Nairaland / General / Do You Want To Get Started (inspirational Talk By Nairalander) by teachsergeant(m): 2:11pm On Oct 06, 2017
People get so busy making a living that they never get round to designing a life, and they don’t even start pursuing their dreams because they become so overwhelmed with excuses and paying their bills.
Many people are drowning in excuses of why they can’t live their dreams and why they can’t get started on a life that they actually want to live.
The fake life enslaves many people to a life of misery, humans resemble the hamster going round and round on the wheel, doing the same things every single day hoping to make positive strides to a greater life, but are actually getting nowhere in relation to their dreams.
If that is the life that you have given in to then know that you will be betraying yourself to a life that is well below your true potential. It is a crime against yourself to settle for less than you deserve.
Who’s life are you living? Who’s fooled you into living a life of cowardice? And who’s sold you into a life that is not of your own making?
You have to define success on your own terms based on how you want to live your life. The choice is ultimately yours how you live, but many just cower away and resign themselves to a life of mediocrity.
Most people have the capability and potential to live their dreams, but how many choose the path of hard work, sacrifice, discipline, dedication, and service?
You must start on pursuing your dreams, you have nothing to lose, you have the ability to live your dreams, you have the strength and power within you to develop yourself to be the right person and to make your dreams a reality.
Five years on what does life look like to you? Who’s life are you living? If you’re miserable and in a life of mediocrity it is your own damn fault because you decided not to start, you decided to invest your time, effort, and actions on entertainment and mediocrity and that is why you are living a life of conformity. You are solely responsible for your life so you must take full responsibility for the results that you get as your results are a reflection of your daily actions.
Every single day matters, and what you do today can change your whole life, every single day you have to be moving in the direction of your dreams or you will be moving in the direction of mediocrity. Time is your greatest resource, so use it well to take your life to greater heights.
Success is a mindset, a behavior, a code of conduct, and a way of life. You have to decide what it is you want and then you have to decide what you are going to have to give up to take your life to a whole new level.
Take a chance on yourself, get started on living your dreams, take one small step in a new direction, you need not the approval of others to get started, all it takes is action. Action is the key to all success in any area of your life. And action is what separates the successful from the unsuccessful.
You can do it, you can do it, you can do it, don’t be held back in life by the thoughts of failure, be driven by the visions of success, be pulled by your vision of the life that you will be living. Through hard work and dedication, you can achieve anything that you set your mind to.
The time has arrived for you to get serious about living your dreams. I leave you with this, are you ever going to get started on your dreams? Or are you going to live someone else’s life forever?
Religion / What You Need To Know About Jesus Appearance And Dressing by teachsergeant(m): 7:09am On Sep 23, 2017
Most artistic portrayals of Jesus are of a Caucasian male with blue eyes and long, light-brown hair. It is important to understand that this common portrayal is likely not at all what Jesus looked like. Jesus was ethnically Jewish, so He likely had light to dark brown skin, brown eyes, and dark brown or black hair. Jesus would have looked like a typical Middle Easterner. The Bible nowhere gives a physical description of Jesus, so no one should be dogmatic about His appearance. And, ultimately, we have to realize that what He looked like does not matter. If it mattered, the Bible would contain a physical description.
If the colors of His skin, eyes, and hair in artistic portrayals are likely inaccurate, what about the length of His hair? Is Jesus being portrayed as having long hair also inaccurate? Again, it is impossible to be dogmatic, since the Bible says nothing about the length of His hair. But, if Jesus looked like a typical Middle Eastern male in the 1st century A.D., the artistic portrayals are likely incorrect on the length of His hair as well. Many of the artistic portrayals of Jesus show Him with hair that looks somewhat feminine. While there were no specific Jewish laws, Jewish men traditionally kept much shorter hair than Jewish women.
There is also Paul’s comment in 1 Corinthians 11:14 , “Does not nature itself teach you that if a man wears long hair it is a disgrace for him?” The length of Jesus’ hair would have been whatever was culturally appropriate for a man. Jesus’ hair would have looked masculine. Now, what that precisely means is subject to debate. Could His hair have been shoulder length? Possibly. Would Jesus have had a buzz cut or otherwise very short hair? Probably not. The key is that it would have been masculine-looking. And that seems to be Paul’s point in 1 Corinthians 11:3–15 . A man’s hair should look masculine. A woman’s hair should look feminine. What this means can differ from culture to culture, but the principle remains, regardless of culture.
So, did Jesus have long hair? The answer depends on what is meant by “long.” Could it have been longer than the typical hair length of men today? Yes. Would it have been so long that it appeared feminine? No. But, just as with the colors of His skin, eyes, and hair, the length of His hair ultimately does not matter. It is completely irrelevant to Him being the Savior of the world (John 1:29 ) and the only way to heaven (John 14:6 ).
Science/Technology / What It Takes To Fly A Drone In India "Techadeiza" by teachsergeant(m): 8:26pm On Sep 22, 2017
A drone camera has become an integral part of any photographer or videographer's arsenal. Using drones for shooting videos or clicking images is a common occurrence now. Be it for ad shoots, wedding shoots or leisure photography, drones are being used for capturing aerial shots. It's impressive how they've become extremely popular because flying drones remains illegal in India.
.
.
.
.
Only a handful of government companies, law enforcement agencies are defence forces are legally allowed to use a drone. Estimates point that there are over 40,000 "civilian" drones in Indian skies. A report in The Economic Times stated how Indians have spent close to Rs 40 crore in the last two years on purchasing civilian drones.
.
.
.
.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) clearly states that unmanned aircrafts - drones per se - are illegal in the country as they pose a threat to "national security. DGCA is expected to issue remote pilot license (RPL) - on the lines of CPL and PPL - to civilians who wants to fly drones.
.
.
.
.
However, if you follow certain procedures you can still obtain permission to fly a drone in India. Here's how you can fly a drone but before we get into that let's start with buying a drone.
.
.
.
.
How do you buy a drone?
.
.
.
.
Strangely, while flying drones is illegal one can purchase them in India. Although you will have to purchase the drone in India only as getting them from abroad is a strict no-no. Customs department's rules and regulations have drones listed under "Prohibited goods" so do not attempt to get them from outside India. Civil drones can be bought online and cost anywhere between Rs 2000 to Rs 50,000 and more. Brands like DJI, GoPro are some of the renowned names in the drone category. Depending on why you need to purchase a drone, you can browse across various price points and get the drone which is suitable for your requirements.
.
.
.
.
How do you fly a drone in India?
.
.
.
.
The draft policy of the DGCA on unmanned aircrafts -- mainly drones -- has a clear set of guidelines listed for flying drones. The draft policy was formed and released in 2016 and you should give it a good look before buying a drone.
.
.
.
.
The policy, to begin with, lists what are the types of drones. According to the policy, there are four types of drones: micro (weigh less than 2kg); mini (more than 2g and less than 20kg); small (more than 20 kg but less than 150kg) and large (more than 150 kg).It doesn't matter what drone you buy, it is mandatory to seek permission from the authorities before using them.
.
.
.
.
Registering for a drone
.
.
.
.
The first step is getting your device registered with a unique identification number or UIN. For getting a UIN, you need to have an address proof, a permit from the police and the department of telecom. Once you've submitted the relevant documents, you will get a UIN which needs to be marked on a fire-proof plate. The plate is installed on your device before you are allowed to take it in the air.
.
.
.
.
Permissions to be sought
.
.
.
.
It's a cumbersome process to get a drone in the air and there's a host of permits you need to have in place. Firstly, a permission from a civil or defence Air Navigation Service (ANS) provider. Before you fly off a drone from any property, you need to have permission from the property or land owner as well. You also have to seek a security clearance from the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security of India. It doesn't matter whether it's a recreational drone or commercial drone, all the permissions are mandatory. Also note, you cannot transfer the drone papers in a friend or relative's name.
.
.
.
.
The DGCA draft guidelines also state that drone owners need to have insurance with the liability that they might incur for any damage.
.
.
.
.
So, if you're really a drone enthusiast and are ready to go through this tedious process of getting all the necessary permissions, Godspeed!

