Politics › No Benefit In Naira Devaluation, Buhari Insists by Taeewo(op): 5:35am On Jun 28, 2016 |
Olalekan Adetayo, Abuja President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday said he did not see any benefit that the country could derive from the devaluation of the naira. This is despite the implementation of the flexible exchange rate policy, which has somehow led to the devaluation of the nation’s currency. Buhari spoke during the breaking of the Ramadan fast with members of the business community at the Presidential Villa, Abuja. The President said he was not comfortable with the reports he was getting from the Central Bank of Nigeria for the devaluation of the currency. He said the rate of the naira to the dollar had increased astronomically between August 1985 and now. The President said, “What do we derive from that? How much benefit can we derive from this ruthless devaluation of the naira? I am not an economist, neither a businessman. I fail to appreciate what is the economic explanation. “What has happened to us now is that we have maneuvered ourselves into a mono economy, which led to the collapse we are seeing now. “A lot of responsibilities now fall on your (business community’s) shoulders now. You have a lot of investments, a lot of people you employ.” Buhari also said 13 states had been identified as capable of producing rice that could feed the nation in 18 months. The Chairman of Unilever Plc, Chief Kola Jamodu, on behalf of the business community, promised their support for the present administration in its efforts to revamp the economy. Jamodu said the support was necessary because the private sector could not thrive if the economy was in disarray. He also lauded the government’s move to diversify the economy, adding, “We are with you as you strive to reposition the Nigerian economy. We are very much in support of your move to diversify the economy. “I have the mandate of the group to tell you that we will give you all the support, because if the economy is in disarray, the private sector cannot survive.” Others, who attended the event, included Chief Femi Otedola, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, Mr. Tony Elumelu, Mr. Wale Tinubu and Mrs. Folorunsho Alakija. www.punchng.com/no-benefit-naira-devaluation-buhari-insists/

Thanks Matoni: Forex is a simple business of pairing currencies and then deciding to buy or sell based on the information u gather.
Right now we know Naira is appreciating against the dollar based on actions CBN is taking.
IF exchange rate was N300/$1 and u anticipate Naira will gain more value in d nearest future (e.g to N250/$1) as a FX trader u shld simply stack as many naira as possible so immediately it appreciates, u will exchange it for dollar.
This way, $1000 that you would have bought for N300000 will now be bought for N250000, meaning u gained N50k
Unfortunately Naira is not included in online FX trade. But there are loads of other currencies like pounds, euro, dollar, yen, etc
Were u ff the news about England voting to leave the EU? Just yesterday those that predicted England will leave and dollar will fall made a fortune. Any currency you paired with GBP, and you place a sell, u re sure to make profit.
In forex profit or loss is made per trade and is dependent on the decision you make.
The profit or loss you can make depends on how much you invest in that particular trade.
Profit or loss is calculated per pip (google what a pip is if u don't know) and before placing a trade you can choose what value you wish to give a pip.
For instance, you can value a pip at $1, $2, $10, $50, you can in fact value a pip at $0.01, $0.02, $0.05, $0.1, etc
So if u decide to buy and the market moves in your favor at say 100pips, your profit will be the value you gave for each pip times 100. E.g. $0.01 *100 or $50*100. Same thing goes if you make a wrong decision.
In online, forex trading, you can also control your loss or profit by automatically or manually ending the trade.
The market is not straight forward as it moves like a wave.
At the end of a trade, if you make a profit, you can decide to withdraw it into your bank account through the help of your broker.
Brokers are the people that provide the trading platform they also provide the means to fund and withdraw. They are like Federal government, providing basic amenities and charging tax.
For brokers, their own tax is called SPREAD. For every trade you place, they first take away some pips (ranging from 1-10pips) valued at whatever you valued it.
You can start forex with as low as $10 or about N3300. You can start forex with as low as $10 or about N3300. If you get it right you are sure to make a decent 1$ or 2$ daily trading 0.02 or 0.04 lot size (I.e every pip will earn/cost you 0.02 or 0.04)
You can also start by opening a demo account
To make good decisions, you need to be abreast of current and past economic news. Alternatively, you can master "technical indicators" that you will download in your laptop.
Hope it helps? |

You can call me any name you wish, its fine but, I can authoritatively and categorically state that this is not a scam in anyway.
I among those that trained and currently working with Access call center @ VI so stop saying what you don’t know.
Many of us smiled when we read it at the office on friday.
Pros
You will receive the best training ever including practical
Well coached before you meet with employer
You get job opportunities through them
***Salary OK
Cons
Salary is fine but not 150K
Opportunity is not immediately after training as they make its sound (marketing strategy) some of us waited more than 6 weeks while some got it earlier
Fact is that, their recruitment/marketing strategy might have ‘K-Leg’but it is not in any way a scam,to all those preaching scam …. Calm down ….. if you need a job and can afford the training go for it. |

Politics › Our People Are Suffering, Avengers Tell Buhari by Taeewo(op): 8:56pm On Jun 25, 2016 |
Ovie Okpare – Warri MILITANT group, Niger Delta Avengers, on Saturday, asked President Muhammadu Buhari to visit the Niger Delta region to see for himself what the people are passing through despite the huge revenue from the region. In a statement signed by the spokesman of the militant group, Moduch Agbinibo, lamented the under development of the region. The statement pointed out that President Buhari needs to visit some of the host communities of some oil multinational firms to have a firsthand judgment of what the people of the region have been subjected to for years. According to the group, “The Nigeria President Buhari should visit Ugborodo, host to Chevron crude oil Export terminal/EGTL gas plant, Ogulagha, host to Shell Forcados Crude Oil Export terminal/tank farm, Bonny Island, host to Shell Bonny Crude Oil Export terminal/NLNG gas terminal, Brass host to Agip/ENI export terminal and Ibeno, host to ExxonMobil Qua Iboe crude export terminal. “These are just the export terminals not talking about the numerous oil and gas flow stations and the oil Wells that crisscrossed the length and breadth of the Niger Delta.” “Mr President come and see for yourself what the host communities are going through in the hands of Nigeria government and the multinationals,” the statement further added. www.punchng.com/come-see-people-passing-avengers-buhari/ |
Politics › Ekiti APC Behind Protest Against Me – Fayose by Taeewo(op): 8:50pm On Jun 25, 2016 |
Kamarudeen Ogundele, Ado Ekiti Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has described the call for his resignation as “laughable and absolute balder dash.” He was responding to a protest staged by a coalition of civil society organisations and the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties on Friday in Ado Ekiti. Fayose spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Idowu Adelusi, in an interview on Saturday. Adelusi alleged that those behind the protest were All Progressives Congress stalwarts. He also said the state government had no comment to make concerning the alleged denial by Zenith Bank of their team coming to beg the governor. “The photographs and video clips did reveal everything. But we are keeping our fingers crossed for the next line of step to take should Zenith Bank continued to be unreasonable.” According to Adelusi, the delay in payment of workers’ salaries in Ekiti cannot be blamed on the Fayose administration because it was not his administration that plunged the state into a huge debt which has now made the creditors to continue to deduct N1.2bn on monthly basis from the allocation of the state. www.punchng.com/ekiti-apc-behind-protest-fayose/
