Sports / Chelsea Will Win The Champions League -prophet T. B. Joshua by Tchitntdu(m): 9:51am On May 04, 2012 |
According to sources, renowned prophet and servant of God, Temitope Balogun Joshua popularly known as Prophet TB Joshua, who is the founder and leader of Synagogue of All Nations church, has prophesied that English Giants Chelsea will lift this year’s UEFA Champions league trophy. According to the report, the prophet who is also into football administration and currently manages Lazio’s young duo of Edmund Ogenyi Onazi and Sani Emmanuel, prophesied after the sacking of Portuguese Manager Andre Villas-Boas that Chelsea will play in the finals and if John Terry does not play the final, Chelsea will win it because there is a bad luck hanging on the head of the skipper – which is presumably from his affair with the wife of Wayne Bridge. Prophet Temitope Balogun Joshua is not new to such prophesies as he prophesized Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2012 Gabon/ Equatorial Guinea African Cup of Nations, Zambia’s triumph in the 2012 AFCON, Asamoah Gyan’s last minute penalty miss during the 2010 World Cup and a host of others. Chelsea’s run to the Champions league final has been a miracle, particularly in the semi finals against Barcelona, where the Catalans hit the post 6 times More @ www.fotbalnewz..com |
Religion / Bishop Oyedepo Faces N2billion Lawsuit For Slapping Church Member by Tchitntdu(m): 8:21am On Apr 25, 2012 |
The Living Faith Christian Church International, David Oyedepo , will face a legal action for slapping a young lady during church service, last year. Robert Igbinedion, a Lagos based lawyer, confirmed to us Friday that he had filed a suit, on behalf of the young lady, at the Ogun State High Court for the enforcement of the lady’s fundamental rights to freedom from inhuman and degrading treatment, human dignity, fair hearing, and freedom from discrimination. Mr. Igbinedion is seeking an award of N2bn as ‘general and exemplary damages’ against Mr. Oyedepo . “If a wrong is done to the young lady, she is bound to receive justice for that wrong,” said Mr. Igbinedion, a Solicitor at Salus Populi Chambers. In the suit, Mr. Igbinedion said that the young lady, while answering an “illegal” alter call, was trying to explain herself when the pastor gave her “a dirty and thunderous slap.” “The respondent (Mr. Oyedepo ) made the alter call for witches to come out, he did not make a similar call for other categories of sinners like illicit drug dealers, contract inflators, fraudsters, adulterers, and fornicators in the church,” read the suit. Mr. Igbinedion, who represented the victims of the celebrated Pastor Emeka Ezeugo (popularly known as Reverend King) at the Magistrate court, in 2006; stated that cases of violence in the place of worship if not nipped in the bud could escalate into ‘uncountable’ dimensions. Furthermore, he said the calling out of the young lady (and others) as witches are illegal, unconstitutional, and a breach of Section 34 of the Constitution of Nigeria, African Charter on Human and People’s Right, and United Nations Universal Declaration on Human Right. The suit asked the court to compel Mr. Oyedepo to issue a self-signed public apology to be published in two national dailies and one international satellite television station. It also wants the respondent to issue a similar alter call for drug dealers, corrupt government officials, bribe-giving contractors, and other category of sinners who are members of the church. In December last year, a video of Mr. Oyedepo viciously slapping a teenage girl during church service for saying she is “a witch for Jesus” appeared on popular site You Tube. Though later removed, the video went viral within days with the pastor, fondly called Papa, receiving a lot of stick from outraged viewers and members of the public. One viewer described the act as “unbiblical, barbaric, and a disgrace.” Days later, another video surfaced in which Mr. Oyedepo tried to justify his action saying “it is my ministry to slap” and that the fact that the witch, rather than going to court, apologized showed his superiority. “People now complain on the Internet that I slapped a witch. If I see another one, I’ll slap,” he said in the video. C/0 www.info-zonez..com |

Is D’banj really the most Prosperous Nigerian Artiste as he Signs With Mercury Records UK? African pop giant and former Mo’hits boss Dapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo has signed with Mercury Records, an imprint in the UK under the Mercury Records Group of Universal Music UK. Mercury Records is a record label operating as a standalone company in the UK and as part of the The Island Def Jam Music Group in the US; both are subsidiaries of Universal Music Group. Mercury Records lists D’banj on their official website as one of their acts alongside the likes of UK rock singer-songwriter Elton John, Soft Rock singer Taylor Swift Irish rock group U2, former The Beatles musician Paul McCartney and others. Although his publicist and management are yet to respond to our E-mails concerning the signing, D’banj seems to have confirmed the news himself as he has updated the bio section profile on his Twitter page. D’banj has also launched his personal website www.dbanjofficial.com where the Mecury Records logo boldly appears in the bottom right corner. The new bio reads ‘DB/Good Music/ Mercury/IDJ’ (IDJ meaning Island Def Jam). When asked by a fan on Twitter what ‘IDJ’ means, he responded ‘island Def Jam bro’. D’banj is however not listed on the G.O.O.D Music/Def Jam official roaster on the label’s website. D’banj who recently parted ways with his former Mo’Hits label partner Don Jazzy has relocated to the US where he will continue to push his brand and music in the foreign music market. European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / El Clasico: Messi Vs Ronaldo ...things You Have To Know About This Derby Match by Tchitntdu(m): 2:48pm On Apr 20, 2012 |
