By Abiodun Alade, @biodunpen The Special Assistant to President Goodluck Jonathan on New Media, Reno Omokri, has berated the governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola for allegedly budgeting a whopping 18.6 billion for the running of his office while workers in the state are yet to be paid salary since October 2014. It will be recalled that in January, during the budget defense at the State House of Assembly, Mr Gboyega Oyetola, the Chief of Staff to Governor Aregbesola, disclosed that the budget for the Governor’s Office for 2015 is N18,645,514,610. reno-omokriAccording to Oyetola, N1,159,000,000 is expected to be expended on salaries, allowances and other remuneration of career officers and political office holders in the Office of the Governor. The sum of N3,775,000,000 is expected to be spent on general administration of bureaus and agencies in the Office of the Governor, as part of overhead costs. The payment of salaries to the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Judges, the State Independent Electoral Commission and others would gulp N2billion. On Tuesday, civil servants in Osun State staged a protest against the alleged non-payment of five months salaries by the state government. The workers, led by the Chairman of the Trade Union Congress in the state, Mr. Olatunji Akinyemi, marched through the Osogbo/Gbongan road, chanting anti-government songs. RenoOsunThe workers said that apart from the failure of the Governor Rauf Aregbesola -led administration to pay them the outstanding salaries, the same government had refused to remit pension deducted from their previous salaries to their various retirement savings accounts. They claimed that the governor was busy spending the state’s resources on campaigns of the All Progressives Congress and left workers to suffer untold hardship Omokri, took to his Twitter page, on Wednesday, to question the manner of change been promoted by the All Progressives Congress, APC, if one of its governors cannot pay workers’ salaries, describing it as a foretaste of the change APC promises “Imagine the reaction if a PDP Gov budgets 18.6 Billion for his office yet cant to pay workers #whatmannerofchange? ” he posted on his twitter page. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/omokri-berates-aregbesola-you-budget-18-6-billion-for-your-office-yet-cant-pay-workers-for-5-months/

Tinubu should replace papa Ajasco ASAP ![]() |
Arrant nonsense. Why didn't you say how much the cancellation of that contract cost the government or how privatization of the metro lines would have ensured the maintenance of the facilities. Stop calling Nigerians fools here and face realty, you're a true definition of the phrase enemy of progress |
Number 2 is a good enough reason ![]() |
Unseen:pls advice. Is it wise to download apps outside the store eg from ucbrowser. That is, are there any downsides we should be aware of ? |
reborn1:Irrelevant post |
reborn1:truth is bitter abi ? But it will set you free |
I don't know why you people keep muddling things up. There's a difference between a hate documentary and a factual exposé except you're trying to say for example "Lagos residents are not supposed to know how Tinubu is ripping them off behind the scenes" or "younger generations of Nigerians shouldn't know about Buhari's antecedents". That's total hogwash coming from the APC and need I remind you guys that this is a democracy. Thank |
Pls try scratching out/editing his phone number |
delishpot:yes.... |
Why did mrs Gej take that silly photograph in the first place sef ? |
Emeka71:have you tried contacting their customer care ? But dem try for you o |
Seems people don't know the implications of this pledge by boko haram. Na now the war wan start but God pass them |
Feraz:I get my BBM alerts as soon as messages are posted. I don't know what you guys are talking about |
chymystique:good observation, by the way PYO seems to be campaigning more than the principal contestant Buhari |
The very Koko is WhatsApp calls for me |
Feraz:I enjoy my phone (520) it has ALL the relevant apps and serves me very well. The problem I've noticed most people having with the windows phone platform is that they allow too many people access into determining their choices especially guys who're into "pimping" of phones. Those guys will never EVER advice you to choose windows over android because it spoils market for them. With a windows phone, you download what you actually need by yourself from the app store instead of getting a corrupted file + plenty virus from a guy man somewhere at computer village |
DaBullIT:no Nigerian man would risk his chances of getting into Canada if its only a phone password that was the obstacle |
Buhari should stop calling Nigerians mugu, enough is enough with this his oluwole mentality of scamming the average Nigerian man. Please show us your friends lets know how serious you are about fighting corruption |
I suspect Amaechi is the gay dude being talked about and yes he is the one who ran away with his oga's house girl and later married her |
By Luka Binniyat and Levinus Nwabughiogu A clear example of "STORY FOR THE gods" KADUNA – Vice Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Professor Yemi Osinbajo on Wednesday in Kaduna said that the presidential candidate of the party, General Mohammadu would draw a line between his relationship with party members and governance when elected president. He spoke against the impressions in some quarters that most of the members of APC who share affinity with Buhari were also corrupt. Osinbajo who presided over a town hall meeting between the APC leaders and religious leaders in the north west zone of the country on behalf of his principal in Kaduna state capital also cleared the air on Buhari’s tenure, assuring he will “by the grace of God run two terms in office”. BUHARI'S RUNNING MATE—APC Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari presenting his running mate Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, in Abuja. BUHARI’S RUNNING MATE—APC Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari presenting his running mate Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, in Abuja. The response essentially followed questions from the members of audience who were a mix of Muslim and Christain clerics on whether Buhari had actually pledged to do just one term should he win. He said: “On the various issue of corruption, what General Buhari has said categorically is that as far as he is concerned, the day he is sworn-in as president, he would have drawn a line. Anybody who runs foul of the law, anything that is been investigated