Phones / Ncc:mobile Devices Don't Cause Cancer by teachsergeant(m): 7:19pm On Sep 22, 2017
You might have seen reports like this one by the Premium Times, concerning the NCC blaming “sub-standard” phones for things like “cancer” and “network interruptions” [emphasis mine]:
“The Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, on weekday warned Nigerians against
the employment of sub-standard phones,
locution this was liable for some cancer ailments.
[…]
Mr. Olorundare lamented that pretend phones had
taken over the country’s phone market , adding that they need had negative implications on the health of users.”
Hogwash. Claims of cell phones or cellular infrastructure inflicting cancer aren't new;
they're the things of phony WhatsApp broadcasts, and it’s straightforward to ascertain why folks believe them. Cell phones emit non-ionizing radiation and also the
components of our bodies nearest to the antennas (think: ear, brain) absorb this energy. But this kind of radiation is different from, say, X-Rays, which actually could increase cancer risk.
Study, after study, after study, have shown that there is no *significant* correlation between cell phone use and cancer incidence, plus, we should have seen a steep uptick in the number of cancer cases since exponentially more people are making exponentially more phone calls than ever before (which, needless to say, is not the case).
Second, no matter which source/proxy you choose (usage data from web publisher analytics, Google search trends, shipment reports from research firms like IDC), most of the phones sold in Nigeria are made by Samsung, Transsion Holdings (Tecno, Infinix, and iTel), and Huawei, and I wouldn’t call any of their phones “fake”, talk less of saying fake phones have “taken over”.
In the same vein, when you consider that these phones all use the same MediaTek SoCs (containing the same CPUs, same RAM modules, same GPUs, same IO interfaces, etc), same Qualcomm or HiSilicon baseband chips, from the same production lines in Shenzhen, the entire argument falls apart. They are simply branded differently, and the only difference between a “fake” phone and an “original” one is that the NCC or some other body has not “approved” it:
“The NCC official also identified unapproved phones as a major cause of network interruptions.
He said the preponderance of substandard phones was causing colossal damage to network services and health of users.”
Yes, there have been reports online of horrible network deterioration in Nigeria, especially in the past few months. But it is not clear if the NCC is saying that a percentage of the population using “sub-standard” (read: “unapproved”) phones are somehow damaging cell towers et al and making the experience worse for everyone else, in which case… ah.