The European Champions League curtain is gradually drawing to a close. In about a month and a week’s time, we would have known the champions of Europe’s most prized club football. Tongues are already wagging and the four top teams are also ready to entertain tomorrow and next in semi final first leg fixtures. The encounters also show the strength of the leagues in Europe. The La liga of Spain presents two big clubs, German Bundesliga one and the English Premiership in spite of its hype having only one as well. But the attraction is on the two Spanish sides; Barcelona and Real Madrid which at the moment boasts of the two best footballers in the world-Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo. Both are a delight to watch any day and any time and have been fierce rivals not only in club football but globally. And many are already predicting a repeat of their El Classico rivalry in the finals to be decided in Germany May 19. But to see that happen, both will have to spearhead their teams to overcome the tricky ties before them in the semis. Messi will have to help Barca past Chelsea while Ronaldo must show individual brilliance for Madrid to overrun hard nuts like Bayern Munich. Both players are first class performers capable of turning a game any minute and the world’s two best players took responsibility for their side’s victory over tough opponents to cement crucial wins ahead of their big clash at Camp Nou this weekend. Besides, they have both surmounted the insurmountable by jointly breaking records believed would never be broken. Telmo Zarra had a record of scoring 38 league goals in the Spanish league which stood between 1951 and 1990 before it was equaled by Hugo Sanchez. That record remained for another 21 years before the duo of Messi and Ronaldo smashed it on Saturday to confirm their revered status as modern day footballers. It is this talismanic prowess that many are awaiting to see in the Champions League’s remaining journey. A lot will no doubt depend on this two in their club’s quest for the trophy. Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi both in the 2010/2011 season netted 53 goals in all competitions. The Madrid kingpin grabbed more in the La Liga and claimed the Pichichi prize for his 40 goals. Between 2009 and this season, Ronaldo has netted 107 goals in 96 games while Messi from 2004/2005 to 2011/2012 has 160 goals from 209 games. This awesome pedigree gives these lethal men some edge over others they are going to meet mid week in the semis clashes. No wonder experts already see a Madrid, Barcelona Champions League finals. Appreciating the two in Spanish football, Barca coach, Pep Guardiola, on Friday, said: “Messi and Ronaldo dine apart from the rest - we are lucky to have them in La Liga. But x-raying what may happen this week in the Champions League, Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger thinks the quality in Madrid due to the presence of Ronaldo gives it an edge over Bayern. In clear terms, he is of the opinion May 19 is likely the day to see Madrid, Barca re-enact their La liga rivalry in Europe’s biggest club football final. The Frenchman said: “On the pitch, Real Madrid has an advantage against Bayern due to their technical and physical strength. For me, it’s 60-40 in favour for Madrid. Since the start of the Champions League this season, Real Madrid has been more stable than other sides and the most impressive in the competition.” On the clash between Barca and Chelsea, Wenger stated that: “Barcelona are favourites, it’s 65-35 but players like Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard and John Terry have extensive experience in this competition so it may not be so easy for Barcelona.” Disagreeing with Wenger, loquacious Argentine legend, Diego Maradona believes Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are better fancied to beat Jose Mourinho’s men in the two legged encounters. “In the case of Bayern Munich, the club is owned 9% by Adidas, 9% by Audi, and 82% by the partners and shareholders. Bayern Munich is a privately-held shareholding company, where the fans are the real bosses. For this reason the team can only spend as much as it makes, and success comes on the field and in marketing operations. This is an example of a well-run, democratic club which I personally think will defeat Real Madrid to reach the final of the Champions League against Barcelona. C/0 www.fotbalnewz..com |
