His current collection includes a Nokia Lumia 1520, Apple iPhone 6 Plus, BlackBerry Passport, Sony Xperia Z3, Microsoft Surface Pro 3, and many more. His verdict on the Passport: I like the iPhone 6 Plus and my Android phones, but the BlackBerry Passport gets things done more efficiently and is a joy to use. (Source) SuperSanusi is one of Nigeria’s leading tech bloggers. His present smartphone collection includes the Passport and HTC One M8, and he thinks too that the BlackBerry Passport is king of the pack: @supersanusi:The Passport may not be cool...but it's the best smartphone out there right now. My opinion. Mariesio:this is not a dìck size competition, I'm using a Lumia 520 and i have ALL the apps I need. Is android a bad platform ? Definitely not but i think its wack when android users tell those interested in other platforms to avoid them. I said earlier on this topic that its mostly those who "love-vendor" phones that discourage buyers from windows products because it reduces business for them since the phone user invariably ends up doing everything by himself without paid help. Lets stop the backbiting, android isn't shìt and windows isn't shìt either |
henryskywalker2003:anybody who tells you to stick with android doesn't have any REAL reason why they told you to do so. Don't start that "more apps" nonsense, they have NOTHING to say. Trust me, I've used all smartphone platforms and for me its blackberry + windows |

By Samuel Oyadongha, Yenagoa The Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson has denied the claim by some ex-militant leaders in the state of hijacking the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) crude oil pipeline surveillance contract for oil bearing communities in the state. He said though the state government had established a firm, Izon-Ibe Security Company, to supervise the implementation of the terms of the surveillance contract among the benefiting communities, the reason for setting up the outfit was part of efforts to address the challenges of youth unemployment in the state. A Government House statement issued in Yenagoa and signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Daniel Iworio-Markson, said the security outfit was basically set up to provide special training for youths and engage them for the purposes of security services According to the statement, “the Izon-Ibe Security firm is a limited liability company that is a community-based security and empowerment scheme for Bayelsa youths across the communities with the active involvement of the chiefs and leaders to train youths in the surveillance of pipeline and guard duties.” The management of the Izon-Ibe Security Company, which has Chief Joshua Fumudoh as Chairman and Chief James Jephthah as Managing Director, with a representative of the Ijaw Youth Council, (IYC) among others on its board is expected to take steps to engage youths to go for the necessary training for job placements in the company. It stated that, the government’s attention has been drawn to some ex-militant leaders, whose activities constitute a breach of the existing peace, noting that, hitherto, they were beneficiaries of pipeline contracts which they failed to execute. The statement expressed displeasure that, such ex-militants were being used by those it described as misguided politicians to embark on senseless public demonstrations within and outside the state capital. “Sadly, these ex-militants, who have mismanaged the Amnesty programme to short change their followers, are again planning to use the innocent youths to play out the script of their sponsors to malign the state government and destabilize the state for their selfish financial interest. “In addition to the Amnesty programme, which they control exclusively, these ex-militant leaders also have a share of the pipeline surveillance contract, but they are fighting to be the only ones to carry out this function throughout the state. They have no capacity to do this and it doesn’t make sense because there are so many youths and chiefs in the state that can also be involved in their communities for accountability. “The position of the government is that, pipeline surveillance contracts are not for ex-militant leaders alone, most of whom hail from a particular local government area. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/dickson-denies-hijack-of-nnpcs-oil-pipeline-surveillance-contract/ |