before will continue as it is. “If you are found to be corrupt, you will receive the consequence, no matter who you are. Whether you are his brother, sister, his friends there will be consequences. That is what he has said and I think that is in line with the position of the party.” “He is just to straight forward to do that. You know he can never do that. There is no way is going to sign any agreement, so let us be very clear. I don’t even need to ask him that. Buhari will never be part of any under hand deal. I know him well enough that he will never sign anything of such. The man is healthy and strong and by the grace of God, he will run two terms in office”, he said. Asked to clarify his widely rumored agreement with the national elder of the APC, Mr. Ahmed Bola Tinubu to resign from office after 6 months, Osinbajo said that such speculation only domiciled in the imaginations of the peddlers. “Do not take any of these things seriously at all. By God’s grace, we will win election and you will observe for yourself”, he said. On the controversy trailing use of card reader, Osibanjo said that the position of the party was the same as the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC which has said that there was no going back on the use of the card reader. He faulted the ruling People’s Democratic Party, PDP for being unnecessary paranoia. He said: “The PDP that is in the past was happy to use the card reader is no longer prepared to use the card reader and we insist that it must be used. That is all. And if you look in the Newspapers, you will see all kind of advertisements condemning Professor Jega who they all loved initially. But when it now appears that we the APC will win the election, they are now afraid.” “It is bad and horrible that even some of our documentaries which just point out the failings of government are not allowed by the regulatory body. We are not even attacking any personality the way they are doing, but the regulatory body refuses to accept them, so we have a play field that is not level. ” I think because the regulatory bodies are controlled by the federal government, we are not even given fear hearing. Earlier in his welcome address, Governorship candidate of APC in Kaduna state, Mallam Nasir El-rufai, hinted that the essence of the town hall meeting was to interact with the religious leaders in the North-west geopolitical zone. He expressed optimism that with the massive support and interest Nigerians have shown in the APC, the party was sure of winning the elections. Expressing their views while asking questions, some religious leaders who spoke at the event tasked the politicians on peaceful election. “Why can’t we leave in peace? Both muslim and Christian are one? Whatever a Christian woman has, a Muslim woman also has, likewise men. So, I am appealing to everyone in this country to embrace peace to the extend that America and other countries will come and copy from us.” One of the pastors said. Some APC leaders who graced the occasion were the APC national chariman chief John Oyegun, Deputy Chairman (North) Shuibu, party governorship candidates in Kaduna, Bauchi and Kebbi among others. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/buhari-ll-not-spare-corrupt-apc-members-osibanjo/ |

GboyegaD:at most border posts especially airports, you are required to have your phones/laptops charged enough to power on for inspection (due to terrorists threats) it could be a remote trigger or packed with explosives |
Amaechi has been "empowering" cult boys during the run up to this elections which has led to a battle of supremacy amongst the groups leading to the incessant killings that is being witnessed now in Rivers state. Diobu to town is a no go area for the uninitiated or strange faces especially from evening period so Lie Mohammed should focus on what he knows about instead of ranting like a he goat on heat. Amaechi owns the killer squad in Rivers state |
A Canadian, Alain Philippon, was detained at Halifax Stanfield International Airport when he refused to unlock his BlackBerry smartphone at the request of the Canada Border Services Agency officials. He was also charged with hindering or preventing border officers from performing their role under the Customs Act. Alain is reported to have said that he refused to unlock his BlackBerry because he considers the information on it to be “personal.” He was released on bail and will stand trial at a later date. This is an interesting development and could set a precedent for future situations. http://mobilityarena.com/man-detained-at-canadian-port-for-not-unlocking-his-blackberry/ |
MTN Nigeria last week announced an update to their Tru Talk plan. The plan originally offers call rates of 20kobo/sec to all networks but the new plan now offers some thing similar to the previously phased out Family and Friends. You can now add 11 numbers (8 MTN numbers and 3 from other networks) , and talk with them for as low as 11kobo/sec. MTN Nigeria Migrate to MTN Tru Talk by dialling *400# . Add new numbers to your list by dialling *560*1 *the number you want to register#, To remove numbers from your list dial *560*2 *the number you want to remove#, To check the numbers on your list, dial *560#. In other news we missed last week, WhatsApp is set to introduce a VOIP calling feature similar to what we already have on BBM, Viber, Facebook and other IM apps. They’re reportedly still testing out the new feature and one can only get invited if you’re able to successfully receive a call from someone. This is really huge because WhatsApp already has a robust, widespread user base, let’s hope and pray the feature becomes mainstream in the nearest future. WhatsAppThere’s also talk that WhatsApp is still aggressively awarding longer bans to people still using 3rd party Whatsapp clients like WhatsApp+, OGWhatsApp, etc. So to avoid stories that touch, respect yourself ,uninstall it and use the official WhatsApp client. Last week, HTC launched a new flagship device, the HTC One M9, the release just looks plain boring, nothing breathtaking, just a few hardware upgrades. Critics have yabbed them ( Oga Mr. Mo called it a lazy design job) and I totally agree with them. HTC One M9 official It appears they heard the noise and are gearing up for a successor that will be called HTC One M9 Plus . Rumors loom this one will be bigger, and will come with a fingerprint scanner, at least that’s something worth drolling for. That’s all the news we missed last week. Cheers. http://mobilityarena.com/mtn-announces-cheaper-call-rates-whatsapp-is-testing-calling-feature-and-more-stories-you-missed-last-week/ |
