As an applicant, sending multiple applications online is no news. We send several cover letters and CVs patiently anticipating response from the employer. Applicants check both inbox and spam vehemently. As a job seeker how often do you check your mails intensely waiting for employer's response? |

Starting Tuesday, the microblogging site is replacing the star-shaped “favorite” button with a heart-shaped “like” button. The new “like” feature will be available first on Twitter’s iOS and Android mobile apps, website, TweetDeck, Tweets around the Web and on Vine’s Android app and website. The heart-shaped button will roll out on Vine for iOS and Twitter for Mac soon, the company said. The move mimics Facebook FB -0.98%, which has for years allowed users to “like” photos, comments and posts. And earlier this month, Facebook rolled out “emoji reactions,” including a heart symbol, to make it easier for users to quickly express more specific emotions. The new feature also reflects one of many changes that early investor and billionaire venture capitalist Chris Sacca recommended to the social network in a lengthy essay this summer about how Twitter should grow its audience. Sacca noted in his essay that ‘favorite’ was too strong a word for a reaction button. He said including a heart gesture in tweets would create positive feedback that would encourage more frequent posting and visits to the site. “We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers,” Twitter product manager Akarshan Kumar said in a blog post. “You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite.” Kumar said the heart was chosen for its broad appeal and meaning. source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/kathleenchaykowski/2015/11/03/twitter-makes-hearts-the-new-like-button-drops-favorite/

In recent decades science and technology have developed rapidly in China. The Chinese government has placed emphasis through funding, reform, and societal status on science and technology as a fundamental part of the socio-economic development of the country as well as for national prestige. China has made rapid advances in areas such as education, infrastructure, high-tech manufacturing, academic publishing, patents, and commercial applications and is now in some areas and by some measures a world leader. China is now increasingly targeting indigenous innovation and aims to reform remaining weaknesses.[Wikipedia] MY POINT: Despite the hardship and challenges been faced by Nigeria's youth, The Urge to innovate is on the top gear. The pictures below give an insight of how the youth can place Nigeria where it belong on the world map, also regain it lost glory as the giant of Africa. The question remains why has government fail to invest this sector? Why do Dr Abalaka's HIV vaccine became an illusion? Why do BH as you can see below decided to Use the technological orientations negatively against it own government? If china can look inward and invest in high tech manufacturing why cant Nigeria do the same? Why are aba products referred to as "fake"? If China can take advantage of it population, Nig. Can also do the same.

Fighting corruption, suppression of insurgence, infrastructure development, good governance, credible election and the watchword "change" will be an illusion until poverty rate is drastically reduced to the reasonable level. APC, PDP, CPC, HIV, SSS, DPO among other are not Nigeria's problem. |