The Vatican’s ambassador to the United Nations has endorsed military action against the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria — an unusual move because the Vatican traditionally has opposed force in the region. In an interview with the US Catholic website Crux, Archbishop Silvano Tomasi said IS fighters were committing atrocities on a huge scale and the world needed to intervene. “We have to stop this kind of genocide,” the Italian archbishop told Crux. “Otherwise we’ll be crying out in the future about why we didn’t do something, why we allowed such a terrible tragedy to happen.” Tomasi said a coordinated and “well-thought-out coalition” was needed to do everything possible to achieve a political settlement without violence. “But if that’s not possible, then the use of force will be necessary,” he added. Pope Francis has denounced the “intolerable brutality” being inflicted on Christians and other minorities in Iraq and Syria by IS group militants. Last month, IS kidnapped 220 Assyrians in the Tal Tamr area of Syria where the extremist Islamist group has seized control of 10 Christian villages, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. And the pope expressed his dismay after the group’s Libyan branch released a video showing the gruesome beheading of 21 mostly Egyptian Coptic Christians. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/vatican-backs-force-to-stop-is-genocide/ |

Saraki didn't thief money, he only took it for safe keeping ![]() |
By Soni Daniel, Regional Editor, North Indications emerged, yesterday, that the Office of the Attorney General of the Federation and that of the Inspector General of Police might have disagreed on what to do with former Kwara Governor, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on his alleged use of fronts to withdraw the sum of N6 billion from the accounts of a company, Joy Petroleum, domiciled in Intercontinental Bank, now Access. Initially, the Office of the IG had approached a Federal High Court in Abuja on April 26, 2012 to press charges against the former governor for conspiracy, forgery and stealing after claiming to have initiated a comprehensive investigation into a petition sent to it by Joy Petroleum that it was being denied access by the bank following the illegal change of signatory to the account by unknown persons. Sen. Saraki Sen. Saraki But in a legal advice to the IG on the move to prosecute Saraki and others named by the petitioner, the Attorney General advised against taking any action against Saraki and his aides over the bank issue, since from the records available to his office, the former governor had not committed any offence to warrant such trial. In the legal document, which Vanguard sighted last night, dated 9thOctober 2012, with reference Number DPP/ADV: 061/12, and signed by the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, Mrs. O.O. Fatunde, the AGF Office, noted that it would be improper to hold Saraki liable for the internal actions of the then Intercontinental Bank. The AGF Office said: “It would therefore be improper and unjust in the circumstance to hold Dr. Saraki , Mr. Pinheiro or indeed the companies criminally liable for the internal actions and decisions of the bank and its officials bordering on exercise of discretion. “Every customer of a bank (corporate or individual) has the right to apply for a loan on the most favourable terms possible. This alone does not constitute any offence under any law because it is within the discretion of the bank to grant or refuse such loan application. “Dr. Saraki and Pinheiro are alleged to be connected with the grant of the loans as promoter and director respectively of the companies. By virtue of Section 18 of the Act, a director or any other partner or officer of a company can only be held responsible in that capacity for the actions of the company if the company is guilty of an offence under the Act. “Since the company in this case cannot be held to have committed any offence under Section 15( 1) (a), it follows that Dr. Saraki and Mr. Pinheiro cannot also be held criminally responsible only on account of having acted as promoter and director of the companies in connection with the said loan,” the DPP advised. However in a new twist that is likely to upturn the whole investigation and pave the way for the prosecution of the former governor, the Attorney General has written a different letter to the IG to hand over the case file to him for further action. In the new letter, which Vanguard obtained last night, the AGF in insisting that his office needed to carry out further review of the case file before any further action is taken on the matter. In a memo with reference No. DPP/ADV: 061/12/91 and addressed to the Inspector General of Police with particular attention to the Commissioner of Police Special Fraud Unit, and signed by Haruna Isa Alabi, Deputy Director of Public Prosecution, the AGF said his office wanted the case file to be able to ascertain whether the evidence presented against Saraki and others was borne out of mere suspicion or was capable of sustaining a conviction before trial. Saraki has said that there was no infraction of any law in the matter, which his companies obtained loans and paid back to the banks through agreed terms of settlement. But the former IG, Mohammed Abubakar, who initiated the trial of Saraki, had alleged among other things that the former governor made the bank to lose funds by using his fronts while serving as governor to engage in money laundering. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/03/fg-orders-ig-to-hand-over-saraki-money-laundering-case-file/
