But you indicated her as your wife? If yes I dont think so. A mail was sent to the respect, but I dont know if they still include it in the mail they send now. One of the reasons for denial is using the wrong type of visa. When it was allowed for VITEM IV recipients to go with family its still family reunion. Coolbrackman: So you mean I can’t have a tourist application done because I have a family over there ? It was also a tourist invitation letter that was done from Brazil . |

Hello guys. I said something about sending in documents for visa before getting a response for legalization. I said that because I know 4 guys who aint PEC-PG neither GCUB, that were told to send in their documents on Monday, having uploaded their documents 2 days earlier.
However, now, I got a notice from someone that the Consulate is now beginning to send back people's documents. I guess we should kindly wait for them.
Lets kindly take note please. |

Coolbrackman: Any one with how yo re-apply after having not approved visa for visiting even with the authorized invitation letter from my wife and I only have a scan copy of it attached. Will I need to get the original invitation letter, could that be the reason of getting not approved for the visiting visa because I didn’t got for the family reunion because it takes time. I will like if there is any that can share how they reapply after getting not approved. It was rejected because you used the wrong type of visa. For family, its family reunion |

Mide3367: . It was something else entirely. Got it yesterday. Brazilian embassy has now made it mandatory to legalize your documents before you can apply for student visa. And police character certificate must come with receipt from ministry of foreign affairs.
First authenticate at ministry of foreign affairs and ministry of education
Notarize at either of the 2 law chambers approved by the embassy
Legalize at embassy
That's when you can apply for student visa now.
That's why my documents were sent back. I only notarize and authenticated all documents. No legalization done. I need to get receipt for my police character certificate now before i can apply for legalization because it is mandatory Oh I see. Also take note of the final instruction regarding Cartorio. It means someone here could assist you with that, I guess you supervisor should be able to help you with that. |

As it might seem as though the PEC-PG is out of grip, my advice is you could still reach out to the department, informing them about the result. Its true they know about it even before you, but you can as well reach out to them. They wont beat you. Someone did and got a bit of a greenlight. You can as well do.
However, what I suspect is you might end up using self funding for the initial period of your study (If you get a reply). Also, this is holiday period, getting a reply could be a bit delayed.
Godspeed. |

Regarding scholarship. Have you talked to your coordinator about it. If not, try asking the person or reach out to your department to enquire about the chances of getting a scholarship in the latter semester and how soon. also note that there is an open and internal call for PEC-PG. I have someone that got admitted and his assigned supervisor already advised him to apply for the PEC-PG so he should begin study in March. So please talk to any of the persons I mentioned. As regards what you can do. If you dont already have a ready skill I dont know any other means to get along here based on the city I am. Sewing is a good one though cos they love our native attires. I am still owing some people here. You can work around that but thats by the side, for now reach out to those guys. OluAbby: Hello… Good evening, everyone
I recently got admission into University of Santa Maria to start March 2026. No scholarship
That means I have to take care of my bills and other expenses. I need guidance on which skill which fetch me more money - I am a teacher but I have basic skills in sewing, I’m thinking of doing advanced level before coming to Brazil or learn data analytics via YouTube and other learning platforms.
Also, will the school inform me on how to go about visa processing? I don’t know how that works or how much it will cost and proof of funds too.
Please I’d appreciate any advice I can get. Thank you! |

Dear candidates,
CAPES informs that the technical team is already aware of the instabilities that occurred in the registration platform of the Graduate Student Agreement Program (PEC-PG) and is taking the necessary measures to improve the service.
We clarify that no candidate will be harmed due to these instabilities, as registrations will be extended and a new schedule published on the program's page.
If you have already completed your registration and have not received proof of payment, it can be generated later in SICAPES, as soon as the system is back to normal.
CAPES thanks everyone for their understanding and reiterates that it is available for any questions or clarifications.
Yours sincerely, PEC-PG / CAPES Team
I got this from someones email. I guess its confirmed now. So guys be calm. |

If you plan to bring in your family, you might need to legalize your marriage certificate. For your academic records, reach out to your coordinator to find out and you can as well use your supervisor as the recipient if there would be a need to send your documents to Brazil. However, in my case, the embassy returned them to me in Nigeria but things like always say have changed since then. Again for the sake of others, School cert is not always needed hence not necessary to include during legalization. Thank you. |

Jenny502: Good morning, my first degree course is computer science..and l will like to go with any available course that’s also coming with science This in my opinion isnt a nice decision. PG is more than anything goes, it should be based on your research intentions and not just the course of study. Reach out to the desired departmental pages and google up Professors and their research or better still check for the departmental research lines and pick. Not just by the course because it could be frustrating along the line. ~#dIsCeRn |

Eyinbo yi po. However, the guy could be correct cos it seems its his experience. as the email was sent to him in 2023. Also, consider this that the typos in the email could slightly alter meaning. sadegivens0: @Africankel… It appears that we are still on this topic. Having read the email exchange between you and the Consulate. The email from the Consulate contradicts the previous statement about retrieving passports without prejudice, implying that the originals are needed for the initial submission. Here's a breakdown of what each part implies:
Content:
"You may retrieve your passports without prejudice to your visa application’s, but remember of making complete colorful copies of your passports, send with the originals, which will be returned to anytime at your order to some parcel service company, informing us ahead of time." Explanation: This sentence is a bit awkwardly phrased but conveys an important message. It means that the applicant can take their passports back even while their visa application is being processed, but they must submit complete, color copies of their passports along with the original passports. The original passports will be returned to the applicant via a parcel service at their request, provided the consulate is informed in advance. "Without presenting the original passports, though, your visa application will not be processed." This statement means that you must show your actual, physical passports when you submit your visa application. Explanation: This is a crucial instruction. It explicitly states that the visa application will not be processed if the original passports are not presented to the consulate in the first place. This contradicts the previous statement about retrieving passports without prejudice, implying that the originals are needed for the initial submission.
Here's a breakdown of what each part implies: "Without presenting the original passports...": This emphasizes that copies, scans, or any other form of reproduction of your passport will not be accepted. They need to see the genuine document. "...though,...": This acts as a transition, highlighting the critical nature of the preceding condition. "...your visa application will not be processed.": This is the consequence. If you don't provide the original passports, the people reviewing your application will not even begin to look at it, much less approve or deny it. It will be immediately halted or rejected at the initial stage. In essence, it's a non-negotiable requirement. No original passports, no visa processing. |

If you are truly seeking a postgraduate program, let google be your friend. I must say this , some questions we ask here arent necessary. I guess thats why some of us get deceived. You will be shocked that the person giving you information at a cost, doesnt know enough compared to what you would have discovered by yourself. Search and you shall find. Begin now. Use the information you have here and translate it into what you desire. People have been doing this and its still working.
Best of God in your search guys |
