I always see articles like this...hell, I've been seeing them for decades. Nigerian comes home, and either pays the supreme price or gets so discouraged that they have to go back to where they came from, and so forth.

But at the end, we don't want to face the problem that brought us here.

We will say 'Nigeria happened to her', we will scream it, yet we won't accept the following facts.

1.Our police is underfunded. Imagine, police budget is one tenth of what the NYPD in the US spend to police 25 million people....we use am police 230 million people. And we somehow expect them to respond like the police in saner climes, and expect them to keep us safe like they do in the UK?

UK police budget...28 billion pounds. (increased)

No wonder she felt safe in the UK.

2.Our electricty is poorly funded, because for decades we have refused to pay the market price for power...and even now less than 20% of consumers pay market price for power. And you expect 24/7 power from just 5000 mw, on a good day, for 230 million people

So, how are we going to prpvide enough power for millions, and by extension jobs that will keep people from criminality.


3. And we keep voting in the same type of leader. Yes...tinubu, buhari, and gej, and even obasanjo are all the same. When we tell you to choose someone else, you start weeping about 'who else we go vote for' Okay.


We have to make sure every nigerian is paying taxes, we got to stop people not paying for power , we have to develop an economy based on industries, not oil money, and we have to fight corruption.

CORRUPTION Is a problem. Yes, I have said it, many times on this site. It is making a bad situation worse. But while we must end corruption...we got to realize that it is not going to increase the budgets of the police, not going to make power profits go up, and so forth. It's not going to make our education budget go up, and it may attract some investors, until they see how we keep them from making profit in the name of subsidy.

Corruption is not going to change the fact that our budget of 15 bn pounds sterling is less than what the UK uses...28 billion pounds...to police a populaiton of 80 million people.

Yes, we are so poor that we can roust up a budget of 15 billion pounds...a national budget , that is half of the uk 28 billion pounds.

Nigeria's problem is the same problem the USSR had in the 1980's...high dependence on oil, and importation of useless consumer products. And a failure of the tinubu government to urgently realize that they need to make more money. And spening on palliatives that provide no jobs or susatainable economic growth. Yes, and a refusal to fight corruption

But the government supporters and oppositon on this site are not interested in such talk, they are only interested in beating each other on the head with corruption allegations so that their side can take power, and once their side is in power, they will shut up about corruption.

Yes, and saying the above means I am a tinubu agbero and obidient liar at the same time
