OK. I am understanding small small. God bless you for me. Just to be sure I am not doing the wrong thing, please see the steps I am following;

1. Gather all my documents
2. Notarize at the Notary public and MFA. Please for this, am I notarizing two sets of documents? since you said I will send one to my contact in Brazil? ( Please help me break it down. I don't want to make mistakes.
3. Fill the online form
4. Book appointment for both legalization and study visa
5. Please how do I know how much to pay since I am supposed to make payment for legalization before sending via courier?

ALSO, PLEASE AM I NOTARIZING ALL DOCUMENTS (Apart from PC that is supposed to be notarized with MOFA)

Your email. Let me send you a guide

No you are notarizing a single set of documents.

Academic and non academic(marriage or birth certificate)

Each academic document is #9000 and #36000 for non academic. You can make payment online

Am i to send the documents after booking an appointment on the embassy's page? If so,. am I to select Legalization of non brazillian documents or to select study visa? Im so confused, please help. embarassed

After the online application, go ahead to book appointment for both. They are separate requests. Follow the prompt for each and wait for the embassy to acknowledge your request. You would be advised to print the receipt of appointment and add to the documents you are sending to them

Also for the legalization with notary public, can I legalize copies of transcript and certificate or that must be taken to MOE? Please respond urgently

You dont need the MOE for those but you need MOFA for police report and then you legalize

Hello and thank you for this. The second paragraph about sending documents, please can you explain further? I will send two couriers, one to Brazil and one to the embassy here? Please help me break it down. Thanks

You are sending a single courier but two packages.

One is for embassy authentication. You will have to include a receiver's address in Brazil and the person's ID in this case copy of permanent resident card.

The second documents are the entire copies you uploaded on the application website.

For one, you would include copy of payment receipt and the embassy would send on your behalf once they are done.

For two, they would send this back to you when they are through.

NB: this would be two payments, international and local. They would explain to you when you get there.

If you are in Lagos you can go to EMS in VI. It's easier and way cheaper.

Thank you for your response, I've read through the thread, I just need someone that can walk me through the process as it seems there are slight changes in the rules

All you need so is
legalize your documents with the prescribed notary publics but for the Police character you have to take it to MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS in Abuja for legalization
Then pay for embassy authentication
Then fill the manual form sent to you and upload it together with the listed required documents.
Then go to the appointment site after submission to book an appointment
An email would be sent to you to send the hard copy. In this case it must include all the documents you want to authenticate+the ones you uploaded and your original passport.

The sending of documents must be done via your courier of choice and you must include a prepaid envelope in your parcel which the embassy would use to send your documents back to you. Two for your authenticated documents you are supposed to send it to an address in Brazil so you could tell you supervisor about this by asking for his address. This means you would be paying for both local (to and fro) and international courier fee but both would be addressed to the embassy. It is the embassy tha would help you send your authenticated documents to Brazil and for your other documents and passport they would be send back to your Nigeria address ensure you include your receipt of payments in the parcel

Hello nairalanders
I just got admission for my masters in Brazil, and I'm now at the visa application stage but I don't seem to understand the process, I've emailed the embassy and they sent documents for me to fill. I've also gotten my police character certificate. I will really appreciate any help I can get here.
Thank you all

Next time, jot down the names of those you send money and thoroughly cross check the acct name you're sending the money to ..
Those three should return the money or face some penalty .. I have policemen that can locate them and jail them up if they fail to comply.

Good day everyone, wonderful thread and my appreciation to everyone sharing information on this thread.I want to ask how long it takes for the Brazil consulate to acknowledge application. I submitted my application via their website last week Saturday and I am yet to get an acknowledgement of my application. Because I read on this page that one is supposed to get an email stating application in being reviewed. I read somewhere that it's supposed to be within 48hrs, I don't know if this had changed. Thank you

It takes longer now about a week and a half max. Also pray that nothing is missing too

I heard applications have been extended to July 1st.

And I need advice please.

Currently running my masters in FUTA and I should round up by August/September next year, God willing.

From my research on this program, they usually resume in March.

Let's say I'm lucky to be chosen and you're in my shoes, what would you do?

Abandon FUTA for this? Abandon this and complete FUTA? Apply for a deferment at FUTA?

What would you do?

Well why not try applying for a PhD instead with your almost concluded program

Aside GCUB, please when can one start to apply to individual universities? Have been trying to search their various website all in futility

That would be done by GCUB.

It is believed that applying to the school could lead to "silent" disqualification.

I know a few that had such experience. Like I said, it's speculated so

Hello. In the application form for GCUB, there is a place for uploading academic transcript. My University doesn't hand out physical copies of academic transcripts.

Please, what can be done about this. I would have traveled down to the school but they are currently on internal strike.

Sorry to hear that. But you could have applied using a private address, say company or something.

But then it's late now to do so for the GCUB. Just go ahead and apply

I didn't do the consent form because both parents are travelling with the minor, they reviewed and told me to send the documents via DHL.

I guess if only one parent is travelling with the minor then a consent form is required.

Oh thank you so much.

Thank you to everybody that shared one or two cents on the group. I came to the topic and started reading from page 1 to 175 which was when I joined.

We applied for our visa March 8, submitted documents via DHL March 15, changed to under review April 3, my wife was invited for interview on April 15th, interview was scheduled for April 24th. Our visas was approved May 10th.

N.B Please always check the portal don't wait for email, till now I'm still yet to recieve an email.

We just got our passport from DHL, it was a stressful journey but were rewarded at the end.

We stated 14days in our application, to visit Rio De Janeiro, Salvador Bahia and Sao Paulo.

Thank you all, I pray those waiting for their visas will get good news soonest

it was notarised first, before taken to the embassy as part of the visa application documents

Not the authorization form though I mean the consent form. They sent the list of documents to me and they listed the authorization form and consent letter in there. it was stated there that it must be signed at the ministry of foreign affairs and also notarized.
