. Infact, the one that impersonate frankmoney boldly told me that he did not put his number on his profile. He only ran after I asked him to mention me with his moniker.

Though Frankmoney now has his number on his after the incidence.

My advice

I would advice that every ttrader have his number on the signature or other place in the profile in order to reduce impersonation. I know some of us don't like to put number in public place, but we can buy new SIM purposely for business.

Hopefully, this will reduce the new impersonation technique

With determination to curb too much scam cases here (for now ) i'm online 15hrs a day to escrow any deal.
my Oga Tabbaz and other escrow has done tremendously.
as scammers keeps introducing and initating new technique we shall keep bursting them.

As my struggle to reduce scam dey make me prone to ban by antispam bot. I have been using my wife moniker to fill the bridge between my ban and unban.

meanwhile, a popular scammer that is using dp attached (though the dp is most likely an innocent guy) tried to scam another fellow (daemperor1) few minutes ago using this number +2349078231851

He impersonated Frankmoney and even claimed that I knew him

He ran away after I requested him to mention me on nairaland

I only called first cos I was in need of the coins urgently . I later chatted after I store the number


NOTE: Calling with my naija number from here is too expensive, that's y I don't use it for calling. I don't receive call with it either

P.S. My main moniker is currently serving ban after I updated scammer list in the morning with one crazy fellow that scammed Doyinlawal. I already announced this my wife moniker earlier on this thread.

Always assist yourself by running a check here on nairaland and on google on number and moniker before trading. Even if you traded with him yesterday.


Ozor1 was once trusted but he is scamming all his old customers as I type. They rely on his previous reputation not knowing he has turned to sccammer. His name and number are already blacklisted but unfortunately, he continue to scam innocent souls
