A DAY after President Goodluck Jonathan’s birthday was lavishly celebrated by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the Presidency confirmed yesterday that he suddenly took ill and had to undergo a checkup in a hospital in the United Kingdom (UK). Jonathan, who was not present at the celebration, left Nigeria on Wednesday morning for London as the head of the Federal Government’s delegation to a meeting of Honorary International Investors’ Council (HIIC) being co-ordinated by the one-time British Minister of Foreign Office, Baroness Lynda Chalker. The latest news ASUU Strike news update is the outcome of ASUU NEC Meeting held on Friday, which is one thing Nigerian students have been waiting for. This might lead to the end of the more than 4-month-old strike. Since ASUU National Executive Committee met in Kano, there have been speculations on what the outcome of the meeting could possibly be. A source even claimed ASUU NEC voted to call off the strike but will have to inform President Goodluck Jonathan of their decision.
