Where I dey? I dey around, I know you'll be going for interview in the coming days. Congrats to the invitees, you did exceptionally well in the test especially. It's funny to expect I will come to enumerate what the interview will entail.

However, get yourself prepared on behavioural-based interview method and what you can bring to the table as a "your position". What makes you different from others, is it your training, design, soft skills, etc?

DDE and HSE candidates should expect a more rigorous interview because they are not going to undergo structured training like others but a crash induction. Also there are a few guys from "nowhere" that have joined the competition. So, be at your best!

The only situation that will warrant calling more people is that significant number of those invited didn't show up for the interview or do perform very poorly.
Best wishes!

Dats SolutionsGuy... We really appreciate dis... But Bros did u av idea of number of people Dat is likely to be absorb for each category? Thanks

Calm down guys. Anxiety will not draw nearer the next stage, neither will it push that further. You will see, you will know.

However, as expected marking is over, approx 200 scripts of mainly multiple choice wouldn't be tough task though. Candidates are being ranked based primarily but not only on test scores. There's a compilation ( don't know if brought to test venue) containing qualifications, bosiet, exp/affiliate, etc. These are weighted with weak bias such that for example Mr A could score 5 points higher than Mr B, but B might be ranked higher for having BOSIET/MSc (for HSE/DDE) or HND for operators/technicians. A couple of guys had PhD though. This method wasn't designed to fail anyone. This exercise was cut out to be highly organized and professionally conducted. Merit is the watchword.

Meanwhile, as indications of the indigenous company in question emerged, people who know people have besieged the company directors pushing for their candidates, even those who didn't take test. Hopefully this will not scuttle the process, at least to a significant level.

As soon as the parties involved conclude arrangements, highest ranking ones would be scheduled for interview/further examinations. Different days for different categories. Successful ones are expected to start Dec/Jan.

I am only privileged to access some information. I do not work for any of the companies and at the same time, I have limitation as to the specifics that I can reveal.

These are current standings and one woman/man can stand and turn around the scenarios at will. So they are not cast on stone.

Good luck everyone. People will be contacted just soon.

Bros any info on d invitation as some has started gotten invitation.... Is d invitation in batches according to categories? Or all successful candidates already invited? Tnx

Hehehe . . . No one is reporting. How far guys?

Well, I heard that there were approx 40 candidates that sat for each category and they were given EXAMS to write. Initial quick review of the papers shows that candidates performed extraordinarily poorly. Even though marking has not commenced in essence, a category like drilling engineering might not have up to 5 people cross 35%. Good luck guys.

Experience ke? What criteria did they actually use for shortlisting? I have a friend who has vast experience & international trainings/certifications in drilling that wasn't called but someone without experience was called for Production Operator role. Goodluck guys.

Well only God knows what dey used in selection for test... But I think d interview will be based on experience in d field since it's for experience position and not trainee... My thought dou

thanks for your reply maybe they also looked the grade you finished from school, I finished with lower credit but my friend that finished with upper credit is not invited.but what grade did you graduated with?

If u av oil and gas experience I don't think d grade will be matter anymore... Did u or Ur friend has oil and gas experience? I av second class upper(2:1) with over 4 years of oil and gas experience...

They invited my guy with MSc self (with oil and gas experience). The truth is that the competition gets stiffer by the day.

U see now... But I think dey will pay same salary for people(Operator /technicians) with OND... HND... B.Sc.

Yinbanjonic:

what I meant is that did they call OND student or only HND and BSC they called?

OK... I understand u now... Actually I can't say may be dey invited OND... But dey suppose na if d person has oil and gas experience since d required qualification is OND and HND.... Even BSc Dat is not d required qualification was invited... Like me I have B.sc and I was invited.

@talent1, I quite agree with you the recruitment is for experienced guys and not trainees, but what seems to confuse people more is the fact that they said successful applicants will undergo a one year vocational training, so if you are recruiting experienced people , why do you have to train them for one year and after that they will undergo OJT for another one year? Anyways they decide their terms and conditions, all we can hope for now is that we be among the shortlisted, thank you.

Any E and P company Dat recruited u will also give u adequate training no matter the number of years of experience u already get and the length of d training depend on the company policy... If d company policy is to train dere new employee(trainee or experience) for 2 yrs den u can't say Dat because u av experience den u can't do d training...E&P work is a very risky work Dat requires all d employees on d board to b well trained in dere field of specialization.... U think 1 yr training is too much for experience people who will run one of the largest FPSO in the world.... I'm telling it's neva much because I'm talking from experience because I'm working with one. U think company Dat decided to acquire experience people and still give dem one yr training don't know what dey are doing.... Dey know d nature of d job and wot it requires before dey decided to take experience people and still train dem for a year..so worry less about d duration of d training

Well I think people with direct Exploration and Production experience in the area dey applied for can still do better in d test... And for me dats d type of test dey suppose to do as it is for experience position and not trainee. So from my perspective... I will conclude Dat d firm Dat conducted d test was very right for setting Dat type of question since it is experience position and not trainee. My thought dou