1.....SUCCESS ARE LIKE TRUST FUND
babies/niggars were rich before going into blogging let say the truth not all blogger started making money with blogging. they started from petty bussiness or borrow money to power thier blogs .
Many successes find themselves in the same blogging boat, struggling to make money without much of a financial cushion.
Few bloggers are trust fund babies. Few bloggers have financial support from parents or friends. Let go this idea. Immediately.

2.....SUCCESSFUL BLOGGERS ARE LUCKY TYPE
If you are an upcoming blogger and this is your taught you are wrong .
they are not lucky they are persistent '
Succesful bloggers are the persistent type who keep on practicing thier talent even when sick they are only bodysick not blogging sick .
they are online 247/ 365 .they promote thier blogs anywere everywhere to everyone just to promote thier blog. They don't sleep always on the search never tired . Not thinking of making money at very first instance

3......SUCCESSFUL BLOGGER GETS WHATEVER THEY NEED WHENEVER THEY NEED
Na lie who told you so i struggle seriously before i could start writting. i don't even have anybody who can teach me how to start composing topics on my own . But now i pay one client to move to that place soon i will.park my domain to make everything cool together

4.......THEY ARE NATURAL !!
No boby is natural you need to learn before becoming a pro . every successful bloggers started from somewere

5........SUCCESSFUL BLOGGERS KNOWS SOME ONE WHO HAS MADE IT
Hell no i didn't no any body before starting
i don't even no what blogging was , let aside knowing what bloggers are. But later i started knowing great bloggers but it didn't work for me

6..........SUCCESSFUL BLOGGERS ARE ALWAYS HAPPY
NA Lie ooo my bro/sis
let me tell you a truth a cried one day when everything seems turned down.
The more successful they are the more sad they are somethings they think might go right might turn left that a big palaver now tell me they are always happy

7.......SUCCESSFUL BLOGGERS DONT FACE PROBLEM
My prayers for you is that one day you will become successful then i will ask you how far
Bloggers face problems but endurance is the key
let even say a blogger in Nigeria they face thousand of problems let aside light issue now u c
