Goes to show that you are not really conversant with the political situation in Rwanda. To start I agree with you that what triggered the genocidal war against the Tutsis was the death of the President of Rwanda via a plane crash in 1994. Till date no one has come up with plausible explanation as to what led to the crash, but the majority Hutus believed it was planned and executed by the leadership of the minority Tutsis in order to gain political power. If you care to know, the West does not like Paul Kagame because he remains one of the few African leaders who are not only self- assured, confident and intelligent but has been able to stand up to the colonial tendencies that manifest in master- servant relationship between Africa and the West. Furthermore, he has been threatened many times to be dragged to the ICC for war crimes and crimes against humanity. They wouldn't do that to their allies or someone you claim the West supports. Back home, he has remained a unifying and stabilizing factor in Rwanda and continues to make effort towards total reconciliation of the Rwanda people not so much along the Hutu Tutsi divide but ensuring national cohesion, unity and solidarity. The Rwandan nation under him has become one of the most organized and orderly countries in Africa. Their economy progresses year on year basis and illiteracy is being tackled aggressively. Inter marital union between both ethnic group has been the highest since the creation of that country. In summary, Paul Kagame by African standard is way up there. If we have a leader with a fraction of his dexterity, man and resource management, intelligence,sagacity in Nigeria I think we would have gone a long way in our March to nationhood.

It's obvious many of you don't even know she been starring in Tinsel as 'Adanna' since January. Her performance as a guest artist has been flawless and I guess many of our Nollywood artists can learn a few things from her graceful conducts. Sad to see her go by end of March because she would have completed her role in the programmer.

Ask several coup plotters and 'suspected' coup plotters what General Azazi's job is. His job has always been to protect likes of IBB and Abacha from coup plotters and sentence them to death in tribunal, so abeg leave these saintly yarns.

The guy really fooled the house if indeed they thought he has apologised. He was infact defending his submission that their action is tantamount to legislative rascality. One needs to go back to the dictionary and check the meaning of APOLOGIA.

I totally agree with you that Soludo is a better manager than Sanusi. The fact of the matter is that Sanusi not only acted in haste, but executed his agenda with malice and vengeance. The banking crisis arose because of the sub-prime mortgage in the West, what you can call loan advancement in Nigeria. While the US and other western govt are finding solution to their problem without over dramatising the issue, secretary of treasury has not recommended any bank MD or EDs for the guillotine.In any case Sanusi has been part of the problem. Under him, loans running into billions of naira went bad and provisions made as seen in the recent financial statement of FBN. He is garrulous and does not have the temperament of a person fit to occupy such sensitive portfolio. His comments are not only killing the financial services industry, the macro economic environment has been seriously injured. Foreign direct investment has virtually seized and the available ones are taking flight from the economy. No nation can ever develop when you muzzle your banks and create situation of instability by reckless utterances as those by Sanusi. The pronouncement of a Geithener will always have a far reaching effect on banks, money market, stock market,interest rates and other macroeconomic variables in the US.

And it is time the Nigerian Govt realised that the Headship of CBN is meant for seasoned economists and perhaps chartered accountants who understand the dynamics and complex nature of finance. It is not a position for carrier bankers who know next to nothing about macroeconomic management other than managing the intricacies of the debit and credit of everyday banking situation.
