The turn of event at national assembly today is greatly the fault of Mr President. You cannot have a divided house and stay aloof, it will crumble.
It is bad for him as a party man but a welcome development for us Nigerians. It appears to me that there is no opposition in this present NA, the politicking will be very much interesting.

seunfly: Who is tribal here? Ambode or Agbaje?
Can you allow such madness in your place? Chris Ingige lost senate presidency position not because he incited Yoruba against Igbo or he embarrassed any eze or he claimed anambra for Yoruba, but because he belongs to a party they did not believed in. What would have happened to him if he does what Agbaje did. The same Ingige incedence is happening to rochas.
I think Yorubas has tried enough for non_Yorubas in their land, they voted for Igbo federal house of rep, choose igbos as commissioners in strategic position and paid school fees, medical bills and so many things we don't even know. Yet you turn against the same people because of jonathan's loss.
In Osun, Akwa ibom woman won house of rep not because she a Yoruba woman, same thing with Igbo man made commissioner in kwara state during Muhammed lawal's term not because they are more than 10% but they are humbly part and parcel of the society, people appreciates their contribution and love them. But if they want to force them self on them and flex mustle in their own land who will tolerate that nonsense. Such attitude causes self awareness and reaccessment for a care free society and it breeds hostility. Seen need Lati fi 1,000,000 like button si ori NL yi mehn... Chiaka: If Nigeria should divide depending on how it happens and where people fall in sure adjustment are always made with a major change. The might not even be called Biafra or Odua State might be something else, different circumstance requires different approach. If any such thing should happen I don't even think the name will be Biafra or may even happen the way you thinking. People are bound to move and sometimes some people remain, its left for people to descide. Germany ones got divided and so are many countries and people make descision and move depending , The state of Isreal was recreated and some people moved and others remain where ever. I will rather encourage to imbibe more positive thoughts than all this tribal issues. I see them as set back in life. I don't live in Lagos and down here we got lots of Yoruba people also living with us. No need to argue further, your statement in here has said it all, No land is a 'No Man's Land' |
Politics › Re: Lagos Is A Yoruba Land And Not A No Man's Land by tblacker(op): 12:57pm On Apr 09, 2015 |
Chiaka: Sure tomorrow if government makes say Anambra or even Akwa-Ibom a federal capital and put in huge investment like it did in Lagos/Abuja lots of people will flock into those areas, then it also becomes a no mans land. Its goes back to our earlier discussion. This is why Lagos/Abuja are no mans land. Afterall other western states like Ogun, Oyo, Osun etc are not called 'No mans land' this is the hard reality. Let me ask you a simple question : If for any reason that Biafra idea you guys are so passionate about is actually granted, will you carry Lagos with you or will you reject Biafra because you are in a 'No Mans Land' ? |
Politics › Re: Lagos Is A Yoruba Land And Not A No Man's Land by tblacker(op): 8:11pm On Apr 08, 2015 |
hedonistic: The fact that a place is a federal capital means that the ENTIRE country's wealth pours into that place - creating massive development and tremendous economic opportunities that inevitably attract citizens of the country. This creates unfair advantage to that area and sort of neutralises any tribal or clannish pretensions to such a place. If the Yoruba people had exclusively used their own resources to develop Lagos into what it is today, ehen, you can make mouth. It's therefore unfair for the so-called indigenes or 'dwellers' of that place to claim ownership of the place and threaten to eject others and what not.
Why not claim your oshogbo or Ado-Ekiti? Why are you all parasites latching onto Lagos? It's just ridiculous. Someone more reasonable would argue that you should leave that question for Lagos indigen to ask and not a total outsider like you, besides they speak the same language. And for developing this developing that, it is a give and take game, you develop my land I do good business and you generate more revenue from my land. There is almost no state that can compete with Lagos in term of revenue generation to the federal gvt account and which the money is in turn used for developmental project in other States. So spare me the south south oil money issh. |
Politics › Re: Lagos Is A Yoruba Land And Not A No Man's Land by tblacker(op): 7:09pm On Apr 08, 2015 |
hedonistic: Lagos was Nigeria's Federal Capital since the 1960s until 1991,doning the period of unprecedented wealth, oil boom, etc. Do you know what that means? Some of you are so daft. All the massive oil money (belonging to the south South) used to develop Lagos, na Yoruba get am?
The same influx of people that happened in Lagos in currently happening in Abuja. The seat of government always attracts people. Tomorrow now, some Abokki elements would come out and claim Abuja as their land.
The most annoying part is the wretched Oyo , Osun, Ekiti etc. Indigenes would also join mouth to claim Lagos. Forgetting that they had very little input in making Lagos what it is today. Lazy things. Like seriously, the fact that Abuja is now a capital city has make it a no man's land. Abuja is a northern state geographically whether you like it or not so hear it loudly, it is Aboki's land. Big smiles, you dont call people that stay put on their soil and is very proud of their place and doing everything to ensure that place is great a lazy people, common man, that is illogical. |

Imagine Ifeanyi Uba that they are carrying his coffin right now at Ihiahala saying Igbo must produce the next deputy governor in Lagos, Imagine JK who is preaching one Nigeria with one corner of his mouth is using the other side to promote chaos by emitting the worst statement I ever heard a citizen of any state emitted that he will elevate the position of Eze-ndigbo to be equal to OBA of Lagos state. I have moved around different states in this country and I am yet to see any quarter of Nigeria aside from Lagos being called No mans Land; not Onitsha, not Rivers, not Akwa-ibom not populous Kano and No not even Abuja the capital city.
My call today is simple, EVERY YORUBA MAN SHOULD PROMPTLY REJECT AND CORRECT anybody who ignoranty says LAGOS is a No Man's Land. |
