The Lagos State Government has filed a lawsuit against singer Davido and comedian, AY Makun, for tax evasion.

The Lagos State Government in its fight against corruption has begun a move to ensure all its residents pay tax, and any defaulter will be made to face with the law. In pursuit of this, popular singer Davido and sensational comedian Ayo Makun has been caught in the web for alleged tax evasion.

Adeleke David known as Davido has been reportedly charged before a Lagos High Court in July 2017 and risks a jail term if found guilty, while AY was said to have been charged to court in 2016 for failing to file his tax returns. It was reported that Davido claimed that he pays his taxes to Osun State Government since he is an indigene of that state while AY said he remits his taxes to Ondo State.

However, an official of the Lagos State Government has come out to report the situation to the public. Speaking to SUNDAY PUNCH, he said;

“Notable among these alleged tax offenders are two of Nigeria’s celebrated artistes –Davido and AY, the comedian. Both artistes have had a long standing battle with the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service for tax evasion. Saudi Arabia, a country with strict sharia laws, has lifted a ban that restricts women from watching football.

For the first time, the Saudi Arabian Government allowed their women to enter into a sports stadium on Friday, the 12th of January 2018 to watch a soccer match that was played between two local teams.

Although a strict rule is still in place as they were still segregated from the male crowd, the women, however, were assigned to different seating positions in the family section, away from the men but were still able to enjoy the friendly game.

Barcelona has added defender Yerry Mina to their defence strength from Palmeiras for €11.8 million.
Yerry Mina who has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Spanish side requested an immediate transfer to Barcelona as confirmed by Alexandre Mattos.
