soe: But this is a man who was part of the outgoing administration for goodness sake as deputy governor. How can he be accusing the outgoing governor ?
Secondly...the governor single handedly chose him as candidate despite all odds and yet this is how to repay him?
Let the deputy turned governor remember that kwankwasiya is a movement....fight him at your own peril...learn from the humility of the past ...half a word is enough.
Kwankwaso is loved by his people home n abroad for the quality of infrastructure he is leaving behind..not the money in the coffers. Money is meant to be spent for the good of the people so he shouldn't say the glaring truth because of political affiliation abi ? Ye hypocrite your mumu dey smell |

By Levinus Nwabughiogu ABUJA – Bid to garner massive endorsement of Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila’s candidacy for the Speakership of the House of Representatives using the 2015 retreat of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Abuja failed woefully yesterday. Vanguard gathered that many new members who came for the retreat kicked against the endorsement. Consequently, it was learnt that they were asked to vacate their rooms in the hotel they were lodged for the event immediately the Programme ended. The bills for the hotel rooms, Vanguard learnt were footed by an influential chieftain of the party from the south west. According to a source, the plan was to replicate the event of last Saturday at the APC Senators-elect in Abuja where Senators Ahmed Lawan and George Akume were endorsed for senate president and deputy respectively. A member-elect of the House from Bauchi state Hon. Halliru D. Jika (Darazo/Ganjuwa Federal Constituency) told journalists that he came to Abuja from Bauchi for the retreat and was billed to return home on Wednesday (today), but was shocked when he was asked by the hotel management to vacate his room. “I am shocked that after the retreat ended by 6pm, i went back to my room only to be told to vacate,” Jika said.. Jika, a former speaker of Bauchi state House of Assembly said surprised that that kind of treatment was meted out to them. “They lodged us without even complimentary breakfast and members are stranded now. What have we done to warrant this from our party leaders?”, he queried Earlier in the morning just before the retreat got underway, a hitherto contender of the house speakership, Hon. Mohammed Mongonu held a press conference in the Amaechi Hall of Rock View Hotel( Royal), venue of the retreat where he announced his withdrawal from the race for Gbajabiamaila. He however declared interest in the deputy speakership, saying he was running on a joint ticket with Gbajabiamila. Members who were at the conference left the room with cap souvenirs which canvassed support for Gbajabiamila. But they were immediately asked to remove them when they got into the main hall where the retreat was holding. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/05/apc-retreat-plot-to-endorse-gbajabiamila-as-reps-speakership-failed/ |

Did the fellow citizens tell you they don't have their own legs to stand ? In one breath some of you will be clapping hands for a governor commissioning street lights while at the same time attacking a governor who's commissioning a hospital just because of party differences. The moment Akpabio decamps to APC you hypocrites will sing a different tune only comparable to Michael Jackson. Yeye dey stank |

Jewelbaby01: I have been reading for a while now without commenting, I wanted to make sure I read all the comments to the last page. I have done same with the previous posts and updates. I must say am overwhelmed. I'll just overlook all those critics who have said one foolish thing or the other about the progress of Akwaibom state and its outgoing governor, I'll just assume they are ignorant or have never in their lives visited the great 'Akwa-Abasi Ibom State' I have watched this state grow, I am a bonafide citizen of this great state by birth, not by naturalization or registration, I have been in this state when it was nothing, when no one heard or knew anything about it, when we were referred to as 'minority'. That time when someone would ask which state u hailed from and when you mention Akwa-Ibom, they'll be like 'what state is that?' When everybody always called or referred to us as the calabars. Oh! Those awkward moments when people treated us like commoners or dirt bags because we hailed from a minority state. Now that time is gone, its a new era. Am sorry, but permit me to refer to these haters as 'elements' it is said that 'only he who wears the shoes knows where it pinches or hurts' governor Akpabio has washed the shame off our faces, now everyone wants to identify with Akwaibom the state they once treated as minority. I recall one disgruntled element mentioning or rather asking if we have good roads, well we do, I live in Akwaibom state, even the remote villages all have tared roads and pipe borne water as well as constant power supply. My humble advice to all you haters is, just take a trip to Akwaibom state, make a tour round all the villages, after then, you can run your mouths all you want. Someone mentioned also that there ain't no hospitals but one. My dad is a medical doctor, he actually is a consultant in one of the many hospitals built by Akpabio, though its located in a village, but the hospital is heaven on earth. Akpabio is a man of style, he's got class, he's one in a million governor, no one can take that from him. He deserves the commendations, why not just give it to him and stop the hate, no one is perfect, he has his shortcomings, everyone does, but when the good superceeds the bad, then its good. There's no perfect governor, several are good, buut Akpabio stands out. The kind of transformation or change that Akwaibom has undergone is the kind we need in all the states in this country Nigeria, but how many governors are ready to do what he's done? Forget the huge amount of budget or allocation, he could have decided to pocket all of it like his predecessors, but he decided to use it for something that's gonna benefit me and you, am sure in future we'll all look back and say, welldone Akpabio! I could go on and on, but I gotta go now. When I first started college, I thought of flying out to practice after school, but there won't be any need for that because my state is fast becoming a mini london thank you very much, may God bless you. I have come to the conclusion that its only those who have absolutely no idea where Akwa Ibom state is, who have never travelled out of their locale that have been bashing Akpabio for "non performance" which is what any governor in Nigeria would be slammed with as long as he/she is not an APC member. Their hatred and myopic sťupidity is corrosive and toxic hence they should be avoided by all means. |

Phones › The Real Story Behind Androids' Little Green Robot Mascot by talktimi(op): 4:54pm On May 14, 2015 |
When Irina Blok came up with the idea to create a simple green robot to symbolize what was one of Google's newest projects at the time, she had no idea it would become so iconic. Today, the little green robot that Google uses as the mascot for Android may be one of the most widely recognizeable logos in the tech industry. But Blok, a former designer at Google that now works as the creative director for shopping startup Curbside, said the logo wasn't really designed to attract widespread attention. The little green robot was initially aimed at developers — the intended audience for Android before it became such a big consumer product. "It was more about how do you take the Android and make it human," Blok said in an interview with Business Insider. "Like, what is the simplest way an Android can be designed?" A report from The New York Times in 2013 cited Blok as saying that she drew inspiration from the universally recognizeable symbols found on men and women's bathrooms. Blok, however, told Business Insider this wasn't true. "It was just about creating something that everybody could relate to and something that developers in particular liked," she said. android robot mascotFlickr/Rob Bulmahn Perhaps the most interesting tidbit about how the Android robot came to be is the fact that no one at Google really knew about it. Blok didn't present the Android logo to anyone at Google — she just created it independently and open sourced it. It didn't take long, however, for the developers who worked at Google to catch on. Developers then quickly began creating their own versions of Blok's small green character. "It just became this viral movement on its own," Blok said. "The next thing I knew, there were all kinds of robots. There was one that was a little kitty, there was one that looked like Sarah Palin. They were like multiplying everywhere." AndroidFlickr/etnyk A person that used to work at Google in Android's early days offered a similar description of how Android came to be. This person, who worked closely with Android inventor Andy Rubin, said the logo just started to appear everywhere as the team was developing the first version of Android. This is what made Google such a fun place to work, says Blok — you had the freedom to create whatever you wanted, as long as you finished your assignments. "You’re just kind of making stuff," she said. "And you don’t really realize how cool it is it until years have passed." http://www.businessinsider.com/where-the-green-android-robot-came-from-2015-5
