I had an epic speech all planned out on what and how I was going to ask my best friend to spend the rest of her life with me... but when I saw her come down the stairs seemingly carrying the beauty of the world on her shoulders I lost all train of thought... my legs got weak... I even lost my balance... I'm a pretty lucky guy in God name and so luckily the only knee I needed landed in perfect position on a floor of rose petals with the ring in my hand. I looked up and into her eyes and her hands were over her face... I couldn't help but to congratulate myself on this perfect timing because her nails were freshly done... then I proceeded to express the much shorter and out of order version of my once well thought out and prepared speech...: ��

"I don't want to spend another day in question about our future. I can't imagine my life moving forward without you in it. And I like REALLY hope that you might feel the same about me as I do about you... @ekene._ , Will you marry me?" ... ��

On this day 20 years ago, Fela Anikulapo Kuti a Nigerian multi-instrumentalist, musician, composer, pioneer of the Afrobeat music genre, human rights activist, and political maverick died at the age of 58 from complications related to AIDS.

If the Nigerian legend were still alive, he would have clocked 79 on October 15, 2017 unfortunately that day will be the climax of the annual Felabration Music Festival held in his honour.

In his lifetime, Fela was known worldwide as a great musician and activist and years after his death, his Afrobeat sound continues to dictate and dominate th sound of music all over the world leaving his indelible footprint in the sands of time.

A journalist, Mustapha Abdulrahman, has recounted how he reunited with his sister after being separated almost 25-years ago.

He shared a photo of himself with his sister on her wedding day and wrote:

So, after 25 years of separation, I got to meet my younger sister (on her wedding day). We were separated as kids due certain circumstances, and we reunite as adults. I feel so happy and I have a feeling of having back a missing part of my body. #alhamdulillah #reunited #blood Thank God they are back together.

Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai has been appealed to by a widowed woman to order the release of her son that has been allegedly detained by the army command in Abia State.

A widow in Abia State, Mrs. Comfort Enyinna, has urged the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai, to order the release of her son, Arthur Enyinna, who was allegedly arrested by soldiers in Aba, on July 14 over an undisclosed offence.
Enyinna, who works with the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency, was said to have been arrested by soldiers attached to the Army unit at Asa Road, Aba, and his whereabouts remain unknown.
The widow, who spoke to journalist amidst tears, called on Buratai to order the release of her son, stressing that he is not a criminal.
She said,“I’m appealing to the Chief of Army Staff to order the release of my son wherever he is being held. He is not a criminal. He has been sick. He came and left for work the following day, only to be arrested.

“We have visited several Army units in Aba and they told us that he is not with them. I wonder who my son could have offended. I plead with the person to pardon him. He is not a criminal. We have also reported his arrest to his office at ASEPA, yet they have not been able to trace his whereabouts.”
When contacted, the Army Public Relations Officer, 14 Brigade, Ohafia, Abia State, Major Oyegoke Gbadamaosi, said Enyinna was not in the custody of the Army.
